Disney Gift Card Deals

Any speculation as to why eBucks promos seem to have slowed down so much?

I've been thinking on this too. I'd love to hear what others think but it just seems coincidental how the ebucks offers have slowed right as we got the carpet yanked out from under us almost everywhere else.

For those with Kmart/Sears success, SVM has Sears GC's on sale again. $100 for $85. 3% Ebates makes it pretty attractive right now.
I think I'm going to give Kmart a try. Our Sears has gone out of business. Can I use the Sears card at Kmart or do I need to convert it first?

I hope y'all don't mind a question. I've never bought Disney gift cards. If you buy the actual hard cards from the Disney Store, can you use them to pay for your trip? It says they can be used at locations at WDW and DL as well as cruises.

I can get these cards at a very small discount (about $2 off each $100 bought.

Thank you Disney card gurus!!

I'm wondering if it has to do with the lifting of the six month $5K limit on using eBay gift cards. This essentially doubled the amount a person could earn in a six month period. We had 10 offers in the first quarter of 2016 but only five so far in the 2nd quarter, and two of those were flash offers that only lasted a few hours. Maybe eBay took a look at what people were accumulating and what they would be paying out in ebucks and decided to scale back.

Yeah, I think you might be right. I was thinking also that the number of ebucks they are paying out must be really high. Not only the lifting of the $5k limit but also, there are just a ton of more people who jumped on the churning bandwagon.

You need to be careful. Some gift cards can only be used at the Disney Store while others can be also be used in the parks. You need to look at the card.

I have 3 Kmarts near me. 1 only allows gc purchase with cash only. The 2nd will allow gc for gc but they are closing. And the 3rd is untested. So I just bought one of the Sears GCs to test the 3rd. Fingers crossed.

Do these typically sell out? I want to get my son a bookcase from Wayfair. But apparently I can get it from Wayfair via Sears. I would need to stop at Kroger after work and buy eBay gift cards though.

The Gamestop $60 for $50 sold out pretty fast this week and last, so I would say there is a good chance.

EDIT: I've also noticed on another more popular forum I frequent that more people have been asking questions about GC churning. It's been the hot topic as of late over there. The GC churning movement is growing.

In the past, no. But as churning options have dried up, I think more people are trying these other methods so I would think there is a chance it could sell out.

Good to know that Sears sells from Wayfair!

Staples does too so I have options and am not in a hurry.

Have people had success at Sears? I thought Sears did not allow gift card purchases with a gift card.

I read awhile back on this thread that people were having success with Kmarts in Pennsylvania, so I'm giving it a try. I have 2 fairly close, so I'm hopeful that one of them will take GC for GC. I'll report back after I try next week.

I am officially fed up with PPDG:badpc:. At first, I was OK with the whole "security check" thing, but now...:crazy2:. I cannot get an order for a $50 BB gift card to go through. I am NOT trying to pay with a gift card. I am trying to use my PayPal account. I e-mailed customer service, as directed during the checkout process, and PayPal said I need to "contact the seller to see if they will accept a different form of payment". Are they THAT ignorant? I specifically stated that I am trying to buy an item SOLD by PayPal....so I *am* contacting the seller....and they are telling me to contact the seller:confused3. I was trying to avoid having to call, but I guess I have no choice. Urgh! I think my churning days are done. At least I have $200 in eBucks that I can spend on whatever I want in July. Maybe I will buy some camping gear:beach:.

The Kmart churn is highly YMMV but I was able to convert by only going to 2 stores. Either way, SaveYa is offering a cash payout of $87 for a $100 Sears card right now so worse case you pocket $6.

As far as the recent lack of eBucks offers, I think we were just spoiled so far this quarter. Although I haven't been keeping a list like some others, I remember during the first quarter once the eBucks offers started they were typically every other week until the second week of March where they were every week until the end of the quarter. This quarter, once we got the first one in the 3rd week of April we got one every week since until the recent drought of 2 weeks and 2 days.
