Disney has lost another family - do they care?

that sums up how I feel but every time I say something along these line of oh there were days with no FP or remember the e tickets I get ridiculed because oh we aren't in those times anymore. Hey there was a time without computers to and everyone survived. Now that a system goes computerized and allows for you to be more flexible people go nuts. You never had FP for parades and shows before now you do. You never had the ability to book FP 60 days out now you do. You never had the ability to change you FP to a time you wanted in the park on your smart phone now you do.
We're not in the days of FastPass1.0 anymore, either - but that doesn't stop people from brining it up over and over again ;).

So, moving backwards is a plus? :confused3

Disney is lucky to have customers like me. If they no longer value my business? I can easily spend my $$$$$ elsewhere. ;)
Okay. Spend your vacation money somewhere else. Many of the FP+ decriers are making similar threats online. That's not going to cause anything to change.

I have to agree with you. If all the recent reports here on the boards of crowds, as opposed to wait times, are even remotely true then Disney isn't going to miss the families on Disboards who say they're "never" going back.

:thumbsup2 Exactly this! If you want to take your money elsewhere and vacation in different destinations, then by all means do so. But communities like the DIS are not a true indication of the general populations' feelings. And for those that have said there are thousands of negative posts about FP+ on the WDW facebook page....people are MUCH more likely to report negative reports than positive ones. There could be 100, 200, 1000 good experiences for every bad experience posted.

My friend and her family are going to WDW for the first time in April and she had NO CLUE what FP+ was. It didn't impact her decision to go to WDW in the slightest. And when I explained to her that FP+ would allow her to book up to 3 attractions per day of her vacation she thought that was great. I'll be really interested to hear her experience because she is going over Easter.

Exactly. I don't get the comparison to before FP_. Usually when comparing something I take the latest version of a product and compare it to the new version. I totally understand some folks didn't know or use FP_....those folks might think FP+ is the best thing ever. Others think it's hogwash b/c it decreases our experiences. No one is ever going to win the other side over though. I do hope beyond hope changes are made to the current system b/c it stinks in my opinion.

Yes.

Look at this thread for instance.

384 posts from people who, for the most part, hate FP+

The thing is though, that fully HALF of the posts, 190 of them were made by a total of 10 posters.

Universal hate for FP+, OR, very vocal hate by a few?

If your friend does not use FP+ over Easter her trip will be a complete disaster. Easter crowds are horrible.

If the wait times today are any indication, WDW isn't exactly suffering  BUT there are very manageable wait times considering it is a holiday - for all those saying that FP+ is adversely affecting SB wait times.

Gee thanks so much for the warm fuzzies for my friend's trip :rolleyes2

I have warned her about crowds. She doesn't care about headliners, nor does her family. They are going to see Animal Kingdom and the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot. So a 3 hour wait at Soarin won't affect her at all :rolleyes1

I'm very confused. Star Tours is at 70 and Toy Story at 50? That can't be right.

Look at the MDE app. I wasn't lying. :sad2:

They have reversed now (Toy Story 70 and Star Tours 50) - does that satisfy you? Sheesh lol. My point was that not even all the headliners were at a 60+ min wait and it is a holiday.

TSM to be out of FP by12 most days.....I never had a chance

And why is that? What CHOICE did you make that prevented you from getting a TSM FP? Because unless someone was forcing you to stay in your room or blocking you from the FP machine, you had just as much chance to get one as any other family. :confused3

FP+ will change in the future what and how it will change is till a mystery but the luxury of the new system is that it will be easier to change something on this one as opposed to the old one because its all computerized and what not. The whole concept of MyMagic+ is really good. The problem is people who are used to getting 6+ FPs a day can't get that anymore. I'm sure disney has looked into the numbers and found that three was a good number. Very early in the test of FP+ they gave out 4 to some guests but they haven't done anything else with that.

Wasn't looking for satisfaction.. just pointing out something that looked odd.

I guess the fact that it reversed already is abolute proof that Disney does monitor these forums. ;)

Except the family who's visiting DHS only once, on arrival day. Or the group who drives from a distant point in Florida or a nearby state. Or the party who can't get out ofthe room early enough for rope drop for medical reasons. Or the second- or third-shift worker whose internal clock is on a different schedule.

You don't seriously think Disney is making wait time corrections to the app within seven minutes based on message board posts, do you?

I think that there are is an obvious fla with the FP+ system rather like the old ADR system.

With the old system you had to be in the park to grab your FP so chances are that you would use it or pass it to another family as you were leaving (spreading the Magic in my terms, a hanging offence according to others!). Now you can merrily sit at home and book your FP without any idea whether or not you will visit the parks.

Tomorrow I leave for a 5 night trip. On a UK package I could have a 14 Day Ultimate for less than a 5 day MYW as part of the offer so that's what I have. I can book FP+ for my arrival day although I don't land until 6pm and I can merrily book for 14 days even though I am only on site for 5 days. I have just tried this out just to see if it works and it does. This means that people who are staying for a couple of weeks can book FP+ everyday on the off chance that they may go to a park that day, however they may decide to go to Universal, stay by the pool or hit the shops instead. I think this will actually block people getting FP+ on the day.

Offsite guests can book FP+ ahead of time from March (I know several English families who have this information on their MDE) so Disney don't even know when they will actually be visiting the parks. I wonder if booking a FP+ will mean that a day has been used off the ticket even if you don't go through the Turnstile.

Is that a serious question? I thought the use of the 'wink' emoticon would make it obvious............
