Disney Gift Cards at Downtown Disney?

I'm working on planning my food/souvenir budget for my trip in February and have a question.

I know in Orlando almost all the places in Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney there) will take Disney Gift Cards. Will they take them in Downtown Disney in California? My preference is to get gift cards and combine them onto one or two, but if they're not accepted, I'll look into other options.

Thanks!

World of Disney takes the gift cards. I don't know of any other shops in DTD that does. The restaurants do not, but the hotel restaurants/bars do and those are often better than DTD.

Thank you both!

Maybe I'll look into prepaid Visa cards - I know there are some that you can add money to. It's just nice to have the food stuff already paid for.

DTD locations that accept Disney gift cards: World of Disney, Marceline's, Wonderground, Disney Home Store, Star Wars Trading Post. As noted above, the Disneyland Hotel and Grand Californian restaurants also take Disney gift cards. I don't think Paradise Pier currently has any on-site dining. If the location is not owned and run by Disney, then they don't accept Disney gift cards even if they are located in downtown Disney. There are no downtown Disney restaurants that take Disney gift cards.

Thanks. So weird that none of the restaurants in Disney Springs are Disney-owned but they all take them. I'm glad I thought to ask before putting all/the majority of the food money for the trip on Disney Gift Cards. Something I'll definitely put in any trip report I do as that would likely be for a board of WDW regulars who are used to being able to use them anywhere on property.

I've often wondered if this has something to do with the DDP; the Disney Springs restaurants have to be able to accept dining credits so there is already some degree of integration between the restaurants and Disney payment systems.

Makes sense.
