Disney has something HUGE happening! It's OFFICIAL...post #1

Oh, I would love to go during DDs spring break (March 21-28). Actually I'd love to go the week earlier to hit both kiddo's birthdays, but can't take DD out of school again. However, airfare would kill us. The cheapest I could find was SW at almost $500/person. We flew in Sept/Oct for just over $200/person. Don't think we'll get in on this one.

Would you consider driving?

I just booked DD14 and I for a super budget March 21-28 trip but I told her we will be driving from St. Louis. She did not like that idea but the other option is to not go! Hopefully gas will continue to go down or stay where it is. I have enough points to stay at a Holiday Inn and/or a Hilton hotel durning our travel. So my only expense is food and gas for a couple of days.

I am so excited :woohoo: we bought AP in October and have another family trip planned for next Oct but at these prices and $200.00 to spend on our food I would be crazy not to find a way to get there again.:yay:

OK does this sound right?? Seems a bit high to me for some reason.

Travel dates: March 21-28 2009 (2 adults 2 children ages 4 and 8)

Pop Century Standard View

7 nights/8 days

7 days tickets w/park hopper (do I really need this???)opinions please

Regular Dining Plan --DH says this is a must

Trip insurance (don't I get this benefit for having a Disney Visa?)

Total $2501.44 - $200.00 GC (so I guess $2301.44)

I think this is an EXCELLENT deal, especially including the dining plan! Now this is my personal opinion, but I don't think I would ever go without the Park Hopper, although I know many do. One example would be that when we go in November/December and Animal Kingdom closes at 5 most nights. Then what do you do? I know you could go relax at the resort or DTD or whatever, but wouldn't you like the option to go over to MK til midnight? Or spend all day at HS and run out of things to do, so hop on over to Epcot for Illuminations? So many options when you can hop as opposed to being at one park all day and maybe HAVING to go to a certain park because you made you ADR there? Just our families preference. For our family to hop, I think costs $240 extra. If we went to DTD for the evening or putt-putt or whatever, we would probably end up spending that much over the time we are there.

The website is down - at least for me. Too much traffic.

I'm so frustrated!!! I called last night, but the price I got online is almost $300.00 cheaper, but now I can't even get the Disney site to open!! :sad2:

Thanks....I think I am in hot water with DH right now...I thought this would be much cheaper and when I told him the cost he was like "WHAT???" , we are also going to Key West in July so he is wondering how I am planning to pay for all these vacations I suppose...hahaha Well thanks for assuring me that I did good on this deal.

I am gonna talk to him this evening and see what all he wants to do because I can make our dining ressies already too!!

THis is what my TA quoted me, what to you think?
March 29-April 5
family of 5
Port Orleans Riverside, standard view room with trundle bed: $2,330.28
This includes the water park and more option and we do not need the park hopper option.
These prices are a total for the 5 of you, and includes the resort room for 7 nights, all taxes and fees, 8 day basic park passes (good for one park per day) and some other fun items such as a 30 minute arcade pass and a round of miniature golf. It also includes use of the Magical Express, Disney's airport and baggage transportation, use of Disney theme park transportation and access to Disney's Extra Magic Hours, up to 4 extra hours per day in the theme parks

two years ago we went to POP for 8 nights with the free park hopper and water park upgrade and added the dining plan for a total around $2100 for 2 adults and 2- 7 year olds. I know it was 2 years ago but if we go this March for 7 nights and add the quick service plan without park hopper its just over $1900 at POP.
Does anyone know if there is a difference if I book through Disney.com or with a TA?

thanks

Sorry goofyboyzmom, no intention to question your Disney qualifications! I must have put your user name in there by mistake. Somebody asked that question and I think I was responding before I had coffee this morning. Sorry!

This question is foor those who had thier trip booked prior to the offer coming out yesterday and called WDW to have thier trip reflect the offer.

Have you checked your ressie on the website? I did and mine still reflects the old price? I am going to try and call WDW now to see what the deal is?

I'm answering my own post!! I called WDW and the change reflecting the new price had not gone through on thier end! Good thing I am anal and check and recheck everything! They fixed it and we are good now! So if you called and changed your prior ressie to reflect the new deal , I would double check to make sure it went through!!

I priced out my current January trip (3 nights All Star Music, 6 day park hoppers from Undercover Tourist, imaginery $200 that will be spent on food) and compared it to this new package (7 nights All Star Sports, 7 day park hoppers, $200 gift card) and the 7 night package is cheaper (this is for 2 adults). Crazy! We can't stay any longer because we rented DVC points for the 3 nights after that so are locked in. I could maybe go down a day or 2 early. It seems insane, but could I potentially book this deal and then leave the hotel 2 nights before my check out date to save some money? Doesn't make much sense:confused3

I just went from an 8 day stay with 3 day PH plus dining to 8 days, 7 day park hopper NO EXPIRATION! plus dining (my first day is a blackout day so it is a separate ressie) and still saved $560!!!

I am so excited!!!!!!!!
:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

then you add in the $200 GC and probably a free round of mini golf, $15 food GC at Planet Hollywood, Airline credit and frequent flyer miles and you got yourself a fairly inexpensive spring break getaway. :)

Still not sure I'm going , DH (who is not interested in going) might blow a gasket that I want to go again. :scared1:

I didn't need to give her the code that is listed on Mousesavers, the CM was very aware of this promotion. ;)

Sorry I was rushing had to take dd to therapy that was without the quick service sorry to make you go CRAZY!!! It was a preferred room for 2 ppl no quick svc soooo sorry! I screwed up! That's what I get for rushing! :(

No problem! I figured it out! Thx though, I hold no grudges

I booked this morning, the only value resort rooms left for our April vacation trip were All Star Sports, preferred rooms. Not our 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice :lmao: but, we'll take it.
