Hello,

I would like to know what advice one may have regarding obtaining the best rate possible for the Disneyland Hotel? I would love to stay there next year. I am trying to figure out when it might be good to call reservations. I know calling this year, for that far out, probably is not the best idea. Anyway, any advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA :goodvibes

I'm new at this and trying to get the best prices too. So far I have found the best price at Getawaytoday.com for DL Hotel.

I'd like to know the best way to get the best deal too!

Gisele, how was your HM trip? I haven't seen anything from you about that.:)

As for good rates, the best thing is to wait and see what they release. Really, there isn't a strategy to it, you just have to get lucky, at least that's been my experience. Try travel sites like Expedia, getawaytoday, watch for DLR specials.....all regular things to watch. :)

Pixiewings is right, it's just a matter of luck.

We were booked for HoJo for October this year, but then the killer $ 100 night for PP showed up on Expedia last month.

For the second part of our stay we had booked the usual 10 percent off AP rate for the GCH - my room mate really wanted to do this, so we saved and that was okay. Last week out of the blue really good AP rates showed up, and then two days later the Fall Getaway rate was released which was again cheaper.

Calling reservations now for next year is definitely too early. They probably don't even have the rates available yet.

But if you book a room only reservation and the rate drops give reservations a call and they will change the rate to the cheaper one. I called Friday and they switched my AP rate to the Fall Getaway without a problem.

The advice to get the best rate...keep an eye on it, keep checking, make no non-refundable reservations.

This year, for the upcoming 3 months, has just been nutty. They didn't release the GOOD AP rates until, what, last week?

Right before that they started offering some $100 nights through expedia (100 plus 15% tax plus resort fee and tax on that...not really 100, but I digress)...

Someone mentioned the other day that going straight through disneyland dot come, for their Fall getaway deals, the rate was better than the good AP rate or the 100/night!

you just have to keep looking. Keep looking until you hit your "can't be canceled" date...then STOP looking. Keep yourself happy; don't look after that.

Thank you for everyones reply. I really do very much appreciate it. It is all very good advice.
Pixie, thank you for asking about the HM's 40 th Anniversary event. When I have more time I will reply regarding my particular experience. I did have a really very nice day. Well except in the morning when I was staying elsewhere the night before checking into the Dl Hotel. :faint:
