Disney Grand Californian Check Out Question

We are spending a few days in California to break up the flight from FL to Hawaii this June. I already booked my week at Aulani. My booking window is coming soon for DGC. Assuming I get the dates I want my question is will they hold your luggage on check out day for a few hours? Originally I was going check out on Friday which is the same day I check into Aulani. This would cause me to rush out super early on Friday and get there later on Friday to Aulani. I would essentially lose a day at both stays. I was thinking about moving my stay up one night and checking out on Thursday. This way I could enjoy the resort for longer on Thursday and then just stay by the airport on Thursday night and catch a super early Friday morning so I can arrive to Aulani early. The plan sounds great to me as long as they will store my luggage for a few hours. Walking around the resort with all our luggage will not work. Anyone who knows the answer please let me know.
Thank you!!!!

All Disney hotels have bell services which would hold your luggage for you so yes, that's no problem.

If you can find a red eye flight to Hawaii (and we have done them before) it sounds like a plan. Too much time at the airport though and I'd just book a night at one location or the other.

Just did that exact thing a month or so ago, and also on previous trips. I just check my luggage with bell services, spend whatever time I want at the resort/parks, then spend the night at an airport area hotel that has shuttle service to the airport the next morning. I especially like that I don't have to worry about traffic on the way to the airport since I'm going there the evening before my flight.

We always try to make the most of our check-in and check-out dates since staying at the GC is expensive (in dollars or points). On that day you are checking out one option is to enjoy the pools and hot tubs. There is even a locker-room type restroom behind the slide where you can shower and change if needed before you head out to your next location.

Red eyes are typically only for eastbound flights. Not sure there would be any from west coast to Hawaii. Should be plenty of flights that leave at crack of dawn, though.

No, not technically a red eye I guess. Late flight from West coast with late night arrival in HI. Extends your day a few hours rather than shorten it. As I mentioned - we've done that.

Yeah, but then you need a hotel for the arrival night (however late). I think that was OP's initial predicament.

I realize that what I really was saying is I'd have a room for the night. :goodvibes

And re-reading the OP the concern was rushing to leave DL early and getting to Aulani late. With the time change, depending on flights, they can leave DL later on Friday and get to Aulani late Friday - so actually not a lost day. I'd do that before spending the night at LAX. ::yes::::yes::::yes::
