A couple of questions, please....
Can you purchase Disney transfers one way only (like to the ship from MCO, but no return-- we're renting a car and staying an extra day)?
If you take the Disney shuttle to the port, do you get there early enough to make ressies? (We're staying the night before at the Hyatt)
THANKS!!! :)

The short answer is yes....

You can buy the transfers one-way either direction.

The first bus leaves MCO around 9:30 or 10:00, so you can get to the port as early as you like (the port opens around 10:30). If you get there early, you'll be close to the front of the line to board, so you shouldn't have any trouble getting ressies.

Hope that helps.

I am trying to figure out my options for getting back to Orlando airport too. I will have a rental car getting there, and was thinking of keeping it and paying for parking at the dock. (it is $10 a day; we have a 3 day cruise.)

Thanks!:wave2:

Right now, one-way transfers are $25 per person. Roundtrip is currently $49 per person.

I have been looking and looking and looking for that info. Where did you get it? Thank you very much. Now I can try to make some decisions.

I remember it from our last set of cruise docs, and there have been several posts here on the DIS. I also seem to remember seeing it in the back of the printed DCL brochure. Keep in mind that they can raise the price anytime they like, so if you want to use a transfer, I would have it added to your booking now.

If you don't want to use the transfers and will already have a rental car, it would probably be cheaper to drop off the car at the port and get another when you return. With the cost of the rental and the $10/day parking, it would probably be close to $150 to have the car sit in the parking lot.

We used Budget the last time and it was very easy. Avis and Hertz are also near the port and they all provide free shuttles to the ship.

If you're staying at the Hyatt, DEFINITELY spring for the transfers. You leave your luggage outside your hotel room with the DCL tags on it and it Magically appears in your stateroom that afternoon on the ship. You get to watch a DCL video on the way over and you can watch for the ship as you near the port instead of having to watch the hiway. For my money, definitely worth the $$$.

you book your own hotel at Disney, you may purchase the transfer from a Disney Resort to the pier at a rate of

$25.00 per person each way. You would need to be at one of the properties that Disney offers the land/sea package at, as these

are the only resorts they will pick up at on the way to the pier. The resorts they use are the Port Orleans Riverside, the

Port Orleans French Quarter, the Caribbean Beach Resort, the Polynesian, the Grand Floridian, the Animal Kingdom

Lodge or the Beach Club. If you don't stay at one of those properties, you may take a taxi from your resort to one of the

ones mentioned above to catch the transfer.

Does anyone know if I can leave my luggage at the Hyatt the night before if I purchased Disney transfers but I'm not staying at the Hyatt? We're a group of 9 and we'll have day bags with us for the day as we're renting a car for one day. The size of the rental care will be different if we have all our luggage. Thanx!

I am pretty sure that this is what I am going to do.
Rent a car from Enterprise for 5 days (We arrive on the 17th and go home on the 22nd) I have a $20 coupon, so the total is $112.

The Comfort Inn at Cocoa Beach offers free parking and a free shuttle to and from the pier. Their rate is $68 a night.

This comes out to about $12 more than returning the car and shuttling back to Orlando Airport. As we are flying on Buddy Passes (free), and on standby, we want to get to the airport as quickly and effortlessly as possible, meaning jump in the car and go! I love having the rental car.

Thanks to you all and enjoy your cruise.:wave2:
