disney in may/memorial day?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone with experience could provide me with some advice. I am planning a trip in May 2009 being in the parks from the 26th (day after Memorial Day) until the 30th. Has anyone been around Memorial Day? Do you think it will be super-crowded that week? Thanks so much!

My DBF and I (and 8 of his family members) went May 24-31 of this year and we will be returning for Memorial Day again in May 09! We'll be there the 21st-26th!

This past may we went for the week after Memorial Day and other then the day itself, it was completely mangeable! We were at AK on Memorial Day and then went to the Pirate and Princess party that night and it was like being spoiled! The longest wait the whole week we were there was for TSM and thats because it had just opened!

I figured it would be fine since I went at the end of July with my family this year and survived that one just fine, but I am planning this one for myself and my bf and I am freaking out a little bit because he has never been before any I want it to be wonderful.

I'm planning the trip in May for DBF and I too! haha We just went in May with his family and now its just us! I'm so excitedd!!

I went this past year over the Memorial Day weekend and am going again from the 21st to the 25th in '09. I agree completely with megveg; with the exception of the brand new TSM!, waits and crowds were absolutely fine as far as Disney crowds go as long as you're smart about fastpass usage, etc.
