My family of three (DW, DH, and DD7) are going to be staying at AKL from Dec 15 through Dec 21. How terrible are the crowds during this time?

We went around that time last year and it wasn't bad. I think mid-December should be one of the slower times of the year, picking up as you get closer to Christmas.

We have been several times that time of the year and find it fabulous. The lines are very manageable and the best part is all the of decorations. It is so beautifully decorated for the holidays. The weather has always been perfect for us. This year we are going the first week in October and wondering the same as you. But I love December. Just so long as you leave before the Christmas crowds come in!

and we had a great time. I thought the crowds were very manageable. This was only our second trip, but we managed to ride all the rides we wanted to without long waits. I would recommend tourguide Mike though. We followed his touring plans for our entire trip and never waited more than 5-10 mins for anything. It was wonderful to see all the decorations and Christmas theming. The only thing that was bad for us was the weather. It never got about 65 the whole trip until the last day. It was also kind of rainy a couple of days, but we had ponchos so we just stayed in the park, while lots if people left. My kids did swim though. My kids are like fish, so they could not walk past the pool without wanting to swim. The water was fine, but the walk back to the room was a little chilly. The only day that it seemed crowded was the 24th. We had breakfast at the castle that morning early and then did a couple of last minute things. It was around 10:30 when we left and it was a mob coming into the parks. We could hardly get through to leave. My whole family thought the trip was awesome and can't wait to go back again sometime in December.

although we usually do day trips, Dec is the only time we would stay a couple days. The crowds are minimal and everything is decorated for Christmas. Just be prepared for 80 degree weather or 40 degrees which is actually much better than 90 with crowds.

I go the first weekend in December and I love it!! The crowds are bad at all. It's so beautiful that time of year!
