Yes, you will purchase onboard credit (OBC) using the gift card. The OBC is used to pay for DCL excursions, and onboard charges (booze, upcharge dining, specialty coffee...)

Excursions will be charged to your onboard account once you are on the ship. If you don’t want to purchase Onboard Credit before the cruise, you can go to Guest Services after you board and apply your gift card to your account.
