Disney Gift Card Deals

I've never used Disney GCs to pay for our vacations at WDW however I became quite intrigued when was reading around about it. I have read a lot of the posts on this thread and there is so much info! I have a question and forgive me if it's been addressed previously. This is my first time to purchase GCs and I don't want to mess up by purchasing the wrong cards!

We were at our local Krogers tonight and I could only find blister packs of $45 Disney GCs and I'd have to purchase loads of them to pay off our trip. I rounded the corner and saw a special display in the aisle and it had a different kind of Disney GC that I'd never seen before. Some of them were for 3 or 4 day WDW tickets with odd amounts for their dollar values and then there was this one pictured below (sorry if they are huge).

I know I kind of sound totally clueless when I ask this but here goes.. we're all "virtial BFFs" right? We can laugh together!

Is this comparable to a regular Disney gift card? I'm hoping to just be able to purchase 6 to 8 of these using our Discover cards and be done with purchasing Disney GCs.

I haven't seen this design at my local Kroger yet, I'm so sad :(

Not directly related to Disney GCs, but I figured you all may have the answer...

There's an RMN deal for $10 off $40 Lowe's online cashback today. I need to purchase a wheelbarrow and was going to buy from Lowe's, but it looks like I will need to do in-store pickup. Has anyone ever done an online order with in-store pickup and had it credit for RMN?

It worked for me back in September. I'm planning on doing an in-store pickup this time too.

It should work, but if it doesn't track, you can submit your order info to RMN for them to manually credit it. Technically, they have 45 days for it to credit, so customer service might tell you to wait that time, but you should be able to get the credit, even if it doesn't track properly to start.

This is where using RMN for legit purchases (rather than gift cards) comes in handy.

I seriously love this thread, and am now much more aware of how to get little bits of cash back here and there on the other things I buy. Shocking, I know, but my family actually does need things other than Disney GCs.

If we use an outside coupon (thinking quik coupons $20 off $100), will it negate the RMN $10 back similar to other rebate portals??

It says to "combine with other offers" on the RMN website, so I think you could make the argument that it shouldn't negate the RMN deal. Of course, who really knows. If it's a legit purchase then I'd be willing to argue it. I just stacked mine with my 10% Amex deal.

Just stopped in at Lowes and they did have the Kroger gift cards! I had the 10% offer on my Amex BCP. But I didn’t think to add a drink or candy bar until I’d already checked out, so the charge will just be $100 even. Think that will be a problem for me?

Can someone tell me if I'm missing something here?

For Disney tickets through Sam's club:
I wait for a dosh promotion for 8% or higher, buy Sam's club gift cards in store with my linked card.

Come home, use Sam's club through a cash back portal (Swagbucks, Ibotta, Ebates, whatever), purchase tickets and earn an additional 2/3% cash back.

Is there a reason that wouldn't work?

I was thinking about something similar today too. But you only get ebates when you purchase with a linked credit card, correct? So you wouldn’t get cash back if you pay with a gift card, I don’t think? I wasn’t sure what would happen if you paid mostly with a gift card but some nominal amount with your linked card (assuming you can even use multiple payment methods).

It didn't used to be like that for Ebates, can't say for sure if it changed, but looking at Swagbucks under Sam's cash back it says not eligible for gift card purchases but then "disneygal15" saved $4.something on Disney gift cards" as an example of cash back earned, so...

I think you can get cash back if you BUY gift cards (notwithstanding the exclusion language on ebates at least). I think the problem is you are PAYING with a gift card (instead of a linked credit card). I’ve never done this, so I’d love to be wrong!

Nope, it's never been a problem for me anywhere. I'm really lazy about adding anything extra on and have made multiple purchases of GCs from Staples, BB, etc. with no issues.

It hasn't been for me so far.

Thanks! I had been avoiding using Amex for gift cards during my MSRs but wasn’t sure if it would be an issue at other times.

Even with this verbiage as with many offers thru Ebates it is YMMV. Some here have stated they were able to get Cash Back however others were not so lucky. I see nothing relating to buying with a gift card but then wouldn't you have to link said gift card? Do Visa/MC/AM Ex gift cards track? I doubt that highly.

You would actually have to look at all cb portals exclusions to make that determination. And prior to pulling the trigger check again as these sites can add additional exclusions.

I used my Amex blue cash card, which is linked to my Dosh. And I opened my account thru the email link. Was that wrong?

UPDATE: I had to open a ticket. My purchase had not tracked, but they manually credited the $20. They explained that this can happen when you make a purchase immediately after linking the card.

Congrats on getting in on an amazing deal! I'm sure it was a bit stressful but you managed perfectly. :thumbsup2
