Disney Hilton Head resort

Is this the right place to ask about this resort? I know it's not a WDW property, but I was thinking of taking my wife there for a short Anniversary trip in November. I know it won't be near beach weather (I live near a beach so that really isn't the draw), but just curious how this resort is in the off-season and for just a couple on a romantic getaway.

Better to book directly or since it is a DVC resort .. better to rent points?

I know not to expect characters or anything like that, but what sort of Disney "Magic" is at these non-theme park resorts? Is it anything special or just as good going to any other resort in the area?

I am curious about the same things, and in addition, what rooms have the best views of the backwaters/wildlife? Any HHI veterans here?

Magic wise - nothing really. A few Disney themed topiaries, great CMs, and some hidden mickeys.

We stayed last summer and loved it. There's a TR in my signature with pictures.

We love Hilton Head (10 days until our next visit!). We rent a condo on VRBO as I haven't seen the draw to staying Disney there... but maybe I should look into it a bit more I think my favorite part of HHI is all the awesome restaurants!
