Disney Gift Card Deals

Just bought $1500 worth of Disney gift cards at HEB for $1350. They let me do it all in one transaction since I was using cash. I called to make sure all 30 were activated! I was going to do the Target deal and decided this was easier!

The way around this? Buy one gift card per day. That way they all come in separate packages. They can't forget to activate ONE. Learned my lesson the hard way....except it was thru Sam's, not target.

Believe me, Target.com can even screw up a one gift card order.

There's no way around it. It's the luck of the draw with Target.com!

Yep! They didn't activate my one gift card!! I spent a week trying to get them to fix it!!

Purchased the gift cards yesterday via Target.com for the 10% off, and used my Discovercard for 5% back. Could have saved more going thru sites etc, but I was exhausted and in a rush.

Went into Target today and purchased my Disney Gift Cards no problem! Couldn't order them online as we leave Monday! Nearly 15% isn't bad at all.

I ordered a bunch yesterday using the gift cards I purchased on Thursday and got the 5% Red Card discount applied automatically. Today the system is not applying the 5% discount.

I just checked using my account and it is still applying the discount. It doesn't show until I get to the page where I have to enter my RedCard PIN number (I have the debit card).

According to the tracking info my orders have been sitting in MN since Monday morning. What the heck. Why would it not leave the facility for a couple of days?

It's UPS mail innovations. One of the worst shipping methods ever. I just got two of my orders which sat in West Palm Beach (1/2 hour from my house!) from early in the morning last Friday until this morning. They came with my other mail today. But, they sat in MN for 2 & 3 days before they progressed through the system.

Target showed one of my gift cards as shipped 11/29 and I got a UPS tracking number. I then got an email that my other 5 giftcards had shipped but it had the same tracking number. Looked at it yesterday and tracking said shipment VOIDED. I got to work today and 4 of my 6 cards came in separate envelopes via USPS postmarked 12/2 (my $25 GCs). Keeping an eye out for my last 2 cards as those were $100 each!

Yesterday when I was at my local Kmart, they would not let me redeem my Sears GCs for other GCs. Said it was company policy. Even had the receipts with me just in case. So,sad for me, b/c I listened to the advice on this thread, I now have $300 in Sears GCs.

•our Sears closed and I'm not a Kmart shopper - prices are too high. And Office Depot doe not return or refund GCs.

If it seems like too good of a deal, it probably is.

If it seems like too good of a deal, it probably is.

Did you ask before you tried to buy, or did you let them ring up the Disney gift cards first?

I feel your pain! I had the same problem as you at both K-Mart and Sears. Both times we did not ask whether it was okay, but just confidently brought the Disney gift cards to the register. At K-Mart, there wasn't even an option to use a gift card as a form of payment at the terminal. At Sears, the casher took one look at our Sears gift cards and refused to even ring them up, admitting that the register would allow it but store policy would not. I had a backup plan just in case I wasn't able to buy the Disney gift cards and we now have a new Sears garage door opener, which we needed, but weren't planning to spend the money on at that particular time.

That stinks! Bet you can sell your cards on Cardpool for more than you paid. Bummer that you can't get the Disney cards, but at least you can get your money back.

Buy some other stuff at the same time, putting you over the amount on the gift card. Tell the cashier you need to pay "some" with the gift card. As noted, the register will accept it.

FYI - Target gift cards are roughly 6.5% off at Gift Card Zen (electronic form). This is one of the better discounts I've seen.
