Disney Gift Card Deals

I'm back from Target with good news and bad news..

I stopped at customer service and she combined my Cardpool cards into one physical Target GC. So far so good. None of them were flagged.

I went and got my Southwest GCs and some wine glasses for a gift that I needed. Paid with the Target GC ($193), no problems until I tried to put the balance owed on my Red Card. And it was denied! I ended paying the $10 balance with my personal debit card and moved on.

So, it looks like I am banned from ordering online and from using my Debit Red Card.

My conclusion is that the GCs from Cardpool were okay. Wouldn't they just deny them if they thought they were fraudulent? I think for whatever reason, my new spending pattern tripped something up at Target. I think that is why they want to verify my identity. I'm now leaning toward providing that information to get this straightened out. I would like to use my Red Card in the future even if its not for gift card churning. I am just baffled how they let some spend tens of thousands of dollars with no issues and then some get banned.

Any other insights or points of view?

Beyond puzzling!

I can't remember, is it a debit card? When I started using mine, they denied mine too. Said I'd purchased too much in a week and they wouldn't put it through even though the other money had already been taken from my checking account already. They couldn't tell me what the magical number was that was acceptable just that until I used it more, it could happen again if they deemed it to be too much (again whatever that number was).

It is a debit, but I've had it for 2 or 3 years. This was only a $10 balance, so I know it isn't any limits. It appears that they banned my card. This seems to be different from the other posters who got banned. I thought they could still use their red cards. Just not online. Maybe I'm wrong, though.

Susan, I would provide the info to Target to try and sort this out. What a mess for you. Sorry.

So, what is the situation with the HEB deal? Only one now total? Or per transaction?

Can someone please direct me to the post on how to use this board/ebay/5x rewards thing? Thanks

I was going to guess it was to pay off a Disney Wedding-that must one FABULOUS vacation.

Unfortunately, Disney Weddings will not accept gift card as payment. Believe me, I surely wish they did!

Thank you everyone for your help today. This is truly a wonderful board full of kind, helpful people.

I spoke to DH tonight when he got home from work. He had an interesting perspective. He believes Target might actually think there is fraudulent activity on my card. I didn't use it very much at all prior to my churning which started a couple weeks ago. He thinks they may truly want to verify that someone else doesn't have my card since my spending pattern changed so drastically. We talked about it and will fax them the documentation they want on Monday. Hopefully that will clear things up, but with Target, who knows!

I'll keep you all posted. I sure hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. :-)

And please read the last 20 or so pages for more info because the offers are constantly changing. You don't want to miss out on a current deal because you are relying on information that is not up to date.

That's what I'm doing! Just reading through stuff for now! Thanks for your help! I've been buying target gc at Kroger and then buying Disney gc with those for a few years, but wanted to see what else there was to do. I have ebay, and have purchased a few cg off there in the past, but the ebay bucks is what's throwing me off... where do you find those?

Just got caught up on the thread and saw your ordeal. I concur with your DH; that's exactly what they're thinking and this is actually a lot more common than you think. Let us know how it works out for you. Good luck.

I hope Target Redcard is managed by a third party finance company. I mean it has to be some kind of bank and have their own regulation of security when it comes to opening, maintaining and regulating the Redcards.

I don't think they banned your card, I hope it's just a security hold.

I'm a couple days behind reading this thread, so I'm just finding out what happened to you. I also had my order cancelled on Jan 2nd when I tried to order SW gift cards. I had ordered them before so I was really surprised when it was cancelled. I tried ordering them two more times that same day and all the orders were cancelled. I didn't think too much about it and just ended up ordering them from eBay instead, but then I read the posts about people being banned from Target I started to get a little worried. I decided to lay low for a few weeks and then on Jan 19th I ordered $400 in eBay cards and it went through just fine. Since then, no problems and I've ordered $1,700 worth of eBay gift cards in the last month. I hold my breath each time though!

It does sound like it could be a problem with your red card though. Did you activate it properly before trying to use it? Do you still have your old card? I've read that some people still have their old red card as default and still get the discount. I have a new red card too but have been able to use it just fine in store and online. I hope you are able to get this all sorted out! Good luck!

I tried it earlier today and could only get one card to give me the 20.00 off. I'm still waiting for corp. to return my call. LOL

Good news - hubby just bought 5 $100 Disney gift cards at HEB for $400, so the coupon is still working just fine! :drive:

Thank you for reporting back! My aunt is out-of-town and cannot get to HEB until Monday. I was worried I missed the deal!

I read on Slickdeals that if you added the coupon before they took it down then you could use it on multiple cards, but only one transaction. I did add it yesterday. I just purchased 2 cards in one transaction and it worked on both.

Essentially, eBay Bucks are a form of cash back that eBay gives you for the eligible purchases you make on eBay. If you enroll for eBay Bucks, you'll always get 2% on eligible purchases.
  • Occasionally, eBay has short periods where they offer bonus eBay Bucks - typically it's anywhere from 2X-5X, which would mean 4%-10%. I believe there's rarely even 6X. Not everyone receives these promotions - it's essentially random.
  • Most purchases on eBay qualify for eBay bucks; the most relevant exception is eBay gift cards. However, there are other ineligible items aside from eBay gift card purchases. Before you make a large purchase it may be worth looking at the terms to ensure eligibility.
  • You cannot earn more than $100 in eBay Bucks in a single transaction, and you cannot earn more than $500 in eBay Bucks in a quarter.
  • You will receive eBay Bucks for an entire quarter shortly after the quarter ends. You are paid in the form of an eBay Bucks certificate, which you can use for purchases on eBay (including Target and eBay gift cards). You will only receive an eBay Bucks certificate if you earn more than $5 in a quarter.
Here's information from a previous post I made about eBay Bucks - it should get you started on the enrollment process:

Unfortunately, there is no guaranteed formula to get eBay Bucks Offers. If you want to get them and aren't currently, go to My eBay > Account > Communication Preferences > Promotions and Surveys. I have the first four boxes checked there to be safe, but I think the only one that matters is "General email promotions." If you already have that checked and you're not getting eBay Bucks offers, uncheck it, save that, and check it + save again. I had to do that a handful of times over the course of several weeks until I finally got them.

You also need to make sure you are enrolled for eBay Bucks, which you do here: eBay Bucks Rewards Enrollment.

You won't know if it "worked" until you actually get an eBay Bucks offer email, so it's really a guessing game.
