Disney Gift Card Deals

For those buying EBay at Best Buy, do you earn BB rewards on those purchases?

Ok.. I'm trying to find a new process. Does this seem to make sense.
I have been reading up on Best Buy. They supposedly let you buy gift cards with gift cards. I think the deal is to buy eBay at BB and get BB rewards and ShopKick rewards and cc pts, ebay to target (to get ebates and ebucks) and then target to Disney (with sadly no % except ebates once they come back in stock). Does that make sense? Is it worth it? I see no place to keep rolling though using Best Buy. Can others chime in? Thank you!

I've only done BB once (buying disney with BB gc) and it worked fine but I think it's one of those hit or miss places depending on your who's working.

you can use bestbuy.com to buy disney gift cards and it lets you use best buy gift cards. the one catch is that you have to go to the store to pick them up and some times you have employees that are to lazy to look for the gift cards and just cancel the order.

this is useful for people that would rather not risk going instore and trying to buy gift cards with gift cards :)

I see that PPDG sells BB gift cards so this may be my new
Method of obtaining some semblance of a discount. Unfortunately, my BB does not sell eBay gift cards so there will be no churning involved, but at least I can earn eBucks (up to 10%) and EBates to get a "discount". Plus, I can cash out my SB and Perk into eBay (instead of Target) and use those to get a "discount" on the BB cards.

Is there a way to check Target's in store inventory of Disney cards online? I have to start cashing out anyway for a trip in a few weeks.
ETA: Never mind. I see where it says in stock in stores on Target.com

Just had to try this myself . . . I just bought a $50 BB card on eBay from PPDG. It arrived 20 minutes later. I then was able to use it to purchase a physical eBay gift card online at Best Buy - store pickup tomorrow. Super easy. Thank you, Lain!

Edited: Spoke too soon! Order was cancelled. Need to go figure out why.

It's very possible they couldn't find the item even though it was marked as in stock. Most times when this happens it's just because it wasn't where it was supposed to be and they aren't going to tear apart a store to look for a gift card that could literally be anywhere so they just cancel the order.

I think I am going to convert *some* of my Target GCs to Disney, but I'm not completely ready to fully cash out. My trip is not until November and so I can somewhat afford to wait. I'm going to cross my fingers that the 5% will come back, too.

My bigger concern is that I didn't get the last eBay Bucks promo. I am really hoping that I will get the next one. If those stop, then I guess I'm out. I don't have the time or patience to do Perk or to learn Swagbucks. :faint:

On a happier note, a little success story (that cancels out yesterday's Kroger story): With the discounted GCs on eBay right now for things that I need or know I will use, I went to Kroger yesterday and bought an eBay GC (6% CC rewards; 4x fuel points). I went through Ebates and used it to purchase discounted GCs (average 20% discount). I haven't done the math, but it's more than 30% discount. Additionally, I bought a JCP GC for some clothes I needed for my boys. An hour later, ebates had a flash sale for 17% cash back at JCP!!! I only wished I had put more on the JCP card!

And, I am definitely going to call Kroger today about adjusting my Fuel Points based on previous posters' feedback.

If we will no longer be able to buy gift cards with gift cards, how will we be able to combine small gift cards (like the $5 FWP ones) into larger ones?

I guess I don't see how Target loses money by allowing you to purchase a gift card with a Target gift card. I would think they are getting their money either way.

*If* I will no longer be able to use my Target gift cards to buy Disney gift cards, then I will no longer have a reason to shop at Target. When they took the 5% discount away, it stung a bit, but I could still get a "discount" by using my FWP and cards earned through SB, Perk, etc. If that option goes away too, then I will just do ALL of my shopping at Meijer and Wal-Mart which are cheaper and right next door.

I don't see any indication that Target is going to disallow GC for GC purchases...at least not yet. The terms for their gift cards haven't changed like wording for the REDcard did. I would think if they were going to change this policy it would be much more complicated because people already have how many millions of dollars of gift cards under the current terms which state:

  • This GiftCard can be redeemed for merchandise or services (other than American Express® and Visa® gift cards and prepaid cards) at Target stores in the U.S. or Target.com, and cannot be redeemed for cash or credit except where required by law. No value until purchased. For balance information, visit www.Target.com/GiftCards or call 1-800-544-2943. To replace the remaining value on a lost, stolen or damaged card with the original purchase receipt, call 1-800-544-2943. See GiftCard terms and conditions by searching for "GiftCard Help" above.

If they were to change this going forward then it would definitely be time to worry, but for now I'm going to keep going forward with the churning. Like others have said, just be ready with a backup plan and you should be ok.

I looked online and my two gift cards from PPDG still haven't been emailed to me. I clicked on the link to check on it and it says I have to wait until May 3 which is when they should be delivered. Anyone else ever have them delivered late? I have always received them within a few hours of ordering in the past.

I have an eBay Bucks question... both my wife and I have eBay accounts registered with the eBay Bucks program, however neither of us have ever received one of these bonus 2x 3x 4x days everybody talks about here.

Any suggestions as to how I get my accounts to start receiving these? So far all of my churning has been at 1x (very slow and painful)

I'm just pointing this out for discussion purposes, but unfortunately, many retailers classify gift cards, such as Disney/eBay, as "prepaid cards". Based on the definition, Disney/eBay gift cards could easily fit the mold. Also, when looking at the Target T&C above, it seems ambiguous and could be argued that the way it is written with "and prepaid cards" means gift cards are in fact excluded, versus reading "Amex and Visa prepaid cards". This is not new wording however, I'm just pointing out that it could be argued either way and potentially enforced by Target if they choose to do so.

Also, each Target brick and mortar location has the ability to limit gift card purchases with gift cards if they choose to do so. My location has chosen to do so and I believe some others have posted the same recently. The problem I have with that is if the Target gift cards are being sold at Target.com under the guise they can later be used to purchase other gift cards, then the individual Target stores should not be excluding them from purchase in stores. However, with what I pointed out above, it arguably seems by the T&C that they may be able to exclude them. Then there's also the wording that they can limit/ban potential "resellers" anytime they want and clearly that policy has been sporadically and loosely enforced as a catch-all to stop anybody they want by calling them a "reseller.

Thats what I was wondering. Either that or truly no inventory. I'm planning to stop by there today and see what they have.

I really can't see Target making a huge stink about people using Target cards for Disney or Ebay cards (any cards besides the credit/prepaid type) really. It's not like they're in the business of stopping gift card churning, ya know?

I DO think they'd want to close that 5% off loophole, which it appears they've done. But if they're getting business (and not losing money) now, who cares?

You can also check exactly how many are in stock using a Target inventory checker with the product's "store item number" (DPCI).

Here are some checkers:

http://brickseek.com/target-inventory-checker

http://www.fyndly.com/target/tools/inventory/check.html

For an item's DPCI, go to Target .com, search for the item, then scroll down the page to the info or highlights section to find the store item number.

Also, does anyone know if the Ebates BFC amount is accurate? Or will it send whatever amount on the check that is in my account? The numbers on my 'next big fat check' are totally different than what's been earned in my account.

I've got $70 pending but only $38 payable because $32 was earned since 4/1. I'll get that in July.

This is amazing.

And side note - the Brickseek loading thingy is mesmerizing!

You're signed up to receive eBay bucks right? Also make sure in your settings that youve chosen to receive promotional emails and communication, found on the left of the page after going to account, then down at the bottom of the page. If you are already signed up, try Unchecking and saving and redoing that a few times. I did this a few times, as suggested by others here. I signed out and back in, just in case, too. DD25 did get the next promo on her new account, after missing one the week before. Good luck!

Unfortunately, some brick and mortar stores already have (including mine as I previously stated); YMMV. Also, they may or may not care about gift card churning, but they definitely are concerned about fraud which, again unfortunately, is sometimes synonymous and/or a by-product of using gift cards to purchase other gift cards. We've seen this surface already while playing this game.

Yes I have signed up for eBay Bucks on both accounts. When you say un-checking and saving, do you mean the check box to sign up for promotional emails, or do you mean un-enroll from eBay bucks and re-join? If I do that wont I lost all my bucks that haven't been paid yet?

I know it isn't simply a matter of missing a notification...whenever anyone else here says they have a promo, I log into both accounts, check messages, even go to do a mock purchase just to see the percentage...no changes.

FWIW, I just bought an Ebay card at Target.com using Target gift cards. (Though no RedCard discount, obviously)
