I stopped actively following this thread for a while and just picked back up a couple weeks ago. With many of the previous "churning" channels now closed, I thought 10% to be a decent deal. Target GCs + Red Card. Gone. Game Stop GCs to other GCs. Gone. Buying GC on eBay. Gone. What am I missing?

There are various methods that still work. A lot of people do the fuel rewards I don't. But theought amex offers and other GC offers I think 15-20% I the deals I usually go for. It depends how much time you have before your trip and other variables.

For me the 10% is free money on top of my normal 15%+ savings if they allow gift card purchase using a gift card. It's a no brainer. Just adds one more step.

I guess what I'm saying is, hasn't the 15%+ savings on buying gift cards in the first place dried up? My local grocery stores doesn't offer the 4x fuel perks (and I drive a Prius, LOL) and I don't have the AMEX Blue Preferred card, mostly because the annual fee. I guess I can look at it and see if I can replace my Costco Visa with it and bump back down to a regular Costco membership.

For some I guess it has. I have an Amex blue preferred and everyday and buy gift cards at Kroger. And I can use all the "free" gas I can get. So 15% is still pretty easy for me.

We don't have Kroger here and if my tank is running on fumes it's less than 12 gallons to fill and would only cost about $22 tops to fill it with today's gas prices . There is a local grocery that does have fuel perks but I have never seen them offer double or 4x perks. They offer 5-cents off per $25 gift card, so that's 55-cents tops in fuel so that's 2.2%. My credit cards will give me an extra 1% at grocery store so I would save maybe 3% by buying gift cards at the grocery. Not anywhere near 15%. Now I may swing by that grocery store and see if they have target cards and I might apply for the AMEX blue preferred since there is a signing bonus that will offset the annual fee this year. I should get it in the mail before the big Target sale.

@robinb the BCP is a great card, even with the annual fee. Between my sign up bonus, offer credits and my 6% cash back, I have earned about $600 this year and I have only had the card since July. Not too shabby. I only use my Costco Visa for gas at this point.

Thanks! This saves me $100 too (my card/DF's card), and it will save my MIL $50 (I watch for offers for her lol). I'm excited it works on gift cards because my bill comes to $94 a month

Thanks for the heads up on this. Just loaded it on two of my cards and paid 100.00 of my bill with each. Already got the AE confirmation e-mail. I'll probably wait and do the 2nd time on each tomorrow just to break it up. Since that's unexpected savings, I consider it "free money" and it goes straight to Disney fund. Trying to fund a complete trip with free or found money.

For those who combine Target gift cards, the limit is now $500 on one card, at least in central NY. I work at a Target and someone tried to buy a $1000 gc that wouldn't go through. My manager said that they got an email recently about the change. I don't think it's too big a deal now that they can't be used for Disney gc online, but I wanted to give you guys a heads up anyway.

For those that use Shopkicks I just noticed on the app there are a ton of stores that are doing 200 kicks for walk ins on Thursday and Friday (Target, Walmart, Macy's, Best Buy to name a few).

i've used these gift cards for paying my bill but you have to have a balance due. Which can be a problem if you are always using your Verizon account to meet minimum spends.

We just signed with Verizon a month ago or so. I've not been using it to meet min spend at this point. I have been wondering how to save additional money off my bill once the other AmExp 10% credit offer runs out in Jan. Sounds like the GC's are a good deal for me. Thanks again for sharing

Ok, I've got am AMEX / Verizon question. I noticed the 10% off your phone bill over, is still available, could you double dip on that with the new Verizon offer for the same transaction? Thinking of MIL... Her bill is around $120 I think.

I just got through talking with a Target supervisor and he confirmed that the $300 limit will apply but couldn't tell me the times on December 4 when the 10% discount will be applied. It sounds like no announcement will be made until next week, hopefully not the day before. Unless I hear otherwise, I'll assume that the times will be the same as last year; 6-noon on Dec. 4.

So I can load this offer to my amex and then log into verizon wireless and pay my bill with my amex and get the credit? Just making sure I understand.

That happened to me on my first bill. It credited 10/18 and 10/21 for the same bill. It hasn't been taken off as of yet, and my statement has closed a second time - the 10/18 credit was on one statement, it closed 10/19, and the 10/21 credit showed up. Now my statement closed again over the weekend.

I might give the double dip a shot with my MIL's account tonight, if she has a balance due. I'll report back

ETA: She doesn't have the 10% offer, d'oh! Sorry! I'll just show her the Verizon one.
