Disney Gift Card Deals

Be very careful with buying gift cards from Sam's online. I decided I wanted to save the money and get a discount so I bought them from them. I've bought $1500 worth and up until this very last batch everything was fine. Unfortunately in the last set i bought one of the packs of 3 gift cards was not activated. Unfortunately, when they ship the gift cards they do not put the gift card numbers on the receipt so it's not simple to take them to the store and have them activated. I placed 4 phone calls and never got anywhere. One phone call I sat on the phone for 45 mins with someone (going on and off hold while she "checked" things) and she put me on another hold and next thing I know she transferred me to a physical Sams store. Finally I posted on their social media page after a week of waiting and not hearing anything. Thankfully they took that serious and refunded my money, but it was such a fight. Apparently the gift cards are shipped by someone else and not Sams directly so they always told me that they needed to talk to their vendor (after they insisted that I needed to call Disney directly which I tried, but nothing happened of course because Disney didn't sell me the gift cards Sams did).

I know the odds of getting an unactivated gift card from online is low (I got one out of 10 packs), but if you are unlucky and get one that's unactivated I feel for you. It's not fun having a fear that you're going to be out $150. It more than ruins any savings that you get.

I'm sure most of you guys already do this, but you can also use your ebates account to get 1.5% cash back from Sam's Club with an online purchase. I know every penny helps ::yes::

I've had some that I purchased at Target (in store) that did not get activated. Had to go back to the store. The store was once about it but was not sure what to do. Eventually I got a new GC issued.

Just got a response to my inquiry about Disney GC online:

"We're sorry to hear you weren't able to access the Disney gift cards.

At this time we aren't offering the Disney gift cards online.* However we do offer the Club Penguine GiftCards online which are for Disney.

We'll share your interest with our merchandising team."

Maybe we need more people to write in to get them back online.

I had the same thing happen to me buying Disney gift cards from Target.com. It is a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone!!!!!

Unfortunately, gift cards are excluded from the 1.5% back.

You can access Raise.com through Ebates & buy discounted GC's & get 1% back and if you use a rewards card like Disney VISA, you can save another 1%. Also, Raise sends me 5% discounts on the weekends.

I sent an email about this too and they sent me an email telling me they were available and included think link. The lik was for the Club Penguine. I replied and told them. This is the response that I just received. " We've checked and the link you were sent does take you to the only Disney GiftCards we currently have available. We're sorry for the disappoint of not having others available to purchase." I replied back asking if they were just out or if they are no longer going to sell them.

Between emails and calling the store, I really don't think they know. But, if enough of us inquire about maybe they will bring them back. Fingers crossed!

Not at Sam's, but at BJ's recently, they had the Disney cards for $95.99 for a $100 gift card. With 1% back on my Disney Visa, that comes out to within pennies of the Target deal.

Next time, look for the $50 gift cards. The $100 cards are $95.99 (savings of 4.01%), the $50 gift cards are $46.99 (total of $94.98 for $100 or a savings of 5.02%). I think the $25 might even save you another $.01 but the sheer hassle of dealing with them isn't worth it to me!

You can also purchase WalMart gift cards accessing Cardpool via Topcashback.com. Cardpool offers WalMart cards at roughly a 3% discount (I've seen as much as 5%), and Topcashback gives you a 2% rebate (up to $1,000 in purchases). Then use your Walmart cards to purchase the $50 3 pack at Sams.

I did not realize you could purchase the 3 pack online at Sams.com. Does anyone know if there is a limit to the number of gift cards one can use when purchasing online. Will they take the Walmart cards online, or do I have to use Walmart gift cards in-store only?

Jodie

I just ordered DG cards from Sam's online. Now ya'll have me scared! :scared1: I normally buy them in the store here but, I wanted to use my Visa and they don't take Visa in the store. They only take it online. I guess all I can do is immediately check them when they get here. Wish me luck!

It will probably be fine.
But, you could buy a Walmart giftcard with your Visa card, and then use that to buy your Disney gift cards at your local Sams store in the future.

The BJ's up here in NJ have the $50 cards for $47.99 so it puts it within .01 of the $100 card at $95.99. Perhaps the locations are different
?

I hope so. What an excellent idea! That thought never crossed my mind. :sad2: Thank you! :goodvibes

Target gives 5% discount on merchant gift cards, not on Target gift cards.

Yep, since the Disney Cards are labeled as "Entertainment Cards". But my question had to do with your statement ... "Target & Sams club allows for the purchase to be made with gift cards." Were you saying that you can buy a $50 Disney Gift Card with a $47.50 Target Gift Card? I know you can buy one for $47.50 using a Target Red Debit Card or Target Red Credit Card.

Online you can. As long as your Target Red Card is the default payment for your account, it will take the 5% off and then you can apply your GCs. Unfortunately, the Disney GCs disappeared from Target.com a few days ago.

I just purchased $2000 worth of gc with my red card and received my 5% discount no problem
Plenty of gift cards available in all aisles at checkout ( I had to check for reporting purposes lol)
Cashier didn't seem to think they were going to stop selling them :confused3

I can confirm that in the great mitten state they are also still readily available at all of the targets I have checked- and I called all of the stores in a 60 mile radius of my house, LOL

I'm confused. What are you scared about?

I finally got to my local target and realized that I picked a horrible time to go since umass is right around the corner and school is starting up. So I checked as best I could and I only found them at one register.
