Disney Gift Card Deals

Has anyone ever thought about making a Google doc or something (perhaps can be combined with the cash back doc) with step by step instructions for all of this? Then each time someone new comes, we can point to the doc? I'm only involved in the Target -> Disney portion, but I'm intrigued by the eBay side of the equation. The thread is just so huge at this point, that I lost track of how folks do that side.
Oh Goodness! No! :scared:The last thing that any of us wants is a public document out there on the internet that spells out the process! Another poster suggested doing a YouTube video for the exact same purpose and it was met with the same resistance here. Putting it out there for everyone to see just opens it up for scrutiny by any of the companies that are used in the process. :magnify:

We all understand that this is a monster thread but people really need to read, Read, READ :surfweb: in order to understand the process. I suggest that you start around page 530 and read forward from there. You'll find most of what you want to know if you begin there. Yes, it's almost 200 pages. Yes, there's a lot of fluff within those pages. But there's also a lot of information. :teacher:

After you've read, don't be afraid to specific questions. People will help to clarify anything that you're not clear about, but no one is going to provide a roadmap on how to do this. There are too many roadblocks and detours for that. :drive:

I just noticed a thread over on the Cruise Line board :sail:that says the big GC discount thread there was deleted sometime before last Friday. I guess that means that we'll see a lot more cruisers over here, looking for info. So, :welcome: to all of you who are preparing to sail on DCL. We're happy to help you, but please, don't abuse the process. We know that you need a ton of Disney GCs to pay for your trip, but don't get greedy and try to do it all in a couple of months. Try to make small moves and fly under the radar :cool2:. This is especially true when dealing with Target .com, where customers have gotten banned for suspicion of being "resellers". Since Target won't define exactly what activity will brand you as a reseller, it's best to go about the process slowly:snail: .

Oh...and start reading on page 530 and move forward from there if you want to get an idea of what we're talking about here.:surfweb:

I am in a Disney money saving group on Facebook that has been very helpful. Am I allowed to post the name? I'm not sure what the rules are.

I have a best buy rewards certificate to use. I've tried using it online to purchase gift cards, but it didn't work. I thought I saw someone mention that it did work in the store to buy gift cards? Can anyone confirm?

I've been able to purchase Disney Gift card before at the store using rewards certificate.

You mean they had a thread like this over there that got deleted?

Yep. I only read it a few times but it appears to have been deleted. It would be nice to know why it was deleted (which rules were broken...) so we do not make that same mistake here.

only works in store for reward certificate

It's being discussed here http://www.disboards.com/threads/raise-target-redcard-megathread-gone.3499818/

However, that thread my also get deleted or locked because discussing deleted threads is kind of a no-no on the disboards.

@Mike&AllisMom, I don't normally do PMs but I'll open mine up for just this purpose. Could you also PM me the info on the FB group? I'd like to stay in touch in others case this thread also gets *poofed*.

I've been browsing a pawn shop by my job for video games to flip at Gamestop and found a couple of the Wii Sports games for the original Wii that they were selling for $2 each. They trade in at Gamestop for $9 each :)

I've also been haggling for cheap games at the pawn shop to flip back at Gamestop. On the 15th, if you're a power up pro member, they're giving you an extra $10 in credit for 2 Xbox One/PS4 games. Hopefuly the promo stacks... I've got 8 games to trade. Hoping values don't tank before then.

If I luck out and values hold, I would cash out $250-270 give or take for $140 out of pocket :)

Thank you for your response. I had several responses to this question and yours was the nicest and most logical/well-reasoned. Some of the other responses made me feel like "YIKES! Sorry I asked!" I don't really like being accused of not wanting to put in effort, etc. (You didn't, I felt that from some others.) Anyway, thank you for explaining very diplomatically.

As I originally indicated, right now I just stalk Raise for Target cards and then convert to Disney using the 5% Red Card thingie.

My specific question about the eBay component is that when I followed this thread in the past, I recall that folks were buying eBay cards from Target and then buying Target cards from eBay through Gift Card Mall, but I think I'm missing something there because there's no discount from Gift Card Mall and in fact, there's a shipping charge. Is it just about getting the eBay bucks when they are double (or more) or am I not looking at the right eBay listing?

Mostly, I was following the thread over on the cruise section (less activity with similar information, a bit more distilled with less noise) but that thread, as noted, is gone, so here I am back over here. :P The water is much deeper and I feel like I need a life jacket!

I totally apologize if my response came off that way or made you feel as if you didn't want to put in the effort. I wasn't specifically saying YOU didn't want to put in the effort; I'm saying that in general if we just have a "here you go, that's it!" post, it's not worth it to those of us who have put in a lot of effort. Also, I think it opens up a big "can of worms" since it varies so much for each individual.

But I am being honest, there are multiple other people who have come here with the same idea and I think it's just to the point where it's like "The answer is NO!" -- So again sorry if my tone came off accusatory or anything, that wasn't my intention. I hope that you figure out the process and that it works for you. :)

For your GCM question - There is no discount from GCM, you will see the banner (or email) for the "Bonus" Ebay bucks - 2x, 3x, 4x, or 5x, and you'll see the bonus bucks reflected in your account when you're checking out and once you've purchased. So the GCM product will look exactly the same!

Seems like you have the general idea down :) The Target > Ebay flip is the most profit you'll get because of the bonus ebay bucks. It's the best way to convert back to target as GCM is a trusted seller around here.

The thread will answer general, specific questions... but if you ask a general "How this works" question, you will be told the same thing. The general idea around this concept is rather simple, but explained in text seems a bit confusing. Where it gets most confusing are all the exceptions and restrictions. Take the time to understand the restrictions first, and everything will fall into place. It's really just about funneling the same money over and over through retailers with gift cards and discounts.
