Disney Gift Card Deals

For clarification purposes...can you pay for the Disney gift cards at Target with your Disney Visa card? Does Target count as a grocery store for double Visa rewards or is it just single rewards? Thank you.

I'm confused. What are you scared about?

A PP wrote that she/he received cards from Sam's online as well and they did not activate all of the cards. It seems it was a real pain in the tush to get it all fixed. :badpc:

In reference to the poster who was talking about getting inactive gift cards from Sam's online....I ordered two different shipments of Disney gift cards from Sam's online about 3 weeks ago. 3 sets of $150 (3 $50) cards in each shipment. One 3 pack in EACH shipment was not activated. That was $150 in each shipment....$300 total. I was furious. It's taken 2 weeks to finally get them activated. I feel your pain!!!

In reference to the poster who asked about the limits of using gift cards at Sam's to buy the Disney gift cards....you can only use 4 Walmart gift cards in one purchase....thus the reasoning for me having two different shipments of cards I was talking about above.

You really are gambling with your $ when you order Disney gift cards online. When it works, it's a great thing. But when it doesn't work, it makes you wish you had never even heard of ordering them online. It truly is a gut wrenching, time consuming experience!!!:worried:

She's scared that the Disney gift cards she ordered online will not be activated when she receives them. It happens sometimes. When it happens to you, it is a huge deal.

Plenty of Disney gift cards at the Target I went to this morning in Phoenix.

The cashier didn't know the red card discount applied to them, so I schooled her.

I went today and bought plenty from our Target. I did have a manager come over and tell us they were not discounted. The cashier told her that we had already rung them up and the discount came off automatically. She would not let me leave the store until she made some calls to confirm it was not a glitch. She also suggested that since I was buying so many that I should buy them online from now on. :confused3

I would have been PO'ed if that was me. Making you stay after it was rung up that way and you paid. I would have walked out! Seriously, I worked at target through my teen and college years, and that is total BS after what I witnessed managers do for "the guest is always right." I would go the next day buy a TON in front of them, pay, and walk out!!!!

As much interaction as I've had with Target, why does this not surprise me????

?!?!?!?! Whatever target lady. So irritating.

Disney gift cards are back online at Target.com

Just ordered a few more! :thumbsup2

I just wanted to tell ya'll that my cards from Sam's came yesterday. My son and I immediately checked every pack and they had all been activated. :woohoo: I feel so much better now! I won't be ordering them online anymore after this scare.

Help me understand why to order the target giftcards on line. Is it b/c of the 5% bonus you get using your Target Visa or are you getting another discount as well somehow?

That's a wise decision.

If you are paying with a Target giftcard online and have your Target Red Card set as your default on your online Target account it will give you the 5% off Redcard discount even though you are paying with giftcards (or even another form of payment, perhaps a rewards credit card).

Personally, I can/have been earning Target giftcards through swagbucks.com then buying a discounted WDW giftcard through the online site for the additional 5% off. I have also bought Target giftcards at Safeway during their 4x gas rewards promo to use this way.

If you buy them instore the 5% discount is only off the amount that is actually paid for with the RedCard.

Great explanation THANKS! So if I do the default setting and use a giftcard at the checkout screen will it show 5% off there or how do you know you received the 5%?

As soon as I put an item in my cart and go to checkout it shows the discount.

My cart appears like this: summary
subtotal:$50.00
1 item(s)
discounts:-$2.50
REDcard 5% Discount
estimated shipping:

tax: not yet calculated
your total: $47.50

you saved $2.50 (5%)

There's a 10 digit number that prints at the top of the actual gift card, the part of the card with the account number on it not the top part with the bar code. Does anyone know if this is an activation number? I notice that it prints on the target receipt when I buy one in the store. Anyone know if this number prints on the receipt when you buy them on the target website?
