Disney Gift Card Deals

Ok. Can I just see if I've got this right? Not sure if it's worth starting for a trip this October.

I was going to purchase $500 in Disney GCs from Target with the RedCard.

Instead I could buy Ebay GCs through Target with the money, wait for a bonus promotion, and then buy Target GCs with the EBay GCs to earn Ebucks. Then I'd use the Ebucks to buy more Target GCs (or wait for another Promotion and THEN use the Ebucks to earn more Ebucks?). Use the Target GCs to buy EBay GCs, and keep on with the cycle until I eventually use the Target GCs to buy Disney GCs....

Good lord that was a mouthful! I don't want to tie up any money that'd go towards my October trip if that's possible. Not sure if this is more of a long term kinda thing? My next trip won't be for 3 years so I could always start it then if I have the gist of it right.

Is there usually a Ebucks promotion each month since they expire?

They seem to average at least three a month but not everyone gets every offer.

You have the basic idea and can add a shopping portal for more earnings like ebates or swagbucks but there are nuances to each.

From CT. All Trgt gcs from GCM.
I purchased on 3/29 and tracking said 4/7 but arrived today 4/2.
I purchased on 3/28 and tracking said 4/6 but arrived today.
Purchased on 3/23 and arrived 3/31.
Purchased on 3/24 and arrived 3/31.
Thanks! I'm in California, so maybe that's why it's so far out. I purchased 3/31 and it says it will be delivered 4/11.

So my local gamestops all allow me to buy the ebay gift cards with gamestop digital gift cards. Has anyone tried to re-use one of your ebay gift cards you have bought there and have them re-load it, can you do that? Just trying to avoid "wasting" so many pieces of plastic!

Impressive! Sounds like you've got the gist of it.

This can be a long-term OR short-term thing - it is whatever you make it. If you're not comfortable tying money up in this that belongs to your October trip, you could do a single churn and then see how that works for you. You can always cash out into Disney gift cards whenever you feel inclined to.

Instead of starting with eBay gift cards from Target, I would personally start with Target gift cards from eBay. Do you already have an eBay account that is enrolled in eBay Bucks? If so, did you receive any of the recent promos (4x, 5x)?

If your eBay account is already completely ready to go/receiving offers, that's definitely where I would start. That way, you're starting off with a higher potential percentage (up to 10%) than if you had purchased eBay GCs from Target (5%).

The other benefit of going that route is that you would go through Target one less time, thereby decreasing your risk of the dreaded Target ban.

Don't forget to add in the cash back site(s) of your choice - the cash back really adds up when you're dealing with this much money over and over.

I didn't follow your last eBay Bucks question. To try to answer what I think you were asking: eBay bucks are accumulated on a quarterly basis, and then you have one month from the date of issue to use them. The last quarter just ended, so April will essentially be the eBay Bucks spend month. That doesn't necessarily mean there won't be an eBay Bucks promo in April - there was one in Jan. after the end of the last quarter.

Outside of the "spend" month after quarter-end, there are typically a few eBay Bucks promos a month. A few days ago, @DIS_MERI posted a list of the dates + promo amounts for the past 6 months or so.

Feel free to ask questions - it can be a lot at first! You've clearly done your work in trying to get the process down, so you've done 90% of the work.

Awesome.

I've noticed people talking about amounts and limits - is their a general idea on an amount I shouldn't go past when getting Target cards through EBay?

You're limited to earning $500 in eBay Bucks in a quarter, and $100 eBay Bucks per transaction. Other than that, the only eBay-imposed limit is on digital gift cards, which you won't have to worry about if you're turning them back into Target (Target GCs aren't available digitally).

On the Target end, more restraint is necessary. Unfortunately, we have no idea what Target's limits are (or if they exist). For Disney, Target won't let you buy more than 3 $100 GCs and 4 $50s in a single transaction - I think the general consensus here is that you shouldn't make a practice of ordering more than that in a single day.

It seems you're safer buying higher amounts of eBay gift cards from Target at once than when you buy Disney. I've personally done $500 in eBay from Target in a day, and I've seen people here mention doing more than that without issue.

Also, if I add a small item to an order that gets a higher percentage back do you know if it'd give me the higher percentage on the whole order or break it up?

The Limit comes more into play when buying eBay from target and not vice versa. Except when buying from eBay you can not buy more than $500/month until your account is verified. With target, it's whatever amount you are comfortable with. For some people it's $300/day with others it's $1,000/month.

I haven't personally tried that, but I don't recall hearing anyone having success with it. You could try it - ultimately you'd only be out the amount of the filler item you'd add, but I'd be (pleasantly) surprised if it worked.

I'm about to use my new target gc's to buy eBay gc at target.com.... so is it advised to only buy $500 in eBay at a time? how long do you wait till the next order? i have about 1,500 in target to churn....

I test Ebates about once a month with no positive results. Let me know if there is any that need to be tested and I'll be the guinea pig.

The only thing I've found to work is to add a makeup item to my order and it credits the full amount of the shop when the rest is gift cards (which I guess shouldn't credit).

I have done 3x $200 in ebay cards successfully in a single order. I personally would not do more than that in a single day.

anyone know how long disney gift cards take to arrive from target? trip is 1st week of may. so gonna have to finally start converting 2000 target to disney

I can't remember the categories that I used besides clothing. Ebates is broken so i can't check there. But don't panic. They'll be back in a few.

I received ebates for both orders I made yesterday morning. I added Star Wars force awaken pre order. And the other I order zootopia pre order. They had a $5 gc with that one. I was going to buy both movies anyway so I made sure I looked at around at prices which where the same as in Amazon. Plus the 5% discount, plus the $5 gc plus the left over money I had from gc ($8) and ebates end up being the cheapest way for us.

How do you handle all the small gift card amounts left over on target cards? I have some with $10 and some with $5, but you can only use four gcs on check out. Is there a way to combine balances that I am not seeing?

I use a small one first & then order so I am within whatever other amounts I have. It often leaves a balance on the new gc I use but it's larger since I used up a smaller amount first.
