In light of all of the changes announced (most of which are great), is there anything at WDW that you would consider untouchable, something so perfect that if it was messed with (closed, refurbed with unnecessary movie tie-ins, etc) that you would just throw your hands up in disgust and be done?

Not really. As I heard someone say recently (perhaps on the podcast?), WDW is an entertainment center, NOT a museum. It needs to keep evolving. That said, I would be very disappointed if they did away with certain things that I love dearly. The one that comes to mind is the People Mover, which was mentioned as a possible fatality to make room for Tomorrowland improvements. Luckily, this didn't happen.

The only attraction I would care about would be Splash Mountain but i would just be made for a minute and get over it.

No, nothing. I might be sad and a little disappointed, but it would just mean another trip to plan to see what they did!

I would be very unhappy if they changed the FastPass system to something like what Universal has - pay more and wait less. I really like that everyone has a fair chance. Resort guests get a slight advantage with an earlier booking window. It seems very reasonable and fair to me and doesn't devalue a standard entry ticket.

I agree with the "It's not a museum" comment. It should evolve, faster. Get rid of the least attended attractions and replace with new.

Get rid of Tiki Room, Country Bear, Tom Sawyer, Liberty Boat, People Mover, Indi Speedway, Swiss Family Tree House...and any other attractions that are not popular.

Consider this my "dislike" click. Just because you don't like them, doesn't mean that others don't. Even though I don't care for UoE at Epcot, I know others like it. That's enough to make me say to update the ride and keep it going instead of replacing it.

Not to mention, as others have said, folks that are older, younger, have health issues, etc., can't go on some of the rides at WDW. Having joined that club in the last few years, and my thrill ride days are now over, I look fore more sedate rides that don't bounce me around everywhere.

I agree that WDW doesn't need to be considered a museum. But, when I go to WDW, its like this 46 year old gets to recapture some of his childhood by going on rides that I first went on when I was a very little boy. It wouldn't be the same with out PoC, HoP, People Move, Liberty Belle, Country Bears, and many others.

IMHO, Disney needs to keep their older rides and just spruce them up (if necessary) when they get older. AND, they can open up more rides in addition to what they have. Not only does this cause people to spend extra days, and extra $$$, but it will also spread out the crowds much better.

I would be VERY sad if they removed these original Walt Disney attractions. If they replace It's a Small World, that would be heartbreaking and a breaking point for me. I realize these rides aren't High speed rollercoaster rides, but there is something to these original attractions. I went on them with my mom. My kids went on them with me and if I am lucky enough to have grandchildren in the future, I will ride them with my grandchildren.

Disney is not just about thrill rides, it's about families and making memories - and continuing those memories with future generations. Just my two-cents

As an unashamed WDW "apologist", nope. Nothing would make me just throw up my hands and walk away. I love many of the classic rides, such as IASM, etc...but I don't really care for the Country Bears, Tom Sawyers Island, Swiss Family, etc....I wouldn't shed a tear to see those go.

However, even though it's not a WDW "classic", I have always maintained that if they ever announce that they're getting rid of or retheming RnR, I will get in my car, drive the 8 hours to WDW and spend a full park day riding it over and over and over and over.

Disney parks are my happy place, just being there, being able to experience the atmosphere, and see things which for most of my life I only saw on tv or in photos means so much to me. For most Irish people going to Disneyland California is a once in a lifetime trip, something they save for a few years and then never go back. The fact that I can go every year and I go solo so I can experience things which a family may not have the budget for, makes me really appropriate every minute I spend in the parks.

Being in the parks is my escape from reality, a place where for a few days I am off the grid, uncontactable and I can recharge and just have some alone time.

I love going back each year and seeing new things, having new things to enjoy and explore. Yes there are things I would be sad to see go, but I would not skip my annual visit just cos something is gone.

This thread reminds me of a discussion on another forum about the Pirates refurb. So many were against it as it was the old original Pirates without any Captain Jack or movie references. So many flat out said that the refurb would ruin the ride for them and they would not go to the new Pirates. Well the ride reopened a few weeks ago and now everyone on the forum, both those who have been on the new ride and those who have watched the new POV YouTube video LOVE the updated ride.

I would do less trips if they took away annual passes. I just bought one and have 4 trips planned for it.

If Thunder Mtn were gone, I would be very very sad! I would moan about it every time I went to MK. So much so, ppl would not want to be around me!

Removing Splash Mountain would be the only thing that I would consider unforgivable. Other things that come close are the Castle, Haunted Mansion, TTA, and Spaceship Earth (not the ride - just the icon).

Nothing would keep me away, but losing The Haunted Mansion and any of the Mountains would be a tough pill to swallow.

If they ever implement a resort fee or make guests pay for parking, I'm done. And we don't ever rent a car, it's the principle of it.

In a sense I disagree with the "it's not a museum" idea. I think you need a mix of new and constantly evolving attractions while having a healthy dose of respect and homage to Walt's original ideas. Main Street USA, attractions based on the classic movies... they can't be replaced and forgotten. To me, if you get too far away from the original vision it isn't Walt Disney World anymore. I like that there's a mixture of groundbreaking new ideas and a celebration of what was. Balancing the two is what Disney does best IMO and thus far they are doing a fantastic job.
If there ever became a point where there was no nod to the good old days? I'd be done.
