Disney Gift Card Question

I have approximately 10 Disney gift cards that I have received on past birthdays and Christmases which I've been saving since my last trip. If I go to my resort concierge or say, a cast member in one of the resort gift shops would I be able to consolidate the amounts of the 10 cards onto one card? We plan on using gift cards at the Food & Wine Festival, and keeping track of one card would certainly be easier than keeping track of 10! Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated. Anyone have any experience consolidating Disney gift cards? Thanks!

Just to add to that, you can consolidate cards even if they have been used. I had no issues consolidating remainders on a couple of cards onto another card. You are limited to having 5 cards in the system at a time, but you can still work around that. Once you have transferred the balance of a few cards onto a single one, you can delete the cards with a zero balance and then add new ones. In addition to using the combine card balances feature, managing your cards on the website is really useful because you can log in and view the balances on your cards at any time. I saw a tip on another thread that I thought was a great idea. Try and keep one or two of your zero balance cards and bring them on your trip. Keep one of them entered into your account on the website. If you lose the card with all of the money tied to it, you can simply transfer the balance of that card to the empty one you have loaded and then use that card instead.

Actually, that limitation won't really be an issue since you're not required to add all the cards before consolidating them. Just pick the one card you want as the master and add that one to the site. Once that card is showing up under 'My Cards' click on 'Manage Cards' at the top of the page and from that menu select the 'Transfer Balance' option. It will let you enter the information from the other cards you want to transfer from without having to actually add them to the system first. That keeps you from running into that 5 card maximum restriction.

Thanks for that! I didn't realize you could transfer a balance from a card that wasn't already stored in your account. Good to know.

Any time :)

I did like your idea of having a zero balance card entered in the system and with you as a backup in case the main card got lost. Hadn't thought of that but it's a great way to ensure you don't lose a high-balance card and get stuck taking it as a loss. Thank you!

You could also charge everything to your magic band then use the cards to pay the bill before check out.
