Ok- So I am in desperate need of hair help. EVERY time we go to WDW my hair ends up a shambles. I have naturally wavy hair that I straighten. Now I know some of you may tell me to go with wavy hair and not fight it but it is not cute ringlets like my girls' it is a big ball of FRIZZ! Does anyone else have this problem that could recommend some Magical product? My flat iron helps- but very little in all that FL humidity. I just want to look cute in our family pictures. HELP!!!!

I have fought that same problem my entire life! I have a slew of products that I love and use...I usually use at least 4-5 products in my hair each day  I would be happy to go and look and get you a list :), but I do use some very expensive products which is not for everyone, but I do have some that I like that I get at Walmart. However what I find works best for me is to put in the product and let my hair dry naturally or just pull it back in a ponytail or barrettes.
I had this great  plan when we went to Tahiti and had my hairdresser straighten my hair using brush and flat iron, it looked gorgeous! Well that lasted until about 10 minutes after getting off the plane in Tahiti, my hair quickly snapped into lots of ringlets!!

I would wet the hair pony tail and wrap a bun. then use a hair piece from either a Rite Aide or sallys beauty supply to the bun. No matter what hair color you can find them. I have odd shades of light brn, blond, graying ivory boonde, the frosted matches great. I bought several straight , waves, and they clip on or have a band to go over the bun.

I use them for work for a nice fast to go style and no one knows for sure.

i have naturally wavy and frizzy hair and i use garnier fruitis products, it takes frizz away and makes hair easy to manage

I feel your pain. I had always had the same problem until this last trip. My hairdresser talked me in to getting A Keratin Complex Relaxer treatment. It was a huge splurge for me but well worth it. I would wash and dry my hair every evening before dinner, there was no need for the flat iron, my hair would stay straight and frizz free for the entire night. I would wake up in the morning with straight non frizzy hair, shower without washing my hair and my hair would stay straight and frizz free all day long. It was truly a dream come true for me. Also I can now wash my hair and let it air dry, it will have soft curls with no frizz. I love it!

When we go to disney I pull my girls hair into a ponytail. Then I bunch the hair and reponytail it. (It looks like a messy bun) Then we take bobby pins and pin it to their heads. It looks like a messy but cute up do. Then we take bows (we bought on ebay) and put it in front. We got lots of comments from the characters, strangers, etc.. asking where we got the bows and how we did their hair. We actually have a few characters in the middle of parades come up and ask while they were in the parade. It looks cute even when it starts to fall because it's suppose to have the "messy bun" look. If anyone wants to see pics I'd be more than happy to share!

Oooh, I want to see!:cutie:

I was just talking to my SIL about this today-I also have naturally wavy hair that I straighten but if it's humid or we're in FL-WHAMMO-frizz-city! It's crazy and awful! I shy away from being in front of the camera because the hair is just distastrous! LOL! :rotfl:

I looked into the "good" Keratin treatment around here and there's a salon that does the new one that doesn't damage the hair about an hour from my house but it's $650!  It lasts 3 months. DH is not going for it :( :rotfl:

Last year I lived in my Red Sox baseball hat :rotfl: :rotfl: and ponytails as well as the fake-hair scrunchies noted above.... looks like it'll be the same this trip too....:rolleyes1

GOOD LUCK!!!!

Glad to know that I am not the only one with the natural curls. Hated them all of my life until the last 5 years or so. I went yesterday and got it colored and had my stylist remark over and over how blessed I was to have all these curls.

Well, with the increased humidity lately I have been washing/conditioning it and then when I get out of the shower, putting conditioner in it and leaving it there and then pulling it up in a ponytail. It actually looks really cute. Most of the time I just put mousse in it and let it air dry. I am completely no maintenance so this seems to be the best for me.

$650??? My goodness, that's just nuts. Mine was $300 plus tip and I thought that was outrageous.

I have to say I love my curly hair and would not want it any different! But that was not always the case :) Sure it is a pain in the *** at times, but who doesn't have bad hair days. The key for me is not just the products that I use, but really my hairdresser. He does an awesome job cutting my hair and for the few times I went to someone else because I wanted to save some $$, I noticed a difference in my hair. So my advice is not to just look at products, but find someone who really knows how to cut curly hair :flower3:

I could have written this myself word for word.
I am doing clips and waves. No choice. I tried for too many years and it always winds up frizzy and wavy again with no matter what I used!

I was just going to post this SAME THREAD! :rotfl:

I realized I needed to do this, when I spent last night on the beach at a party. It was 95 degrees here with 100 percent humidity. I blew my hair out and straightened the heck out of it with my flat iron before I went. I used John Frieda's FRIZZ EASE and I HOPED it would work for the humid night.

NO WAY!!!!!!! My hair was an ABSOLUTE FRIZZ BALL!!!!!!!! :scared1: I have the most ridiculous, frizzy hair, it's a mess.

I need some product recommendations! I am positive I'm not using the right product. I'd LOVE to get that hair treatment...but DH will NEVER EVER go for it! Put it this way...I usually frequent the BUDGET BOARDS! Need I say more? :rotfl2:

HELP!!!!!!

First... DON'T blow dry your hair. It will make the frizz worse, and dry your hair out too.

I have very thick, and pretty long (mid-back) curly, wavy hair. I used to fight it, but I don't anymore.
I shower at night, every night, but I only wash my hair every other day. It took a LONG time for me to stop washing it every day even though I'd been told by hairdressers to stop.
So now, when I wash my hair I put mousse in it. Right now I'm really liking Aussie's mousse with conditioner in it. I put a generous amount in and I clip my hair up with claw clips. I just scoop it into 3 or 4 clips and go to sleep like that. It's mostly dry by morning (as long as I shower early enough), and when I let the clips out I have frizz-free curls. Be sure your claw clips don't clamp too tightly because it can give you a headache.
On the nights I don't wash my hair I let it get a bit wet when I'm in the shower.. only a little, and I still clip it up. It looks just as good as the day before.

Sometimes I don't want so much curl, and I will use the flat iron, but only after my hair is dry. I won't blow dry my hair because I can't do anything with it afterwards.

At Disney I do wash my hair everyday. I can't help that because it's so hot and my hair gets sweaty.. yuk!
I do the same thing as at home, but in the morning when I let my hair down, I then put it back up in a cute scrunchy letting all the curls just bounce around. If it's really hot I scoop it around into a bun and put the srunchy around it, and I'll steal my dd's princess tiarra hair comb (sold everywhere in Disney) and put it in front of the bun. It may be a little too princess-ey for an adult, but Hey I'm in Disney.. who cares! And it does look cute :)

I also bought a longer clip with Mickey ears at one end this year (again, in lots of the stores), and I rolled my hair on the back of my head with the tail facing up. I clip it with the long clip and let the top just 'flower' out at the top of my head and some of my hair falls down around the back of the clip too (remember I have long hair).
One poster said to buy the hair piece clips. You can buy the ones at disney that have small colored ribbon and small braids hanging in with the hair too. It's the same hair piece you get at the BBB.

Lots of things you can do to stay cool and look cute, even with curly, pain in the butt hair!

Have fun.

That's what the article said in the newspaper about 2 months ago :confused3that was catering to new and upcoming things for women. It was the "newer", healthier Keratin straightening and of course the salon is in Boston so everything in Boston is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I used to have the same problem...never did find a solution.I finally cut my hair in a cute pixie cut 2 years ago.I do miss the long hair, but everyone around me says I look much better with short hair.Everytime I get the urge to try and grow it, I think back to the battle of the frizz.

I would love to see some pictures. I just got my hair cut right above my shoulders. I have really think wavy hair. I hate having it down when I'm hot because no air seems to get to my neck and the hair underneath gets sweaty and starts to curl.

Thanks everyone for all your tips. I am going to look into that hair treatment in the next few weeks for our trip I can control my hair at home in southern PA but at WDW it's a whole different ball game. I hope to have stylish hair pics to share withyou when I return home from our trip to the POLY- SO EXCITED!!!!!

I do the ponytail or messy bun almost every summer Disney day. If you really want to wear it down (I don't recommend it in the heat), put some mousse in it while it's damp and let it air dry. It'll be a little curly but manageable. However, the heat will inevitably get to you. Just pony tail it :)
