I have $100 GS from the last ebuck promo. If it's not pouring I'll swing by one of the stores I go to when I get off work and report back on what I find.

I just bought $500 on Monday at GS in the New England area. No questions, sideways glances, and no hesitation.

I live in the south east and it was only a problem yesterday and because of the system not the employee.

Just to add a little more data to this, I bought $300 worth of ebay GC during lunch at a gamestop in central kentucky. I used physical gift cards and the employee was new, but she didn't bat an eye.

It seems like the Gamestop register lockout is regional. I've read about people getting denied at certain locations that didn't care before on other forums as well. If you don't want to get stuck with GS gift cards, it seems like this would be the time to cash out (if you can).

Same here. I personally don't care about being stuck with Gamestop gift cards as I do not have any planned trips coming up. At worst case scenario, I would be able to buy and resell through ebay (becoming a true "reseller" I guess, haha). Or I could wait till a trade promotion at Best Buy comes up, purchase pre-owned games at Gamestop and trade them in at Best Buy to cash out on Disney GC.

Meanwhile, I just checked CashBackMonitor for rebates on Target, and did not see Ebates at all. I did see that TopCashBack will give 2% on Apparel, Shoes and Accessories, Baby Gear & Basic, Home & Outdoor, Housewares, Auto & Hardware, Home & Personal, Movies, Mobile, Fan Shop & Games. Not sure how well their algorithm works when you combine orders with things that are and are not on the list. I can say that I had good experiences with TopCashBack, and that they will give you a 3% bonus, if you withdraw your payout in an Amazon or AmEx gift card.

Just got back from GS and the system wouldn't allow using a GC to purchase an eBay GC. I'm now trying to figure out what to do since the employees didn't know if this is something temporary. Our trip isn't till December so I have time to figure it out.

Has your GS stores stopped accepting GCs for eBay only or all GCs? My local stores changed their policy sometime in the last two weeks and now won't allow GCs to buy eBay -- only cash, credit or debit -- but I can use GS GCs to buy most other GCs.

Giftcardgranny shows resellers will buy GS GCs at 83%. However, if your GS will still let you redeem your GC for a Shell or BP gas GC, I see giftcardgranny quoting 87% in cash for those. Take that cash, buy a discounted Target GC at Raise or Cardpool for 4.5-5% off, then pair it with the 5% REDCard discount to get close to your full value back in Disney GCs. Hopefully the eBucks and Ebates you've earned on the GS GCs will cover the 3-4% loss.

I love that GS's website says you can use GCs to purchase any of the GCs shown, including Shell. If the store gives you trouble, you could try showing them their own website!

P.S. You could try plugging into giftcardgranny any other GC that GS sells to see what has the highest resale value, but I think a gas card is up there if not the best value.

I didn't try buying a different gift card because the employees said this change applies to all GC's. Also, I didn't see anything I would use.

I just got back from GS and was able to convert $800 in gc to eBay gc with no issues whatsoever. I'm in Minnesota.

It used to be 3x$100 and 4x$50 in one transaction, but Target's been redesigning its website and some people have reported being able to buy more (like 10x$100?).

I'm planning on buying some Disney GCs soon. I'm holding off because Ebates is currently giving no cash back at Target. Some people have reported recently getting cash back from Ebates on the value of the GC plus add-on item(s) again so I'm giving it a few days to see if the "trick" is back or will be removed again.

I thought it had changed. Thx. I just ordered 2 $50 ones on 2 separate transactions today with a bunch of smaller denomination cards and they've already shipped. I need to start turning my cash to gc via Kroger-target-Disney since I'm down to a few months.

By 8/10. No one else seems to have this issue so I probably wouldn't worry about it.

I just went in Best Buy today and converted the last $400 I had from PPDG. Didn't buy eBay, because I don't want to mess with it. I bought $400 in Disney. I still have $60 in GameStop that I didn't have time to try and change. And my ebucks to spend.
