Disney Gift Cards from grocery store (Giant Eagle)

Hello to all of the fellow Buckeyes!! We actually save the cash, run over to Giant Eagle and purchase the gift cards (thank the Mouse for the $500 cards) put it on our Disney Visa (more reward dollars) then deposit the cash into the bank and pay our Visa bill. So we get the fuel perks and the reward dollars on Disney Visa. Works great!!

This is my plan as well :) My GE also has Universal gift cards which I plan on buying to get the Universal one day ticket, and I'll probably get some for souvenirs too.

In my experience, there's no premium.....you want a $50 gift card, it costs $50, no tax added.

I bought $4000 from Kroger this summer and paid for our September trip with them!

I paid off my room-only reservation about two weeks ago with 17 Disney gift cards, all on the same day, same phone call. I warned the CM up front, but he took them all. I'm sure he had a great story to tell in the breakroom.

Being that I'm from the Pittsbugh area, this is really helpful info.

I don't have a Disney Rewards credit card yet, but I think I'm going to get one.

So it looks like the plan is as follows:

1. Use the Disney Rewards Card to buy Disney Gift cards at Giant Eagle (or similar store). This way, you get REWARDS on Disney rewards card AND FUEL PERKS;

2. Use the Disney gift cards to pay for Disney trips, merchandise, dining, etc.;

3. Pay off the Disney Rewards Credit Card instantly so that you don't incur charges;

Can I pay off the Disney credit card with another credit card? :confused3

Am I missing anything?

Mike.

On the last trip in April 2011, I bought all my giftcards at Giant Eagle, got the gas points, and then used all the gift cards on property- worked out just fine.:cool1:

I buy gift cards from Giant Eagle ( or Kroger) all the time for our trips! I even have paid our cruises off with gift cards! (Dreams Unlimited told us cards have to be 100.00 or more.) I use my Amex and get 5% cah back, so double bonus! free gas and money back!!

we pay for all of our tips, souveniers etc too. We charge everything to our room and the night before we check out, we go to guest services and pay the bill with our gift cards.

like the previous posters have said.. just save the cards just in case there is a need for a refund.
