Disney Giftcard Offer

Has anybody who owns DVC ever received the giftcard offer AFTER becoming a DVC member?

The one I am referring to is the one where you pay $395 and get a $500 shopping card.

We have only gone on a few DVC trips so far, but have not been offered that for the DVC stays.

And, I know they were being sent out to others who were booking regular Disney trips as I had a friend to to Disney last summer, around the same time as me, and they received the offer.

That is a Walt Disney Travel Company promotion for booking a package through them, so not available for DVC points stays.

I'm not sure if you're asking what I think you're asking, but it just means you pay $395 as part of your package and they give you a $500 gift card when you check in.

Yes, that is exactly what it is. Or you could pay $695 for a $1000 giftcard/shopping card.

I like this one lol. I'm confused though as to who gets these offers or if it's just a random thing to certain DVC members. I mean do you have to buy a package or something to get this or is it just something they send you randomly? Still so confused lol.

It is typically offered a few weeks before someone travels. Those that have booked their packages through Disney are sometimes sent this email.

Since DVC points reservations are not booked through Disney travel, we would not be given this promotion.

It would be nice, though!!

We went in December 09 to Disney before we were DVC members and we booked using a pin we got. 2-3 weeks before we were supposed to leave we got this offer. It isn't a pin code, and at the time they were sending it to many people. I don't know if they are still doing this offer, and I'm assuming they weren't sending it to DVC members but I don't know that for sure.

Ahhh ok this makes more sense now. Thank you so much for clearing that up for me. I thought that was a nice perk we got or something lol.

Not always. I received this offer in 2009. I received the offer in April and was not traveling until December. My in-laws received one and did not even have a trip booked.
