no one has mentioned that disney also has transportation on the cruise line bus from some (not all ) of their hotels. if you havent cruised before, its a great way to go to the port, a movie is shown on the bus, showing and explaining all the FUN you are about to have...it really gets you ready!

Check into rates for towncars & limos as well. For the same cost of round trip DCL bus service, it will work out to be about the same for the 5 of us to take a limo!

We booked the cruise after already having a trip planned for Christmas. So I am wondering what the cost would be for Disney transportation to and from the ship. Can you purchase it going one direction if that's all you need? Thanks so much.
Nancy:rolleyes:

From everything I have seen you can purchase transfers for about $23 per person each way to or from the airport. I believe you can do the same to or from WDW but not sure if the cost is the same.

Ok. Here's information on DCL buses from the July 2002 edition of the "Magical Disney Cruise Guide" which is now at Deb Wills' website www.wdwig.com

Ground Transportation Pricing: Below is the pricing for ground transportation that will be effective with the March 2001 cruises.
One Way (airport to WDW) $19
One Way (all other) $24
Cruise Only (2 legs) $46
Land/Sea (3 legs) $63

The DCL motor coach runs from/to:
Orlando International Airport to Port Canaveral
Port Canaveral to Orlando International Airport
Walt Disney World Resort To Port Canaveral
Port Canaveral to Walt Disney World Resort

The Walt Disney World Resort locations include the following hotels only:
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin
Disney's Board Walk Inn & Villas
Disney's Contemporary Resort
Disney's Polynesian Resort.
Disney's Port Orleans Riverside (Dixie Landings Resort)
Disney's Port Orleans Resort.
Disney's Beach Club Resort.
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.

Just wanted to correct what I had previously posted. Definitely do not want to mislead anyone.

We've used the DCL transportation bus twice already. Loaded fast and left quickly (trip took 45 minutes) - no complaints! Video (DCL information) was good, even the second time. The return trip had "George of the Jungle" playing!

For the 3 of us, it was just fine.

The first time we stayed 4 nights at the Contemporary and were allowed to go over to Animal Kingdom and board the DCL bus at noon to get to the ship. That was a nice way to see AK without taking a full day to do it. I don't know if they are still doing that or not, but it seemed like a good idea and there were 2 buses full by the time the first one left!
