I thought the PP you quoted was saying not to place multiple 4x$50 gc orders in the same day. Target limits you to 3 x $100 and/or 4x$50 per order but some people try to get around that limit by placing several orders on the same day. For some this has (at least appeared) to be a trigger for their banning. Since target won't divulge their criteria for a "reseller" I think it is same to assume try to get around their limits on how many of an item a customer can order could easily be a flag for manual review of the customer's order history.
Sorry, guess I read it wrong. I thought she was saying you shouldn't order the amount they limit you to. So, was thinking, what's the point of a limit if they are gonna ban you for using it. Thanks for explaining, makes sense.
Sorry to have been confusing - I was saying ordering more than four Disney $50 gift cards. I really don't mean to be scaring anyone or to create a "sky is falling" mentality - I was just re-posting what had been posted by an individual who had been banned by Target. It looks like the thread that it was originally on has been removed for some reason, but this was her post (in which she's referring to Disney gift cards):
Thanks, yeah I see that now. I thought you meant ordering the limit shouldn't be done. I would think ordering the limit would be following the rules, even if you order 4 $50's and 3 $100's, you would be doing the right thing since you are following their limits they are giving you per denomination. Thanks for explaining. Funny because in store they don't seem to limit or balk at buying $1000 in disney cards which I've done before, a couple times, but online is all about limits.
I am not an expert, but know the basics for Excel and I do love my spreadsheet. I don't think you have to use Excel, though. A simple pad of paper would work. For me the main thing is to just to write it down somewhere, because
you think you will remember each deal or what you spent, but after a while it all runs together and you forget.
My simple spreadsheet for churning includes:
date
source of the gift card
how much it cost me
how much it's worth
a column to "X" it out after I spend it
how/where I spent it
E-bucks earned
another column for other earnings (Ebates, CC points etc.).........
Thanks so much, Narnia_girl! Definitely looks like you're into spreadsheets! And, yeah a simple pad of paper would work, thought I'd have to total on my own, but I know how to do that better than do Excel, lol! And, yes, writing it down somewhere at least is a good idea, because that I know most of what I've done so far for about 3 months now, you definitely do start to forget some of the details! But, how do you know where to put things, across the top, or on the left column? More options across the top?
I tried sharing my spreadsheet before, but it didn't quite work. I think I figured it out now. I cleared out most of the content on mine, but put in two dummy fields so you can get an idea of how I use this spreadsheet. Just note, this is very highly customized to me and how I do my churning, so everyone will have different needs. But this may give you an idea of how a spreadsheet will help you stay organized.
Let me know if this link is working alright:

Thank you, Jen and Ashwin! I think it worked okay, but it wants me to purchase excel or something since I guess I had a trial that's out now. But, good to see, thanks for sharing that, interesting to see how you do it.
So my local gamestops all allow me to buy the ebay gift cards with gamestop digital gift cards. Has anyone tried to re-use one of your ebay gift cards you have bought there and have them re-load it, can you do that? Just trying to avoid "wasting" so many pieces of plastic!
I called the store the first night and he said the cards were loadable. And, next day in store they looked loadable and employee doing my transaction said they were, but the next guy on my second time in said no they don't reload, other than the first time you put how much you want on there. My store only allows $1000 in a day, $500 in one card, so that would be only two cards at least. And, ebay limits digital gc's to $1000 per rolling 30 days(which I read here somewhere), per paypal account.
...
On the Target end, more restraint is necessary. Unfortunately, we have no idea what Target's limits are (or if they exist). For Disney, Target won't let you buy more than 3 $100 GCs and 4 $50s in a single transaction - I think the general consensus here is that you shouldn't make a practice of ordering more than that in a single day.
But, ordering the limit in a day is, or seems, safe? I'll be converting some to Disney in a few weeks so I'll have to spread over a few days or week, or go in store for some. Looks like $500 at a time between the $100's and $50's?
.... IIRC there have been two bannings of members on this thread. One was for someone churning thru enough for a 27k family Disney trip (no. Not a typo

) . I think the other was from someone doing a much smaller volume of cards though. Nobody knows where Targets line in the sand is...
I thought that the thing two or three posters had in common was having used gc's from a reseller, giftcardzen in particular. I think that's when more of us stopped using gc's from resellers. I used Raise before, but have stopped since then.
