For all you Floridians or frequent December visitors, what is the typical weather in December? We will be there 12th-21st. :santa: I know it's too early & weather isn't "typical" in the south, I'm just trying to get a general idea. Is going to the pool out of the question? Should we layer b/c it gets warmer? TIA

We were there Dec 15-25, 2006. The weather was very warm. We never wore long sleeves once, not even at midnight at MVMCP. We started taking sweatshirts to the park each day and getting a locker. We started leaving them in the car since we never needed them. I did laundry one night at Pop and people were in the pool up until midnight. When we left on Christmas Day, a storm started moving in and it was raining.

You never know with December weather. It may be very warm, or not. Most people advise taking layers which you may or may not need. You also may or may not be able to swim. You won't know for sure until you get there and see what it's like.

Hi,

Winter weather in Orlando is completely unpredictable. You could have warm days (80s) with cool mornings, or you could have mornings near freezing with afternoons in the 40s or 50s. Or you could have a little of both, or something in between.

Also, you can plug your dates in herre for some recent weather history:

When we were there in Dec, we had days when we were wearing fleece jackets and one day, I even bought a pair of lightweight gloves - and we're from Maine, so we know what cold is! The weather could go either way - honestly. We remember talking to many people who had paid lots of $$$ on sweatshirts and jackets that they had no intention of buying but had to because they were so cold that week.

We were at Disney during the 2nd week of December last year and had wonderful weather. High of low 80's and lows in the 60's. We never had to wear jackets or long pants.

I'll second that. We were there last Dec. 16 - 23. Our first morning at MK we bought gloves! Fortunatly, we had our sweatshirts. A couple of days later, we were swimming in the pool at our resort. Moral of the story...be prepared for anything.

I agree with everyone else, pack like anything might happen. We have been in Dec when we needed jackets in the morning, but by afternoon we didn't. We have been when we left the resort in shorts/short sleeves and needed sweatshirts by afternoon. One day we needed gloves and jackets all day. Several days we were good with jeans, t-shirt. In 2005 we did MVMCP in shorts and the kids wore a sweatshirt. In 2007 we wore long pants, long sleeves and a sweatshirt for MVMCP.

So unpredictable! I just am in the habit of packing a little bit of everything in case we need it. Regardless, it sure is a great time to go!
