Disney in August?

My fiance and I will be going to Disney World August 14-19th for our honeymoon. And I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the crowds are like around that time.

Hi Toya,

We've been there the second/third week in August seven times in the last 10 years, and crowds are very manageable. There are long lines for the big attractions, but Fastpass will help you there.

It's going to be very hot, and it will still be warm and humid at night and first thing in the morning. Plus there will be thunderstorms almost every afternoon. Good reasons to get to the parks early and take a mid-day break!

You'll have a great time--don't stress about the crowds!!

We are going for the second year in a row in August. Last year was August 9-20 and this year is August 13-20. FastPass those rides and you will be fine. Just be sure to drink lots of water!

this will be our 1st time trying Aug and we committed to two weeks

the first wk will be more commando - to the parks when they first open, lunch and then head back to the pool (or Disney Quest, tour AKL, etc)
second wk sleep, pools till midafternoon, late lunch then on to the parks

we visited from 6th to 28th August last year and this year we are going 4th to 25th even a hurricane last year did not put us off. We found it hot but not to unbearable we were out early and had a mid afternoon rest and swimm, drank plenty of water and we all coped. Enjoy your honeymoon

Our anniversary is August 7 and we honeymooned in WDW. The lines were nowhere near as bad as we expected. We made sure we were at the parks when they opened. We usually had lunch inside somewhere in the air conditioning for a break. We enjoyed going for night swims in the quiet pool too.
