This has been coming for MANY years. I always say "NEXT TIME we go to Florida we'll go to Universal". Of course I haven't ever done it or I wouldn't be begging y'all for help. I go to DW, check in and never step off property. This year I really think I should just go for it. I owe it to my husband and grown son to try it for a change. The thing is I despise thrill rides, ALL of them. I got tricked into going on Splash Mtn. once and after that drop I was a wreck the rest of the day. I avoid RnR, ToT, Space Mtn., Star AND Body wars. Did I forget any, well you get the picture. Everything else there is to do at Disney fills a week or more perfectly and I'm in my comfort zone. Am I wrong that US/IOA would be a frightning maze of things that would make me afraid. Our little girls would be begging to "go on rides" and my vacation would be just a long round of waiting in lines with all of them and then bailing to the exit to wait. It's not my turn to choose and I want to enjoy US/IOA, is there a way??? I don't mind splitting up in the parks, DH & DS thrill rides, me & the girls not doing that, but is there enough for "people like me to keep busy 3 or so days?

Are there still things you can do?- Yes. Enough for 3 days?-No. I love Universal and we do both every trip but not for 3 days. If one of your days is considered a pool day then yes. You will love Suess landing, jaws, ET, men in black, sinbad, shrek, jimmy neutron, and if you have young kids they will love Curious george play area.

Bottom line you will never know until you give it a try.:D

Yes, you should definitely still go. We can go for six days and love every minute of it, but then we will ride Men in Black for five hours in a row:p

There is a lot to see for wee little ones. There is a whole area perfect for them just to hang around and play and then see characters and the Barney show, etc. etc.

I would do two days max, realizing that it will be very relaxing. If you stay on site you will not have to wait for any rides since you get express lane access. This sure helps when you have little ones that get attached to one ride and want to do it over and over and over ( or big ones that want to do rides over and over and over!!!)

Yes, give Universal a try! You would probably enjoy most of the attractions at US, not a lot of thrill rides there. IOA has the Dr. Suess area which is wonderful to look at - just like the books have come alive. In fact, all of the islands are beautifully themed and worth a look!

I go to US/IOA with a friend who does not like thrill rides. It's usually her idea to make a return visit!! We usually go for five or six days and are never bored. I usually go myself in the morning and ride all the coasters and then we meet at the parks about 10:00 and enjoy whatever we want. It's nice to have some down time at the pool and just to explore and enjoy the atmosphere.

U will love universal and maybe spiderman at IOA definetley seuss landing :jester: but as stated better to try it and see :jester:

You all forget that Universal has some good shows that are worth checking out... ;) :p :p If you like music and dancing, you'd enjoy Ghostbusters Show, Beetlejuice's Graveyard Revue, Blues Brothers, and possibly Street Breakz (breakdancing). If you're looking for a fun show with humor and is in the AC, check out the Horror Makeup Show. Animal Planet Live and Barney are both cheesy, but good for the kids.

Basically, when people love thrill rides, sometimes they miss out on things such as the shows. :)

And I agree with the other posters as far as the play areas, Seuss Landing, Jaws, ET, MIB, etc.

I would think that Shrek and the Terminator would be fine too. These are 3-d shows and not particularly wild on the audience IMO.

Twister is a display of sorts and Earthquake is like a souped up Catastrophe Canyon. Maybe those would be all right too.

You can have a good time in Universal just exploring too. I particularly love the theming in several parts of IOA and in the New York part of Universal.
