Disney Honeymoon June 1-11 Closing thoughts

Lunch time was small as we had an early dinner at CRT...DH loves Turkey Legs and he had to try one of the famous Disney ones. Now I have always just had a couple bites of my dad's growing up, never one all to myself and let me tell you all this thing is huge and daunting. DH loved it and the thing was gone before my eyes...it was amazing....I eat maybe 1/4th of mine then threw it away. DH said his only issue was that because of the smokiness it was a bit too salty.

Dessert was my fav DOLE WHIP!!!!:cool1::cool1:
Now I love the float as much as the next person, but let me tell you my way to fake a float. I like the swirl Dole Whip and Vanilla then a cup of pineapple juice. So Refreshing and it doesn't melt as fast:goodvibes DH was a big fan and this was just fantastic in the heat...I agree after having it in Hawaii it is not as good but still I would pay big bucks for this and could have it all the time.

Dining plan: the turkey legs are a quick service and dole whip and juice was 2 snack credits We also used a snack credit for a smart water to help with the salty turkey legs.

Great reviews so far. Can't wait to read more. I'm super excited about the puffy french toast from CP, it looks soooo yummy:love:

I am too tired tonight to work on the review but it being saturday tomorrow be prepared for lots of pics. I am so glad everyone is enjoying what i have so far....as they say we haven't even scratched the surface ;)

I am back everyone...:surfweb:Dinner at the Castle was luck....about 3 weeks after I had already made all my ADRs DH was talking about how cool it would be if we could go into the castle. He never being to Disney he didn't remember me telling him about the restaurant inside...after we talked about it again he said he would really like to eat there. :scared1: Now as a Disney vet I knew that this was not looking good because CRT fills up so fast, but I took a chance and called....There was a 5:20 available for the day we had planned for the MK:cool1: We arrived at 5 and they sent us away saying that we could only check in 10 minutes before our reservation:confused3 so okay we went into Tink's treasures where DH got pixie dusted by the CM's for his first visit and honeymoon:love: After we checked in and had our picture with Cinderella we waited another 5 minutes before we were allowed to go up. Inside is so pretty and this pic does not really show much but I love the ceiling.

I was crossing my fingers that we get a window seat and guess what:wizard: we did!!!!

and the view was great of Fantasy Land

Our server (can't think of his name) was great and very helpful all through dinner. For our app. we both got the BLT salad....this was so amazing I was scraping the plate...the shallot vinagrette is a recipe I wish I had.
saladcrt.jpg

I got the Lamb chops and I am sorry but I ate a bite forgetting to take the pic....it was perfectly cooked, tender and one of my favs of the trip.
I didn't manage to get a pic of DH's dinner all I know is he ate every bite and really liked it...He had the Lavender Chicken which I had a bite of and it was very good and juicy.
lambcrt.jpg

DH is a sucker for sorbet and fruit so he was in heaven and yes!!!!! I finally got him before he took a bite:woohoo:
sorbetcrt.jpg

My dessert was the Chocolate Cream Cheese Buckle FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!:worship: It was light, not overly rich it wasn't really a cake or a muffin and looks don't give it justice but this thing would take me back to CRT so I hope they never remove it from the menu:upsidedow

During dinner Suzie and Pearla come around for pictures but no autographs...they give you a card that they and the fairy godmother have signed to take home with you. The Fairy Godmother was really neat and asks for those celebrating anything and the CMs told her we were on our honeymoon so she made a big deal about it along with others.
This meal was one of our top 5 of the trip and I think it is perfect for all ages. Food was amazing and it was a very memorable meal for DH and I.
Very recommended :thumbsup2

just caught up on your reviews...great job so far. And those Disneymoon hats are superb! So much better for hot sunny days to have the bill on the cap shading your face: clever, clever woman.

Love your pics of dinner at the castle...agree 100% with your assessment. I know a lot of people really complain about the food/service/cost whatever of castle meals, but we enjoyed it all just as you did. So glad it worked out for your honeymoon.

Funny that you commented about the hats having the bill....that was why I made them...I burn so easy and a hat is a must, I don't know why disney hasn't thought of this yet. Also...the Groom top hat was too small for DH's head and that was the idea was born to take a bride and groom base ball hat from a craft store and put the two together. I undid the ears from the top hat and hot glued them on his and mine is the head band bride ears cut apart and glued to the brides hat. These worked so well and really did help keep us cool.

Count me in!
Congrats on your wedding.
Is anyone missing some pictures? I get some, but get red x's for others. Love seeing the pics.

I'm in! It looks like you had a hot day in MK. I have that same purple tinkerbell shirt (too cute). You made some great dining choices so I can't wait to read more.

After reading many a review here on the Disboard I have to thank you all for the wonderful advice about the cookie icecream sandwich that is a snack credit at the Main Street Bakery. After riding BTM we had just enough time to go in and grab a curb side treat before the 11pm spectromagic parade. DH and I split this...I can't imagine eating a whole on....but my goodness was this amazing. We even made the recommendation to the man in front of us who had never heard about this...he was very happy with the suggestion:cool2:

You can tell how hot it was that day as my face is all red....that is not a sunburn I was just hot beyond belief and during our trip the temp grew each day.

I love your DR! I can't wait to read more!

My DF and I are going on our honeymoon to WDW in four months and I can't wait!!!

Many go to Discovery cove and don't tell about the food that is included. Very nice and all you want to eat. At breakfast it was juice, coffee, tea, milk with choice of cereal, yogurt, and fruit with pastries. Simple continental. Lunch was unreal and I am sorry upfront for the terrible picture, it was a waterproof disposable and for some reason when developed it turned this pic read. I had the chicken wrap, cooked mixed veggies, and a salad. The key lime pie I didn't eat because after eating everything else it was warm and I didn't want to get sick.

Very good lunch...DH got the cheeseburger, fries, and chicken fingers. There was fish, stirfry, pasta, at least 6 different desserts, sandwiches. It was a crazy large selection for any food taste.
Not only was this day fantastic but the food was nice. I know Discovery Cove is $$$$$$ but is was so worth the money.

This dinner needs two posts and you all will see why. What a surprise this was and a wonderful culinary adventure. It was pixie dusted at every turn and our server was unbelievable. Our ADR was for 5:55 and we got there early. The restaurant is beautiful and we loved the Boardwalk. Right after we ordered we were delighted with amuse bouches complements of the chef for our honeymoon. :wizard:

This was mine...in a cute espresso cup was a yellow beat soup with creme fresh...so amazing!!!!! And i don't like beats:goodvibes
DSCF2704_1183.jpg

DH had a tuna dish with caviar both firsts for him and he was scraping the plate...what was nice was that by me asking questions about the menu as i don't eat any seafood and this dinner was for DH who loves it the server made sure my amuse was fish free, but that DH got the best.

Our appetizers came next and wow. DH had the Signature dish...Peekyto Crab Cakes: Savery Vegetable Slaw Roasted Red Pepper Coulis and Ancho chile Remoulade. This thing was huge and DH was licking the plate:banana:

I love cheese trays so I went with that. It was a five tasting portion of Luigi Guffanti Robiola Langhe, Beemster Gouda, Manchego, Crottin, and Point Reyes Blue served with Raisens on the vine, fig cake, honeycomb, and spiced green papaya chutney. Then it came with little toasts. OH MY!!!!:worship: so so good, the raisens were supper cool and while I love honey I have never had honeycomb and with the cheese it was food for the gods:love:
The gouda was supper yummy and my fav of the plate...i tried the blue and that is the one cheese no matter how many times and different ones i taste it is YUCK::sick:moldy cheese is not for me...but i did try it.

stay tuned......:upsidedow

what a great "tease" photo to keep us all on the edge of our seats. Wonder what it is...:rolleyes1

Ohhh I can tell I'm going to love your Flying Fish review (well the rest of it). We have the same taste...no fish..and NO MOLDY cheese!!!! all the other cheeses look and sound WONDERFUL. omg

That cheese plate looks magnificent. I love blue cheese so I would have taken yours. ;)

Looking forward to more reviews. :goodvibes

I love FF...cannot wait to see what you ordered for dinner!

Comgratulations! Great reviews so far!

Thanks so much for the review of the castle. We are eating there in August and I was thinking of getting the lamb chops. I have never seen a picture of that and it looks great! Hopefully it is still on the menu in August.

Can't wait to hear your review of Flying Fish. It's on my list for October.

Looking forward to hearing more:thumbsup2

I am so glad that everyone is enjoying Flying Fish...this meal was a culinary experience and it was beyond wonderful. After our fabulous appetizers we waited for our main course when our waiter showed up with another surprise :wizard: Blackberry Sorbet to cleanse our palette. WOW! This is on the dessert menu and boy was it good.
DSCF2710_1178.jpg

DH had never had salmon up to this point and loves fish so he went with that over the signature Red Snapper. Salmon became a fav of his and he ate it at several other locations through the trip. He loved it and said the flavors complimented everything.
Oak grilled Bay of Fundy Salmon with ran roasted mushrooms, zucchini and yellow squash, tomatillo, pablano pepper and cilantro emulsion.
DSCF2713_1175.jpg

Now remember that I do not eat any seafood...no fish, shell fish..nothing I do highly recommend this restaurant for the nonfishy eaters there were many things on the menu: Lamb chops (had those the night before), New York strip steak (was saving that for Le Celliar) and a pasta dish...my choice of the night. I wish I could have taken the little I left behind with me to the room but i didn't. It was lick your plate amazing:goodvibes, so many summer flavors and complexity, very refreshing and light...YUMMY YUMMY says it all
Spring Asparagus, Arugula, Wild and Cultivated mushroom laced Orecchiette Pasta in a pesto crema and lemon mosto basil oil
DSCF2712_1176.jpg

We had barely enough room for dessert after the add ons we had but we gave it a shot. I made a bad choice with the ginger scented banana and macadamia tart with coconut sorbet...it just wasn't for me
DSCF2714_1174.jpg

DH had the study in chocolate: Dulce de Leche and white chocolate creme, cocoa nib tuile, chocolate croutons; Rich chocolate mint torta and almond gelato; Chocolate raspberry mousse....he liked it but the favorite was to come
DSCF2716_1172.jpg

OUr server continued the pixie dust with champagne and a celebrate dessert of caramelized florida peach creme brulee with a lemon anise bicotti:dance3: we were fighting over this....said sorry for leaving our ordered desserts behind and left nothing of this one. WOW...so gooooood and if I had to do it over I would order this as it is the best on the menu. And the chocolate sign was yummy too.
DSCF2715_1173.jpg

SO concluded our wonderful dinner at Flying Fish...10/10 and pixie dusted beyond our belief:wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard:it was actually almost too much but we still loved every second. I would caution that I don't think it should be expected to be celebrating something and get all we got...I really don't know what made us so special to get so many complementary items but wow what a night. We plan to return to this restaurant in the future and have talked about making one of our must does of each vacation. The board walk is beautiful and fun to walk at night...we played Fantasia Gardens after dinner to work off some food....took the boat to Swan/Dolphin and walked back...very close and nice at night...if anyone wants pics of that let me know, for now here is the Boardwalk taken from the boat dock. Up next is Norway Breakfast.
