So, maybe I'm just an old guy who's not too savvy here, but I can't seem to figure out how to roll my $100 & $50 Disney gift cards into a series of $1000 gift cards on the website.

I have an account and a few handfuls of $100 & $50 cards...now what?

Step by step:

1. You first have to add all the cards to the account. This is a manual process, and you will need the card number and the security code for each card. These are printed on the back of the cards.
2. The account may only accept five cards at a time, so you might need to do it in batches.
3. Let's say you add five $50/$100 cards at a time. Add them, and choose one of the cards to be the primary card.
4. For the other four cards, transfer their balances to the primary card one by one. This can be done using the 'Transfer Balance' link below each listed card.
5. Once done with those four secondary cards, delete them from the account. Save the physical cards just in case.
6. Add the remaining cards with balances as secondary cards to the account. Rinse and Repeat.

All said and done, your primary card should end up with the entire balance (max $1,000). You will then provide just this card's number to your TA or Disney for payment.

Log into your account
Get a magic marker and "name" ONE of the cards (WDW1, Cruise1...) for the rest, "name" them 2,3,4,5,...etc.
Scratch off the back of the card for the last four card number and the code
On the left side of the screen: Enter the card "name" (WDW1)
Fill in the card number then the code...
Check the right side screen, make sure the name and amount of the card is correct
Under the card name and card number it says Make Primary (in blue letters) Make it primary.
Left side of the screen: put in card 2, card number, code... Check the right side of the screen the card name and amount are correct
put in card 3, card number, code... check the right side of the screen
put in card 4.......
put in card 5.......
STOP
All the slots are full, now you need to transfer to WDW1
Look at card 2, it says Transfer Balance, hit it
New screen pops up
check the information on the left side of the screen that card 2 and the amount are correct
check the information on the right side of the screen that WDW1 is correct and the transfer amount will add up correctly
Transfer
Back to main screen
Card 2 should show a balance of 0.00 and WDW1 should have the amounts of WDW1 plus card 2
Under Card 2 there is a delete button
STOP and make sure you are deleting card 2 with 0.00 balance
Delete
Repeat for cards 3,4,5
After card 5 is showing 0.00 and you deleted it, you should only have WDW1 showing on the right side of the screen with the amounts of WDW1+card2+card3+card4+card5. Do the math ahead of time to make sure you are correct.
Put a zero on cards 2,3,4,5 so you know they are zero balance.
Repeat for cards 6,7,8,.....
When you are done, take the marker and write in the corner of WDW1 the total amount the card has on it and put it a safe place. Tell at least one family member where the "safe place" is, (just in case).

You don’t need to add and delete the cards that you are only using to transfer money from. I add one card (name it), then under the “manage cards” drop down menu select “transfer balance”. On the right it will say “transfer balance TO”. On the left it says “transfer balance FROM”, and at the bottom there is a button that says “enter card information”. Click that and then you enter the numbers and click the “transfer balance” button on the right to confirm. No need to save the card on the site if you’re just going to transfer the $ and then trash it.

One useful bit I forgot to add.

Create a spreadsheet of all card numbers and their security codes. This can be done as a part of Step 1 above. You enter the numbers and codes manually only once in the spreadsheet and then just copy and paste that information on the website.

In your spreadsheet, you can also add all kinds of metadata, such as where you bought the card, or when you bought it, or whichever is the primary card, etc.

If you lose the cards or need that information later, you will have always have it handy!

Do you suggest deleting the primary card from the site once the transfers are done?

You can delete it or leave it; it doesn't matter. The main issue would be that you only can have 5 cards in the system; if you wanted to add additional cards you might need to clear the old ones out. Having said that, you can always put it back on the website later if you needed.

I would keep that primary card as you can use it again in the future. I have had the same primary card for years and just add to it as needed.
Thank you, I can't believe I haven't been using gc to pay for more than in park purchases all these years.

Thank you! I worked this today. It's so nice to save a few $$ getting gc at club / wholesale stores, be able to transfer the amount of them all into one card, then do it all again.

I would leave the primary card on the site. It will give you an up-to-date balance that Disney sees on the card. Not to mention a second check against your own spreadsheet. If a refund is made, you will also see it reflected online immediately.

Yup, and if you aren't buying them discounted, buy them at a retailer that your credit card places into a bonus category. If done correctly, you can rack up enough points to pay for most of your flights.

I had no idea! All this time I've been adding a primary, then 4 more, transferring and deleting...adding 4 more, etc... I can't wait to try this way when I start paying of my next cruise. Thanks for the tip! :goodvibes

THanks. I will check this as I add each card and it's time consuming.

Or get another email address and create a new account on disneygiftcard.com. That way you could keep 5 cards active for each of your email addresses. Just need to remember multiple accounts.
