Disney, If You Change -----, We're Through!

If Disney got rid of their unique in-Park dining experiences, I would be done. To me, that's the #1 thing that sets it apart from other amusement parks. If they all went to chicken fingers and burgers in the parks, like most amusement parks, I'd never plan another trip again.

I would probably go to Epcot more if the world showcase WAS removed ! I was just at WDW for 8 days/7 nights and the only time I stepped foot in the world showcase was to eat in Mexico and that was the cantina. Honestly, Disney's version of what they think they should portray countries like is just that, a portrayal. Having a place for adults to get drunk does not need to be part of Disney either. I really have a hard time of making the Disney connection between the world showcase and the rest of the parks/themes. It is great you like it, but there are a LOT who have an actual dislike of it. I was truly disgusted to see adults walking through Epcot towards the showcase with T-shirts portraying in a Disney sense of how drunk they were going to get that night. Seriously......I am sure Walk would be frowning as well.

I'm a non-drinker, so I agree with you on having to deal with all the drunks. Everyone wants to have fun in their own ways, and if people want to get plastered, that's their choice. I just hope that their idea of a good time does not interfere with anyone else's time at WS. Drinking around the world is an activity that a lot of people enjoy. It's one of the world's most expensive bar crawls, but people still want to do it.

Yes, most of the pavilions exacerbate some of the country's stereotypes, but for some of us, this will be the best way to actually get a taste of most of these countries. My one criticism is that they do Americanize a lot of stuff.

You say you don't like WS, and you have trouble seeing Walt's vision in it. I see it as a way of bringing people together through culture, which has been one of Walt's visions. Celebrate the uniqueness of each culture, and use that to bring us together as mankind.

Personally, I don't understand AK. It honestly feels like an overgrown zoo, to me. I know there's much more to it, but that's my reaction to it, and I can't shake it off. I scheduled a 1/2 day for it during my upcoming trip, but if I walked in, did FoP and EE and then left, I'd be just as happy with that park. Without FoP, I probably wouldn't have even bothered going there.

Much of the Disney World was based on the 1964 World's Fair in Queens, New York. It's a Small World, Carousel of Progress, Hall of Presidents and the People Mover are all based directly on attractions that debuted at that World's Fair. Mickey and other characters appeared there as well.

Mr. Disney's vision for the World Showcase was for it to become a permanent world's fair. It employs college interns from the countries represented to serve as ambassadors of their home lands.

Up until one late night EMH last year during F&W, I had never seen anyone visibly intoxicated in the World Showcase. I have run into more than a few drunks in my resorts over the years. I've dealt with that in other vacation spots as well.

People do "drink around the world," but that should not stop other people from appreciating the vision Mr. Disney had for showcasing the cultures of our globe.

Although the monorail needs to be refurbished, if it were removed entirely it would change the experience at MK, Epcot and several resorts. That seems like the single attraction that would have the biggest impact. As long as it were replaced with somthing interesting I would still probably go.

I take my family to Walt Disney World because of the overall sense of Kid-Friendy traveling, safety and cleanliness (with several exceptions). If that overall sense were gone and WDW became a very crowed heartless amusement park I would stop going.

I agree with the "It's not a museum" comment. It should evolve, faster. Get rid of the least attended attractions and replace with new.

Get rid of Tiki Room, Country Bear, Tom Sawyer, Liberty Boat, People Mover, Indi Speedway, Swiss Family Tree House...and any other attractions that are not popular.

Do you realize how many people ride the PeopleMover on a given day? It's a continuous load. Would not be surprised if it had one of the highest rider-ships in the whole park.

The wit times at the Speedway indicate that it still is popular. Regardless of what adults think about it, kids love it. Yes, it could be better. But, to suggest it's not popular is just wrong.

I may be disappointed if some attractions were taken away, but that wouldn't cause me to stop wanting to vacation there. I worry more about being priced out of having a quality experience.

I think that Disney has to maintain a certain volume of guests to make staying open feasible so I tell myself that this can't happen.

But when I see people happily willing to pay exorbitant prices to attend dessert parties, for example, it worries me. Fireworks have always been included the price of tickets, but if folks are ready, willing and able to spend more on seeing them than they pay for dinner, that doesn't bode well for the future IMO.

That is the problem and why we will continue to have these experienes .. People pay for them.

I guarantee if they offered an unlimited Fast Pass (for every ride) for $300/day (on top of your ticket price). There would be people who buy it. Not many .. but there would be.

Look at the "Early Morning Magic" .. look at the Star Wars Tour at DHS (before Galaxy's Edge exists). some people have a ton of money to throw at things .. and do.

I would be more challenged by resort fees, parkin fees at resorts, fees for busses, charges for FP.

Unfortunately this may be just a matter of time. I hope not, but you know Disney. Any way to squeeze more cash out of their loyal subjects.

Cinderella's Castle, Small World, Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion...they mess with any of those, and I'll finally just grow up and quit visiting.

Peter Pan never grew up and it worked out well for him, didn't it?

Small World, TTA, and Haunted Mansion are my top 3 to just leave alone.

If they cut things they now provide for "free" to on-site guests, like transportation options, FP+ (booking window and zero extra cost) and other things that we don't often use like parking (free at parks) and MDE (we drive), I'd be hesitant to return. I'm an unapologetic on-site snob - love being immersed in the bubble, love the aforementioned perks, love the ease of access. If they started messing with what makes WDW feel like WDW to me and my family, I'd be upset and the value would diminish for me.
