Disney Hotels during value season

Hey all this site is amazing! I feel like I have gained tons information on here already. I use to go to disneyland every summer as a kid and honeymooned there! I just love it. Well my husband and I want to take our family of five there during the first week of Febuary 2014. My question is when is the best time to book a hotel for this time? Should I wait till they offer discounts? Do they offer discounts for this time? If they do offer discounts when do they offer discounts on hotels for Febuary? The hotel we really want to stay at is the Grand. Would booking in January be ok? Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the Dis. By the Grand, I assume you are referring to the Grand Floridian Resort?

You can book your resort or vacation package any time for dates in 2014. If you know for sure that you will go to WDW regardless of a discount being offered, then my recommendation would be to book it now if you have firm dates. This way you know that you can get the resort and (especially) room category that you prefer.

Discounts are never guaranteed and it is difficult to predict exactly when they might be offered. However, mousesavers.com has a chart that lists the discounts that have historically been offered, their release date, and the periods when they are in effect. If you book a room only reservation or a vacation package now and a discount comes out at a later date that would apply to your dates, you can call and request that the discount be applied to your reservation. Note that you can only have one discount; you can't 'stack' more than one.
