Welcome! The folks on this board are really good with specific questions (How long does the ceremony last? Can I upgrade my cake? Is it OK to wear wedding attire to dinner inside the park? etc.), so fire way!
I was just referring to anything that may be commonly overlooked. I have reviewed all the websites and have lurked here for quite some time. I have even talked to my Disney Wedding Planner a couple of times. I just feel like there is something I need to ask that I have not addressed.
Uhm, can you give us the details of your plans then? How many people, are you having a reception or dessert party, are you doing a park photoshoot, etc? I'm not sure there are any specific things that are commonly overlooked.
Well lets see. Not much to tell yet. Only immediate family of about 10 people. No dessert party planned right now. Since the party is so small, we are thinking of having a reception......(although it would actually just be a family meal) at the Whispering Canyon Cafe. I know that is not very traditional, but it will be lots of fun.
Not picked any music or anything yet. Have not scheduled a photo shoot. The wedding is my treat and my Princess is trusting me with it so I am scared to death of forgetting something.
I second the Passporter's Guide to Disney Weddings and Honeymoons. Also, have you thought about starting a planning journal? That way you can tell us each step of the way when you have decided on something or is having trouble with details and maybe someone on the boards can help you out? Otherwise, not sure how else to offer you anymore information.
I think the great thing about the Escape package you've chosen is that in includes all the most important things for a small wedding. I love that you care enough to worry that you are missing something, but I think the beauty of the Escape is that it includes all the basics. I've read about a lot of weddings here that were Escapes with no extras that sounded just beautiful!
I also recommend Carrie's Passporter Weddings Guide. It's packed with information and ideas.
I think the best questions you can ask are probably questions for your Princess. What's the most important thing to her? Is she really into Flowers? Is she a HUGE Mickey and Minnie fan? Does she LOVE the castle? Are pictures the most important thing? What's important to her may drive some of your questions...to make sure you are getting her the wedding that will make her dreams come true.
Good luck! I'm sure your wedding will be beautiful and she will love everything you have planned!
Thanks, Guys. That makes me feel a little better. I downloaded the Passporter and put it in a binder with a few other Disney wedding related things and I am going to make it part of her Valentine's Day present. Hopefully I can pick up on some ideas she might have as she is looking through it.
I do know that pictures are a huge deal to her. She is constantly snapping pictures with her phone, and we have never gone to DW without ending up with at least 2 Photopass discs.
