Disney Gift Card Deals

Just got back from GameStop where I converted $500 GC's back to eBay GC but I decided to divide it up between 2 stores that are less than a mile apart as this was my first time doing it and wasn't sure it would work. It went very smoothly. I just swiped each of the GC I had till balance was zero.

We get BJ's coupon emails, but not this one. I have tried to Google it with out any luck. Can you share the code or where you found it?
Well, the one I found online was actually expired! I didn't even notice it when I printed it. The cashier ended up giving it to me anyway. She said they accept expired coupons. :worship:So, I got $125 of Disney cards for $109 & change.

Next I was off to GS where I converted my $300 cards to eBay. No problems and the employee didn't even blink an eye. Very easy!

No, I already received the Ebay gift cards but they're still showing up as processing.

I agree. But I'm still hopeful that GCM restocks.
oh okay, I thought you were still waiting for the cards to arrive. Hmm well I guess we'll see, interesting you can't see the details and all.
Yep, I'm still optimistic GCM will restock! Still doesn't make sense they wouldn't sell them. Why wouldn't they want all those sales of target cards thru GCM? Well, hopefully one day soon!

Yesterday I did a few 'churns'. Went to Kmart to convert my Sears to eBay. It was a fiasco. The cashier struggled and at the end my eBay cards did not activate and the funds were gone from my Sears GC. The manager was helping by the end and she pulled me over to customer service. Could not get the eBay GC to activate, said it was a 'glitch in the system'. They eventually gave me Kmart GC.
I may try another Kmart this weekend while we are traveling. If not they said I could use the Kmart cards at Sears for the washer and drier I need. Ugg.

After that I ran to GS and easily switch $90 in GS GC into a $100 eBay card. The cashier didn't seem 100% confident in it and I would hate to be stuck with GS GC so that will have to be a very slow churn for me.

Next up to try BB.

May I ask what Kmart you were at? I think I travel to your area often, assuming your user name references Cape May.
It does but because Cape May is my happy place not because I live there-maybe some day if I hit the power ball :)

My son and I did the grand circle tour of four GameStops today. Started with the furthest out and ended up with the one closest to home.

Store #1 - Purchased one $300 eBay gift card. Swiped three GS gift cards. No problems at all.

Store #2 - Located inside the mall. Took three eBay gift cards up to the counter and asked for $100 on each. Swiped the first gift card in but it didn't reduce the amount owed. Cashier says I can't pay with GS gift cards. I asked if it was all gift cards and he said no, just eBay and Visa. Cancelled the transaction and moved on to the next store.

Store #3 - Took two eBay gift cards and one $25 "The Sims" cash card up to the counter and asked for $100 on each eBay card. Swiped two GS gift cards and paid the $25 balance with a credit card. No problems at all.

Store #4 - Took three ebay Gift cards and one Hulu Plus card up to the counter and asked for $100 on each eBay card. Swiped three GS gift cards in succession and paid the balance with my credit card. Cashier said that he'll let it go through this time since I already swiped the gift cards, but in the future I should be aware that I can't buy any of the variable load gift cards with GS gift cards.

So, I was able to convert $800 of the $1000 I have in GameStop gift cards to eBay. I think I'm just going use the remaining $200 and buy fixed amount gift cards for things we regularly use like Chipotle, Hulu, PlayStation cards, etc. and take the $200 I would have spent on that stuff and buy Disney gift cards at Target.com for the extra 5%.

We're cashing out everything to Disney except about $200 that we'll keep in eBay to cycle through Best Buy for a few eBay bucks.

I remember someone posting a link that compared all the cash back sites for each store. Been searching and can't seem to find that post. anyone have it handy and could post it again?

I have not been following the latest churning. Can someone explain the current Ebay/Game Stop or Ebay/Best Buy churn to me? Are you buying from eBay for eBay Bucks?
It's working differently for different people, so I am trying to write as generic a post as possible. Basically, if you want to buy a gift card that can be converted to another gift card, your choices are limited. Target will do that, but they don't have ebay cards right now. Ebay will do that - and will give you ebucks to do that, but not for more ebay cards. Some Gamestop stores will convert Gamestop to ebay; i don't think their online store does. Some Best Buy stores will convert to ebay or Disney; their online store almost always does NOT work.

The part that people have been focusing mostly this week is the different gift card stores on ebay.
GCM used to carry Target, and everyone is hoping that they restock SOON. Hopefully this instant.
PPDG sells Best Buy and several other popular ones, but when you try to use them, it usually locks up your ebay account and your paypal account, and neither paypal or ebay have been helpful. One person has been banned from Paypal, so many of us will only shop there once and then run away.
Cardency has been reliable , but doesn't have a lot of stock.
ngc is the newest, but has so far been successful, if they have a card you want.

So, are these games you use, or you buy and then bring back or you get from another store? How do you know what they will give you for the games? Are these open or never opened games?
So, you spent $260 to buy games and you sold them for $624 back to them?

They are mostly games I just buy and trade back in. Right now this weekend, they bumped up trade in values AND have a promotion for 50% more trade in credit when you purchase the Doom and the Uncharted 4 game. I usually just buy the game, ask for a gift receipt, and return it back on my gift card. For instance, right now the Rise of the Tomb Raider for the 360 is $20 at Best Buy with their gamers club unlocked membership, and you can trade it back into gamestop for $40 with the promos. Same with NBA Live 16 (bought at Fry's for $12.99 and traded it back for $33). Some of the games I traded in yesterday are from my own collection that I just don't play anymore too.

Also... I was at the mall today, went to the Gamestop I normally don't frequent and checked for Ebay cards. They didn't have any, so I asked the employee If I could consolidate my gift cards because "it's leaving an indent in my wallet" ::yes:: The employee combined the rest of my gift cards onto one. She basically bought 1 $500 gift card with my 5 $100 gift cards and it went through just fine. I was asking her a bit more about the gift cards and she said you can put a max of $500 on a gift card AND you can purchase them digitally and physically online. I haven't yet checked if the website GC > GC purchase works, but it's a great option if you want to stay low key/don't want to look weird swiping 5 gift cards at the register.

Okay so this is confusing me, lol. You get more money than you paid for them when trading in? Thanks for the explanation! It looks interesting, but I don't have enough game knowledge to do this right, I'm sure! Looks like it could be good, if you did have that knowledge, as you sound like you do!

Interesting about the GS gc's. So, are you talking about turning say, 5 $100 gc's into 1 $500 card online possibly, either egc's or physical? At first read, I was thinking maybe you were thinking of buying Ebay gc's online, but reading again, not sure that's what you meant. It would be pretty cool to be able to buy the ebay gc's there at GS online with GS gc's to avoid that in person visit. That would be really great then! But, even putting the small gc's into a larger one for use in store would be nice, too.
ETA: I looked at GS, and see you can purchase a GS egc(takes up to 48 for delivery) or physical card(takes 1-2 weeks to get), limit of $500 on one card. But, interesting, my auto ebates thingy popped up showing 2.5% for GS, though I don't know if it works for buying GS gc's with GS gc's, but that would be pretty cool then! Can't try it, converted the last of my cards for the moment.

So, I did go to a different GS than usual tonight, in a far western suburb of Chicago. Went in, with my three young nephews, and with my same attitude, just picking up the ebay gc from the the rack and taking it to the register, with friendly chit chat as the guy asked if I needed help. Just handed him the card and said I wanted to put $500 on it, and it he rang it up and I put my $100 gc's in, one at a time. Asked if I had rewards, but just said no. He mentioned something about gift buying and I said yeah, it's graduation time, and bday's in my brother's family(he has 7 kids, lol), and so I was getting ready and he laughed, saying good idea. So, again, another successful GS converting run, and at a different place than my usual. I was a bit surprised because during my first go round a couple months ago, I called and they weren't sure of using gc's to purchase the ebay cards, or over $300. I had never ended up going there as my local GS goes so great. I think the positive attitude definitely helps!

Received my GS GCs from NGC (National Gift Card) today via USPS. They were ordered during this week's ebucks promo. Good turn around time and free shipping. Off to exchange them for eBay.
I've been trying to find NGC on eBay - anyone know their actual seller name?

I would say yesterday was a productive day. Started out with $300 bb, $400 gs, and $100 sears. Did kmart first since it was closest. I hardly shop there so didn't realize I got the new guy. He hadn't rang up gift cards before. He had to call over sometime from the front desk to help him ring up my 4 cards since they only carry $25 denominations. Then he hasn't had anyone pay with a gift card yet so he had to call him back over. The guy from the desk didn't even look at me when he told him I was trying to pay with a gift card. Ended there with $50 ebay and $50 disney

Went to best buy next and converted $200 of my $300. I didn't do all $300 because the shopkicks bonus is an extra 1000 kicks for $200+ and you can do it twice a week so my plan was to get another $100 in bb and go back today for another shopkicks bonus.

I only did $300 of my $400 gamestop. I have several by me, but I had only tried 1 so far. I did $200 at the one I knew would let me then did $100 at one I hadn't tried to see if they would let me. There's another I planned on doing my last $100 at today as a test run. So far I've been pretty happy with my churning options.

Best Buy has a video game club called Gamers Club Unlocked. It's $30 for 2 years and you get 20% off all video game software (games and figures like Infinity, Skylanders, etc). So basically in PP's explanation, Best Buy was having a sale and Tomb Raider after the 20% was $20. Game Stop will give you $40 with their promos for that $60 game brand new unopened, because they will turn around and sell it for a profit and they assume you're losing money because the MSRP is $60 and they're giving you $40. So you do that for a bunch of games and it adds up quickly. Pretty smart actually, I should do this since I have Gamers Club (which as an aside, if you buy 3 games within those 2 years the membership pays for itself).

I have the video game club. I bought it last year for my son and it definitely has already paid for itself. I haven't done anything with it other than buying new games at 20% off though for my son. But, I just checked this morning because that offer intrigued me. Maybe it was a short sale because it only looks like the price is $40 now so $32 with the discount. Not worth me driving up there for that.

Best Buy's sales are Sunday-Saturday so yes it likely ended yesterday.

Interesting churn @ Kmart this morning. I don't have any near me, but knew I would be traveling close to one this weekend so I got the Sears card deal earlier in the week knowing that if Kmart didn't work we'd use Sears without a problem.
I went in and grabbed a couple things we needed & initially couldn't find eBay cards, although there were GameStop so I grabbed those. At the display near the register they had eBay, though. The cashier saw I was buying GCs & immediately asked for my drivers license! I didn't even have my wallet out yet, so he had no idea what my form of payment was going to be. I asked why he needed my DL (kindly, while handing it to him) and he said to compare the name to the debit card. Interesting. I mentioned that I was using a GC to pay & he said he'd have to check if that was ok. So, after talking with who I assume was a manager they decided to just try it because they don't know why I couldn't do that but weren't sure if the system would allow it. Long story short, it went through without a hitch! I was sweating it a bit, but I'm also a big advocate of being friendly & nonchalant during these things & think that helps the cashiers not get all worked up about it & willing to try it.
