My advice? Get them a really, really tacky wedding gift. Something you made with glue, macaroni, and glitter, perhaps? Oh, no...wait!! Get them a Disneyland wedding-themed picture frame for their wedding.

HA! I got it.. get them a really, really obnxious out landish disney frame..that just screams "i love disneyland" and a micky and minnie mouse wedding figurine, a really, really big one! and make sure you tell them you expect to see it on their mantel above the fireplace every time you come over!

It sucks that you have to deal with that. Real friends respect you even if they don't always like the same things. In this case, it doesn't sound like they are very good friends at all.

In addition to not going to Hawaii, you might consider hacking into foursquare yourself, and posting about how much fun you are having at their wedding. All the while you are kicking it at Disneyland with some good friends...

Personally, I also think that you're being a bit sensitive about this, but then again I was sort of raised in an atmosphere that was mostly guys (Dad, brothers, etc.) so maybe my perspective is a bit different. Also, I guess without knowing the other things that they do or have done it's hard to say. Their intent is most likely not to hurt you, but just to poke a bit of fun which I would say they probably would expect in return if there was something about them to poke fun about. It's just the sense of humor that a lot of guys have and I doubt that they know that it bothers you seriously like that.

That said, if it DOES bother you that much, then they should respect that. Make your feelings known in a lighthearted way, if possible. Try to let them know without making too much of a production about it.

I would definitely say that this alone doesn't make them bad friends or justify cancelling the trip, but if they are overall bad friends in other ways too then I will chime in and say that your money would be better spent at DL!

I think you are being way too sensitive about this. They played a joke. You didn't think it was funny, but it's not like they graffitied "Mickey Mouse Sucks" on your car. Did they tell you they hacked Four Square? Did they tell you they did this as a joke to YOU? Maybe they were just playing with everyone on their friends list by telling everyone they were at DL? I think you are making a lot of assumptions about their actions and their intentions. I would just tell them that you didn't think their joke was funny and if they are friends, they won't do it again. They are your friends and you obviously know them better than anyone here, but I think you are making a huge leap to find something to get offended about.
