I know this is an odd question! But does anyone know who makes the Disney hot dogs?

I'm guessing since they go through so many, that it might be a private label thing. However...if it's a brand sold in grocery stores, I'd love to know the brand.

Thanks!

I wish they would hook up with a good hot dog company like Universal did with Nathans.

Love the hot dog with pulled pork at Caseys!!! its almost better than a burger from Pecos Bill.....

Do they serve Hebrew Nationals at the kosher kiosks?

Absolpositively.

Hee! It's so funny. I'm from NY, land of Nathan's, Sabrett's and Kayem hot dogs. And that's what I usually buy. However, those dogs are skinny and pretty spicy. I really liked findings a hot dog that was thick and didn't compete with the toppings.

I won't be giving up my NY Dogs but the John Morrell's (If I can find them) are a nice change of pace. I guess you could say that they are exotic in their plainness, at least to my taste. :-)

The hot dogs at WDW are a blend of chicken (60%) and beef (40%) that many of us don't find very tasty, especially on a wheat buns (a.k.a. "cruble buns") they serve them on. I suppose you can compensate somewhat with toppings, but I like my hot dogs plain so the true taste comes through. I have stopped getting hot dogs at WDW except for at the few places that still serve all-beef hot dogs. Sommerfest in Germany (Epcot), the stand on the Boardwalk, and Wetzels Pretzels (DTD) are the only places I have found that still sell real hot dogs. I have heard that the Hess gas stations around WDW also have all-beef hot dogs and are among the best in WDW. That's a sad commentary for the "Great American Theme Park."

Agreed.

I don't understand what the point of the dog itself is if all you're doing is covering it with toppings - if it brings no flavor to the party why bother?

If it is not natural casing. GERMANY I am not eating it!! Although my DS 27 says the dogs in Germany are TOO good. That is why he doesnt like them. :confused3
:rotfl:

I can see that lots of folks don't like the hot dogs. Obviously, we did. :goodvibes

And I'm happy I could come on the Dis and find out the brand. I really appreciate it.

Thanks!

According to their website, Walmart carries them around here. http://www.johnmorrell.com/products/hot-dogs

It all depends where you are eating. The reason I know this is that we just returned (on Monday) from 9 days at Disney and most of my son's meals were hot dogs. He has an allergy to poultry and each QS and TS had a different answer for us. So if you have a a favorite restaurant you eat hot dogs ate I would email Disney and tell them that restaurant and see what they say.

WHAT!!?? A major brand of food product sold on Main Street?? Blasphemy. There would be protests, 60 page threads and rants by Pete in his podcasts. How could anyone live with a major food brand moving into Main Street? (Unless it is Nestle, Coke, Carnation, Sunkist, Sara Lee.......) ;)
