Yup-looks like it sold out or was for a limited timeimage.png

You can also see if a target near you exchanges gift cards for target gift cards-not sure what their reimbursement rate is but sears is on their list.

I am also curious about their exchange rate. All it says is to bring in your gift card that still has a balance on it and exchange it for a Target gift card. There is no mention of what the value of the Target gift card will be. The way it is worded, it sounds like a 1:1 "exchange"...but that would seem unrealistic.

There are articles about it. The example they give is Walmart. $100 Walmart gift card = $85 Target gift card.

I sold some gcs a few weeks ago. I can't remember Target given me a print out of transactions. I think they gave me about 65%. I had Dicks Sporting Goods, Brookstone, Crate & Barrel.

I wonder what their game plan is? What are they planning to do with all of these gift cards that they buy?:confused3 Some of them aren't even brands that they sell in the store.

I had read that they are partnering with Cardpool. I imagine we could get much more by selling the gift card direct to Cardpool or others like Raise.

Yep. The articles pointed out that Target will give you $85 for a $100 Walmart gift card while cardpool will give you $93 (this was in December). So a cut is going to the middle man (Target).

Just curious...did Cardency sell Gamestop GCs before today's sale? Don't remember them being an option for GS prior to today.

They have. I bought a $50 from them during the flash sale. I'm still waiting for it to arrive, but I'm still within their shipping window for it. Even though I'm still waiting for those i placed an order for 3 of the bonus cards since they said they would arrive between the 4th and 9th

Thank you!

I'm still trying to understand the churning since all the gift cards seemed to be full price. Are you trying to build up eBay bucks? Or ebates rewards? Both?
Once again, this is up to the individual. I use whatever I am able to to increase the value of my funds, but I don't use everything available.
It depends on whether you have any reasons to use ebates, swagbucks, mypoints, etc for anything else, or if you get a good vibe.

I have bought and sold on ebay for years, so using it to get gift cards is a no brainer for me, and the ebucks are a great incentive. But others prefer to just get gift cards from kroger or other groceries, because they can then use points for cheaper gas.

People need to look at all the options available, and then see what will work best for them.

I have been using Gamestop quite a bit over the last couple weeks. There is only one gamestop in town, so I have been trying to be conservative on my visits. I have done about $2000 in the last 2 months, usually between $300-$500 at a time. I went in last week to buy $500 in ebay cards. The employee recognized me and said he had to call his district manager because of the amount of the purchase. He couldn't get a hold of the district manager, so he called his store manager. The store manager knows me, so he said it was ok. This whole interaction made me a little concerned, but I got my ebay cards and all was good.

This weekend, I was heading to Lexington (I live in central KY) for some other things and I figured I would churn some more gamestop into ebay while I was up there. I went to a store that I had used in the past and was told, "a new federal law does not allow them to accept gift cards as payment for ebay and gas cards". I thought this was strange, so I hit another gamestop in the town and was told they couldn't accept gamestop gift cards for ebay gift cards. I have not tried the one in my town yet, but I will probably do it today. I think the district manager is cracking down on this and that it isn't a "new federal law", because I haven't heard (or read) anything about new law preventing this. So, it may not affect anyone else, but I want to put it out there.

Since the only BB within an hour of my home hasn't allowed using BB gc to buy Ebay, I figured I'd try online again. Last time I ordered online, I only ordered the Ebay gc and the order was cancelled. This time I decided to try ordering something else at the same time and paying for that with my BB card. I thought I read here that someone had success doing this. Just placed the order last night. I got a $50 Ebay gc since I only had a $50 BB gc and also bought some ink for my printer, which I needed anyway. No cancellation email yet. Hoping the order doesn't get cancelled at all. I know this wouldn't be ideal to try to churn large amounts, but it would give me an option to churn through when I need other things at BB.

This is just MHO, but I think we are probably on borrowed time with GameStop. I don't think it will be long before they will put a company wide policy in place to not accept GS GCs as a form of payment for other GCs. I think as this path of churning catches on, they will be overwhelmed. They are a smaller store and this is all hands on. Target could be somewhat accomplished by flying under the radar. Not so much with GS. I'll continue, but will be treading lightly as not to get stuck with a bunch of cards I can't use.

I had a successful churn at GS this weekend. It was my first time and I had $400 to use. The guy had to go back and talk to another girl about it and I started to get nervous. But he came back and did it no questions asked. Whew!!

Even though my trip is not until November, I am starting to convert my Target GCs into Disney GCs. I have decided it's too risky for me to convert those Target GCs back to eBay. I was patient and optimistic when the Target 5% discount disappeared, and that was rewarded. But, I'm less optimistic about GCM restocking the Target GCs. I still have about half of my funds in eBay should the Target GCs come back, so I'm not totally cashing out of the game. And who knows? Maybe that is the intention- to cool the heels of those of us who are taking advantage of this.

I do think the next time there's a GS deal or eBay Bucks promo I'll give that a try because with four boys those GCs *will* get used, even if I can't convert them to eBay. I also have about 5 GSs in close proximity, so I have multiple opportunities to test the waters.

But, for now I've reached my threshold of comfort and am starting to minimize my risks.

This is why I haven't even tried GS-I have 3 within 15 min of my house and prob another 4 within 30 min but I am not a gamer and probably have only been there once in my life to buy a present. If I got stuck with hundreds of dollars of gift cards there I'd really have no use for them. At least with EBay/Best Buy/target I know I'd eventually be able to use them for normal purchases.
All this churning can't go unnoticed. I mean there are people on this thread that seem to purchase at least a $1000 in eBay GC in a month. If just 25 people do that that would be a sudden $25,000 increase in eBay gift card sales in one month. I'm sure that uptick in gift card sales has to sound odd to Game Stop employees (at the upper levels). They may not know why the sudden increase and even if it is not hurting them financially (which I suspect it probably is since they clearly are selling their gift cards at a discount to PayPal digital and the other gift card sellers) they could be concerned about money laundering or fraud. I mean isn't that is why there are laws concerning gift card sale limits per day and not allowing the purchase of visa/MasterCard with store gift cards?

Still doesn't make sense they wouldn't sell them. Why wouldn't they want all those sales of target cards thru GCM? Well, hopefully one day soon!

It's not GCM's decision. To buy thousands of Target gift cards, you need a special purchase with Target. They are not just buying them off the website. Target is not selling them to GCM right now because they were losing money on the transactions and the gift cards just went to churners not people spending them on products. Target is controlling the shortage not GCM.

Agreed, GS is a small company. This won't last, especially not with people running $500 thru daily. They cannot afford to soak up losses like Target, nor is their company so spread out that one dept wont notice what's happening in another. Personally I just don't see the draw in churning GS. Tried it, it worked out ok, but w the hour it takes to do a flip, it's just not earning it's value in time spent. And if you have to drive at all, the gas money will eat up any Ebates.

Well, gift card mall is still selling Target gift cards. Just not through eBay. I buy them regularly at Kroger.
