Sure. After you fill 5 prescriptions at a Target Pharmacy, Target mails you a coupon for 5% off any one day's purchases. You can pay for your prescriptions any way you want (i.e. cash, credit, insurance, HSA account, etc). The 5% coupon does have an expiration date, usually around 6 weeks from the time you get it. And, you can re-use the coupon as many times as needed in one single day. There is also a code for using in online (still has to only be 1 day). Also, you must sign up for this program - it is free, but you still need to sign up for it. Obviously if you hardly ever need to fill a prescription, this probably isn't the best savings method for you. But with our family of 5 we generate about 4 coupons a year so it works ok for us.

We leave in 2 weeks and I will have bought $2500 in disney GC at Target over the past year using the pharmacy and red card combined. The 9.5% discount saves me $237, enough to cover 2 of our character meals. Yes, it is annoying to lug around 50 GC but I figure a couple of hundred dollars in savings is worth it. Also, I only buy the GC when I have a pharmacy discount.

Nice savings! What's crazy is after I found out what the pharmacy card was I asked my sis about it. I'm trying to figure out a way to take my sis, BIL, niece and 2 nephews this Oct. My sister just text me that she got a 5% pharmacy card today in the mail. I'm taking that as a sign we should get this party started!

Yes, refills count too. My son is on a regular medication so that's a lot of how we get our coupons.

I did use our Disney rewards Visa card but this rocks that by far. Since we have the DDP and it is paid for will they accept gift cards to pay for tips? Also is there a limit on how many gift cards you can use to pay your resort package? We still have about $1300 to pay?

Has anyone ever tried Walgreen's Balance Rewards? Just wondering if it'll work or not. For 5,000 points you get $5 off at the register. You can earn 500 points for every prescription refill. If it works, it's one way to get 10% off a $50 gift card!

I just checked the Terms & Conditions for Walgreens and it says that they can't be used to purchase gift cards.

Yes, you can pay tips on gift cards.

I do not know of a gift card limit. I think I used 17 to pay off our trip.

It is worth mentioned I've heard you want to make sure and keep your gift cards if paying off a package. If you have to change they put the funds back on that gift card. If the card is gone that might be an issue.

Those that bought 30-50 gift card. How long did it take to pay off your package when talking to the CM on the phone. I'm dreading that call Or can you do it online?

For those of you who realize that the 5% red card discount plus 5% pharmacy discount is a 9.5% discount and not 10% thank you for restoring my faith in our education system!

When paying by phone, it takes a while. You need to read the card number and scratch off for the PIN number as well. Cast members are used to it and mine was friendly enough about it. And no mistakes between the two of us!

I called and paid for our AOA suite and part of our son and DIL's with gift cards. I had over 80 of them! Took a long time but the CM was sooooo nice and patient! It all went smoothly. Since then I've been paying off the rest of our trip with a few gift cards at a time online, as I buy them. You can't do that with RO reservation I don't think, but you can with a package. That's time consuming too because you have to enter each card separately. But it works!

I have the redcard debit and just got a pharm reward (for signing up online) and I want to buy 120 to pay off the trip and have enough to pay for all of dining/alcohol etc.

I'm a bit anxious that even though my account has the money available the redcard won't go through for such a high purchase (especially with the recent fraud breach). I've had my redcard for a couple years and I use it every couple weeks for groceries and such, but I think the most I've ever spent at once is probably $500 (and it wasn't on gift cards ). I'm also curious if my store will even have that many in stock (although I have several others in my area I could run around to if needed).

I figure, for a savings of nearly 9.75% it is worth the effort.

Check with your bank to see what your daily debit limit is - there might be - or to give them a heads up that this is what you plan to do. You don't want to get to the end of your transaction & it lock up & not complete.

Duh! (This is what happened when I forget coffee in the morning) I should've mentioned I planned to call the bank and have our limit lifted for the day and we were going to tell them the deal. We have a small bank with only a couple of branches so we can get awesome, personal service whenever we call (and they're actually open ).

I was thinking about calling Target's redcard debit dept. too and letting them in on it as well, but from reading old threads on here, it sounds like they can't help you or tell you if the transaction will go through or not. Apparently it's some secret algorithm. I'd be fine with the redcard locking up *if* a manager came over and allowed my regular debit to go through which is also attached to my bank account and gave me the discount (I read about some people encountering this issue and that happening).

I wonder if it would be worth it to try to make this purchase over at Guest Services and let a manager know ahead of time since we're talking about $6K?

I'm sure I'm probably over-analyzing but I know this is my only chance to use the pharm rewards so I want to make it count.
