Disney Gift Card Deals

I think you also have to look at how things have changed since then as well, since the changes have made it a lot easier / more profitable. If I remember correctly, GCM started selling Target GC's around May of last year. This opened the process up to target-ebay/rinse & repeat formula. Prior to that most people did raise/target/Disney and was done. You had to be a pretty hard core churner / manufacturing spender to do much more than this. However, it was still relatively regulated because of the PP / Ebay GC limit of 5k for 6 month. That has since been lifted which makes this process even easier / more popular.
And in addition to what others have already said, I'll also add that the thread on the DCL forum was deleted. That sent a lot of people over here to seek information. Some have posted, some have lurked and some gave up trying to figure this out and went back to planning their cruises.

I think this data is still a bit skewed though. Just because the average posts increased 10x, doesn't mean the number of people using the process has increased 10x. You have to take into account people like me, who may have posted once or twice between 2012 and 2015 but post a lot more now. I was doing the raise>target>disney churn, but not posting about it. I post more now because I have become more comfortable posting on the forums here. You also have to take into consideration the many multiple pages that flew by when Target stopped the 5%. Those weren't all pages adding in new people, and just because they are new to this thread, doesn't mean they are new to churning. It simply means we are talking to each other about it more while adding in a few new "players" here and there. I'm not saying the numbers of churners hasn't increased. I would say it has for sure. I'm just saying that you can't accurately use this data to say by how much the numbers have increased. You'd have to do a lot more filtering of the data to get anything near an accurate graph.

I'd say the # of ppl doing the churn is far greater than 10x because you have more people reading about it not just here, but as it grows here, it's also growing on other sites... and that # of sites is growing so that's even more people doing it. And the lurkers... I'm sure page views stats would be even more indicative. This data is understating the actual practice. I'd bet any amount there are more than 10x people churning now than there were a year ago. I'd say it's closer to 100x or more even. Look at all the places you can chat about this now that did not exist a year ago. The whole budget thread was regarded as more of a "couponing thing" that did not interest the bulk of visitors out here.

For those who have GCM deliver to a UPS store, where in the order process is that determined?
I ask because I was going to use that this morning and couldn't quickly find the option. I was in a real hurry to get out the door to take my dad to an out of town doctor's appt. I knew if I waited til this afternoon I'd run the risk of GCM running out of 150s, so I ordered right away and did my usual home delivery. I would have liked to have them delivered to a UPS store to avoid the headaches that some have had here, but couldn't find the option.
I want to be prepared for next cycle. thanks

You have to be signed up for UPS choice on the website, but it usually has the option when it's listed as "shipped." I did it this last promo maybe about a day before I got it, and it worked no problem.

I didn't get this offer (2nd one in a row I didn't get, but oh well). Hubby got it on his ebay account though. Trying to decide if I want to try using his. Haven't done that yet, as I've been doing all our churning through my account only. If I do use his ebay account I assume I'll need to use his paypal account also and I'm not sure if I want to get stuck tying gift cards to his account. Might get confusing for me. Decisions, decisions....LOL.
That's not just from today though. I'm pretty sure that is what has sold since they started this particular listing. I want to say that number was somewhere between 80,000 and 82,000 last week when they sold out. But, I totally agree, it is a very odd number.
Well to put it in context GCM sold 614 cards from 6:55am to 8:27am. And you have to consider they ran out of $150's and $100's pretty quick. So those numbers in an hour and half would have been much higher than that.

Oh, I agree that the churning process has increased tremendously over the last year. I believe that the Disney community as a whole is a small segment of those churners. There are tons of people out there who are churning for other purposes, including those who eventually sell their Target GCs on places like Raise in order to put cash in their pockets.

It is determined when UPS attempts to deliver and we're not home. ;) At that point it goes to the store for next-day pickup. We can, as soon as we get the UPS shipment notice in our email, redirect the shipment anywhere we want... but there is a charge for this. You get a few free by default when you sign up w UPS, or you get their paid account which gives you unlimited. If you want to redirect shipments regularly, it'll cost.

Yeah, I would include myself in this. I look at shopping different now. It's rare that I buy anything online w/o thinking if I can pay for it out of churned dollars.

Didn't get the email from eBay until 12:30pm. Got home from work and I can't even buy 1 stinking card. All sold out. I guess it doesn't even matter if you get the promo or not because you can't get cards anyway. Same thing happened last week. Good grief!!

I don't wait for the email. If I have the offer, I see it in the banner on the main eBay page long before I get an email. But you can take heart that this bonus ebucks offer is going to last 2 days. GCM could restock their Target GCs before the offer expires.

I was able to do a quick churn through GS. It was my first time to try GS. Made me nervous because I really don't want to get stuck with GS (although it would fund Christmas and then some for my boys). I called first and the guy said I could use a GS GC for anything in the store including Ebay GCs. Bought $400 from PPDG (confirmed my account about 4 times) and went over at lunch and put it on a 25-500 Ebay card. Not a bad lunch hour $24 ebux and $4 ebates. Best part - No waiting for the mailman!

eBates has posted all 250+ merchants that will have "up to 15%" cash back this week. eBay will only have 1% on GCs. Target is not included.

To forward your package to a UPS Access point it's free. If you forward it to a different address, it's a paid service.

Went ahead and pulled the trigger on the 3% but (AGAIN) totally forgot to do Ebates.....this is the 3rd time in a row ARGH....anyone have a good trick to remember to apply ebates?

.
Ebates has a button you can load onto your browser. Every time you shop, it will ask you to activate ebates for that shopping trip. I can't find the link right now, but it should be available on their site.

Well I couldn't resist looking at the numbers :surfweb:. Of those 614 cards sold in a little over an hour. GCM made $62,750 . WHAT A DEAL. I would imagine they want to restock more than we want them to restock :teacher:

Well coming back after a 2 week vacation at the beach. lots happened while I didn't get on the boards

OK, weird Target story...and a heads up...

On Monday, after the paranoia struck, I bought (2) $200 eBay gift cards and a $3.99 pack of printer paper. I had the printer paper set up for in-store pickup and the gift cards were e-mailed to me within about 10 minutes. My total came to $404.02 so I used (2) $150 Target cards and (1) $100 Target card and put the balance of $4.02 on my RedCard. I knew going in that I wasn't going to get the 5% RedCard discount on the gift cards so I am not upset about that at all...well, I guess if I would have waited:sad2:...but I digress...

Tonight, I got home from work and see that I received an e-mail from Target. It says "We've reviewed your recent order, and discovered you're entitled to a refund. You should see the refund of within 10-14 business days."... Maybe they realized I didn't get my 5% RedCard discount and decided to apply it...even though I paid with a gift card:scratchin. So I went into my orders and took a look at the receipt...YIKES!! The receipt shows that they used (1) $150 gift card and (1) $100 gift card, but the did not charge anything to the other $150 gift card (even though it is listed as one of the payment methods used!) and that $154.04 was charged to m RedCard:scared1:. So I am guessing that they caught that glitch and they will be applying the $150 gift card and crediting back my Red Card. I'm glad they caught it quickly because I would have lost my mind if my Target bill showed up with an extra $150 charged to it. So keep an eye on your statements...I have NO idea how this happened, but I'm glad they caught it.

I had posted a while ago that they charged my red card with the entire purchase instead of using my gift cards. first time I did instore pick up. since then I only do ship to me. it was a $600 order but didn't want to contact them and draw attention so just let it go luckly I had some savings.

so since gcm is out of stock of target what is everyone ordering to take advantage of the ebucks? missed out on using last weeks since ups delivered my package a week late today. after many phone calls to find out where my package was and why it wasn't being delivered to a different address. finally got ups to deliver it today.

for anyone tracking the difference in ups vs usps its a week difference for me. (going by the original date ups attempted delivery at the wrong address).

Well, I tried to order Delta gift cards and have Paypal errors now. I didn't notice that it was a PPDG order or I wouldn't have tried. I'm debating a call to paypal to get it resolved.

with UPS i've had 4 days arrived since ordered and a 7 day.... much better than usps
