Are there any issues with using Disney images and copyright infringements for door magnets and FE's? What is allowed and what is not allowed? I saw a picture of a pin that I want to copy, paste, print and put a magnet on.

Thanks

I don't think magnets are an issue because Disney has never stopped people from printing them. I think it becomes an issue when you copy the images and then sell them. You can use them for your own private use, such as magnets.

Basically, it is selling that gets you into trouble.

I can embroider a design of a character on a dress for my child, but if I make a dress and sell it to you, I'm violating the copyright.

In that same reguard though, wouldnt the sellers of embroiderd FEs be infringing on the Disney copywright by selling items with Disney fonts and charachters?

I tried to get some magnets done for my recent FEs using my own image (photo) of the Disney Magic's bow which has an image of Mickey on it.

I went through the make a customised fridge magnet process, adding dates and titles, with Zazzle.com - however, after submitting my order for 10 magnets I got an email back a short while later saying they had cancelled my order as they considered there were copywriting issues witht the image I had supplied.

So yes, you could run into issues.

It would depend on where the templates came from, and what the usage agreement of the templates is.

You can google Disney images and a lot will come up.
I wonder if these are okay to print for door magnets or not.?.:confused3

If the image had a © in in the image somewhere you can't sell anything with that image on it without permission from disney. If there is no © present, you can use the image all you want. As for fonts, no one can copyright a font, they can copy right the name of the font and a particular arrangement of letter with that font. Just keep an eye out for ©, if it is nowhere to be found, you are in the clear. pirate:

You can even print images with copyrights and use them for personal use, i.e. door magnets. As stated above, you cannot sell it.

Yes, companies are very reluctant to print anything recognizably Disney. They don't want to get sued. However, if you were to print those magnets from your home computer and give them as FEs or put them on your door, you would be fine. Only if you were to try to sell your magnets, would you get into trouble.
