ahhh two threads = confused me! anyway..interesting learning here.... I got the 10% off a 300.00 gc on Sunday,and got ebates on it(!) then used it last night to get an ipad(plus one small filler) and still no ebates showing(?) the first showed up really fast, should I just wait and see? I don't see apple excluded on the terms at ebates.... will use the balance to get a disney gc soon

Just picked up my four rulers from the local Target store and my Disney gift cards arrived yesterday. Thanks to everyone on this forum for their money saving tips. Happy Holidays!!

Wow, you all are so awesome with all the tips and tricks. I haven't been getting the 5% since Tuesday. Yesterday, I bought some Target eGift Cards to equal out to be $285 (got a $200, $70 and $15) to break up the target gift card that I had combined all the egift cards I purchased from Sunday's deal. After I got them, I went through eBates, then placed my order on target for the $300 (3x$100) Disney Gift Cards and got a $0.25 ruler. I charged $0.26 to my red card and got the full discount ($15.01), paid $285 with target gift cards. Both have shipped and I got $5.70 ebates cash back! Yay! Now to see if they arrive activated...

Yes, or enter the number on disneygiftcard.com
I use that website to combine and manage my cards. If a card gets lost or stolen then you can quickly transfer the balance to one of your other cards using that site.

My cards were activated thankfully. I heard ds 10 on the phone with both his step-mother and father telling them how I got paid $5 to buy a ruler--he likes to overshare

I think most of the problems with unactivated cards and cancelled orders are from the rush right after sales. If you can afford to wait a week or two then it will probably go back to no problems. On normal days I never have unactivated cards.

Yep. I third that. Two of my orders arrive tomorrow. The last two on Monday and I'm done.

I'm curious what part of all this seems "unstable?" Keep in mind that people don't post about their normal, everyday experiences that work just right.

It may just be that I've discovered gift card churning this year, but it seems to be getting more prevalent. Other retailers that used to allow you to buy a gift card with a gift card no longer do (e.g., Walmart and Kroger). Plus it seems like some managers are not allowing buying a target gift card with a target gift card, a Disney gift card with a target gift card, etc. I hope the 5% off online while paying with a gift card doesn't go away and buying a Disney gift card with a target gift card continues to be allowed--but it wouldn't surprise me if the policy changes in the near future. Of course this is pure speculation.

$600.00 in gift cards arrived. All activated. The instability comes in not knowing if or when this loophole will close. As we know, nothing in life is guaranteed except death and taxes. I hope it continues but to be on the safe side, since I have the money, I bought my gift cards now.

I decided to take the risk and order the cards a few days ago during the holiday rush, because my trip is coming up in 19 days and I needed them quickly.

Ok I joined Disboards about two weeks ago. Got 4 GC and 4 $5 GC from Target last week and bought $300 target GC on Sunday. Saved the $30 with 10% off and used mt GC paying $250 out of pocket. Today I signed up for ebates and purchased 3 $100 Disney gcs and a $7 clearance soft sided cooler that can be used as a carry on and paid with my new Redcard but made the switch to my GC. Paid $291.12 with the 5% savings. Here is the question, ebates gave me the $10 sign up bonus and a Target $2.03 ebate on a $101.20 purchase. Where is the world did they get that amount? Why was a random amount from a larger purchase used? Is this normal? Not complaining it is free money, just curious.

Yes, that is still possible.
But, very recently, WM has stopped the ability to buy a WM gift card with a WM gift card at WM.com. I had been doing this when I bought WM gift cards thru Raise.

I would have expected your ebate to be higher. If you made a $291.12 purchase, 2% of that would be $5.82 plus your $10 sign up ...

What seems unstable to me is all the people reporting they cannot use Target gift cards to buy third-party gift cards in store, especially on slickdeals. Then a lot of cancellations of online orders for ebay...the 5% is still coming off but quite a lot of people are reporting cancellations, including me. What is up with that!?! I've been buying gift cards from Target for years, at low times and at busy times. I've rarely had an order canceled. In the last few days, I've had more orders canceled than have gone through. Many on slickdeals are reporting the same. It seems to predominantly be a problem for those buying eBay rather than Disney so that makes one think Target is trying to stop the churning of gift cards. And lastly, Target not allowing the combining of mobile gift cards anymore. Why? That policy just doesn't make sense.

I wasn't quite ready to sink my money into Disney gift cards because the 'fun' stops there. I wanted to churn a bit. Thankfully, the 5% off and purchasing Disney gift cards with Target ones both still seem to be working so I am glad for that. But I will admit, with the changes and recent reports, I am nervous what else is coming.

I've been gone from Disney planning for a couple of years but am beginning to plan a trip for next Christmas. Can someone explain to me the Target gift card game again?? I've read through a few pages, but now I'm even more confused than before with the addition of ebates and eBay.. Help!
