I am also curious about their exchange rate. All it says is to bring in your gift card that still has a balance on it and exchange it for a Target gift card. There is no mention of what the value of the Target gift card will be. The way it is worded, it sounds like a 1:1 "exchange"...but that would seem unrealistic. You can also see if a target near you exchanges gift cards for target gift cards-not sure what their reimbursement rate is but sears is on their list.

There are articles about it. The example they give is Walmart. $100 Walmart gift card = $85 Target gift card.I am also curious about their exchange rate. I sold some gcs a few weeks ago. I can't remember Target given me a print out of transactions. I think they gave me about 65%. I had Dicks Sporting Goods, Brookstone, Crate & Barrel.I am also curious about their exchange rate. I wonder what their game plan is? What are they planning to do with all of these gift cards that they buy?I sold some gcs a few weeks ago. I can't remember Target given me a print out of transactions. I think they gave me about 65%. I had Dicks Sporting Goods, Brookstone, Crate & Barrel.

Yep. The articles pointed out that Target will give you $85 for a $100 Walmart gift card while cardpool will give you $93 (this was in December). So a cut is going to the middle man (Target).I had read that they are partnering with Cardpool. I imagine we could get much more by selling the gift card direct to Cardpool or others like Raise.
They have. I bought a $50 from them during the flash sale. I'm still waiting for it to arrive, but I'm still within their shipping window for it. Even though I'm still waiting for those i placed an order for 3 of the bonus cards since they said they would arrive between the 4th and 9thJust curious...did Cardency sell Gamestop GCs before today's sale? Don't remember them being an option for GS prior to today.
Once again, this is up to the individual. I use whatever I am able to to increase the value of my funds, but I don't use everything available.Thank you!
I'm still trying to understand the churning since all the gift cards seemed to be full price. Are you trying to build up eBay bucks? Or ebates rewards? Both?
I have been using Gamestop quite a bit over the last couple weeks. There is only one gamestop in town, so I have been trying to be conservative on my visits. I have done about $2000 in the last 2 months, usually between $300-$500 at a time. I went in last week to buy $500 in ebay cards. The employee recognized me and said he had to call his district manager because of the amount of the purchase. He couldn't get a hold of the district manager, so he called his store manager. The store manager knows me, so he said it was ok. This whole interaction made me a little concerned, but I got my ebay cards and all was good.
This weekend, I was heading to Lexington (I live in central KY) for some other things and I figured I would churn some more gamestop into ebay while I was up there. I went to a store that I had used in the past and was told, "a new federal law does not allow them to accept gift cards as payment for ebay and gas cards". I thought this was strange, so I hit another gamestop in the town and was told they couldn't accept gamestop gift cards for ebay gift cards. I have not tried the one in my town yet, but I will probably do it today. I think the district manager is cracking down on this and that it isn't a "new federal law", because I haven't heard (or read) anything about new law preventing this. So, it may not affect anyone else, but I want to put it out there.
This is why I haven't even tried GS-I have 3 within 15 min of my house and prob another 4 within 30 min but I am not a gamer and probably have only been there once in my life to buy a present. If I got stuck with hundreds of dollars of gift cards there I'd really have no use for them. At least with EBay/Best Buy/target I know I'd eventually be able to use them for normal purchases. This is just MHO, but I think we are probably on borrowed time with GameStop. I don't think it will be long before they will put a company wide policy in place to not accept GS GCs as a form of payment for other GCs. I think as this path of churning catches on, they will be overwhelmed. They are a smaller store and this is all hands on. Target could be somewhat accomplished by flying under the radar. Not so much with GS. I'll continue, but will be treading lightly as not to get stuck with a bunch of cards I can't use.
Still doesn't make sense they wouldn't sell them. Why wouldn't they want all those sales of target cards thru GCM? Well, hopefully one day soon!

Well, gift card mall is still selling Target gift cards. Just not through eBay. I buy them regularly at Kroger. It's not GCM's decision. To buy thousands of Target gift cards, you need a special purchase with Target. They are not just buying them off the website. Target is not selling them to GCM right now because they were losing money on the transactions and the gift cards just went to churners not people spending them on products. Target is controlling the shortage not GCM.
