Disney Gift Card Deals

Just got to the end of my first churning quarter and am very pleased with my profits thanks to all of you for your help.
I have a question about when the ebucks are available to spend, am I right in thinking that I read that you cant buy ebay guft cards with ebucks money but you CAN buy target gift cards with the ebucks?

What is the best way to maximize those ebucks once they are available to spend?

Thanks so much to you all!

I believe you can buy either eBay or Target GCs, but eBay cards would not earn any eBay bucks.

To maximize, wait and see if you get any eBay bucks (4x/5x) offers. In the past, there have been one or two in the "spend" month, if you are lucky enough to get them!

I agree with the Perfessor, but here are some data points.

In Sept '15 there were 4 ebay bucks offers (all 4-5x).
Final quarter of '15, there were 3-4 offers in November (1 was 3x) and 4-5 in December (2 were 3x). There was also a 5x in late October, I'm told.
1st quarter '16 there was an offer in Jan, 4 in Feb (1 2x and 1 3x) and 5 in March (1 3x).

In order to max out each quarter, you would need to be able to turn over approximately $2500 at 4x for $200 and $3000 at 5x for $300, over a period that likely only covers about 2 months, and you likely won't get every offer. Personally, it takes me about a week to get my Target cards from GCM, and there can be as little as 5 days between offers, based on the last 7 months.

Shipping charges on Target cards at GCM can eat into your profit if you are only turning a small amount. I personally would not do less than $450 (3x $150) from GCM unless there's a special with free shipping. I always try to keep at least a couple of hundred in ebay gift cards in case GCM has a discounted Target card (which I have always seen with free shipping).

Thank you again for your input, right now I have about $2500 on Target GC that I need to start turning into Ebay GC and $300 on Ebay bucks so that I can be ready and hopefully I get some of these offers in order have a good shot at being maxed out. Thanks for all your help, everyone is always so helpfull at this board!!!

I was just coming to post this. Has anyone figured out an efficient way to endgame into walmart or sam's club gift cards?

Since I need way more than I can churn through target in 6 weeks, I've just been buying Walmart GCs from raise and then buying the $500 from Sams. Only a 8.7% discount, but better than nothing. I've already got about $5k in Target/EBay so I needed an additional avenue.

I use an excel spreadsheet to keep track of all of these little amounts. This helps me understand where all of my money is currently sitting, how much I have total and how much I have been saving. Another bonus is that once I created it, it does all of the math for me. You should develop a spreadsheet that works for your churning method.
Yes, this, 100%!! An excel spreadsheet is a lifesaver with this process. It has saved me hours of frustration. There is no other way I'd be able to keep track of what amounts are on which cards. Not having to calculating anything is a huge help also. My spreadsheet is pretty basic, but it definitely gets the job done.
I am a spreadsheet nerd TO THE CORE and I love mine. Find a way that works for you and it will be a lifesaver! All I punch in is the amounts and if I pay OOP for anything like shipping, and it calculates Ebates and all that for me. Of course I always verify when they actually credit or don't, but yeah it's helpful.
I'm another person that loves spreadsheets. I track absolutely everything on mine so that I don't lose track of anything. Then I summarize it in a dashboard which I print and post on the refrigerator so we can see how we're doing. I can see at a glance how much we have in each type of gift card, what our out of pockets expenses are, how much we've earned in various rewards and rebates, and the current percentage of savings to just name a few.....
The way you all talk about the spreadsheets, they sound awesome! But, no idea how use excel, for one thing. Also, no idea what items to put there or include, such as which things go across the top or down the side, or how they add up to then show how much you've saved! Seems so confusing. I just try to add up or keep in mind how much cash I've spent, how many gc's I've gained compared to how many I actually started out buying with cash. I think I'm doing well, but be interesting to understand it better, lol.

No, I haven't turned my ebucks off yet. I have a $5 certificate coming, so was afraid I'd lose that if I shut it off. Once I spend that, I will try turning it off and back on again and see what happens. Luckily I have 6 months to figure out how all this works!
Oh, yeah, good idea to wait then! Good luck, hope you get the promos!

As a reminder, I would strongly dissuade you from ordering more than 4 $50 Disney GCs in one day. One of the individuals who was banned from Target has stated that Target explicitly told them ordering more than 4 Disney $50s in a single day was the cause of their banning.
I'm not particularly keen on testing the limit myself.
Hmm, I guess this confuses me. If they set the limit at 4 $50's , why shouldn't you buy 4 $50's? I thought you could buy 3 or 4 $100's? I mean, if you abide by their limit, not sure why that's not okay, that doesn't make sense to me at all.

If I am understanding this correctly, the eBay>Gamestop>eBay is just to quickly turn the eBay GC around so you can get more bonus bucks? No special bargain price on the Gamestop GC, correct?
It worked out perfect for me, using my DD25's account, she got her second promo, first was the week before and the gc's didn't arrive until yesterday! Arhg! Then I read about the gamestop idea and decided to put in another $300. I called the store first and got the okay to come in and buy a few orders. I bought gamestop $300 at a time, for 3 times. If i had another day, I'd have done more on the next day. It worked great, very easy and earned $90 ebucks from this, then another $30 turning the last round into Target gc's. And then one more small sale, so I was able to get in an extra $140 churn on this last promo. Great way to get in on the end of the quarter, that was exciting! Also nice as it helps you lighten up on Target for a bit, lol.

Kmart giftcard I ordered on 3/28 from SVM gifts when there was a $15 off coupon has already arrived :) My Target order from the morning of 3/29 has a ship notice, initially it said it would arrive Monday but updated yesterday to Tuesday (which would normally be bad, since DD9 has homeschool co-op on Tuesday, but she'll be at her Dad's for spring break this week). I wouldn't be too shocked if my 3 other SVM orders arrived by Tuesday as well since I am only a state away. If only SVM would stock Target....

If you don't mind me asking which sears/ kmart do you have luck using these at? I'm actually located in indy. There's a kmart not even 5 minutes from me, but I've had bad experiences at it in the past. Every time I go it seems checkout doesn't go the way it should have and the cashier has no idea how to fix it, but if you're having luck i may give it a go. :)

I thought the PP you quoted was saying not to place multiple 4x$50 gc orders in the same day. Target limits you to 3 x $100 and/or 4x$50 per order but some people try to get around that limit by placing several orders on the same day. For some this has (at least appeared) to be a trigger for their banning. Since target won't divulge their criteria for a "reseller" I think it is same to assume try to get around their limits on how many of an item a customer can order could easily be a flag for manual review of the customer's order history.

I usually go to the one in Brownsburg, just off 267. I don't run a bunch through at once, I was just doing about $200 at a time when I got ebay cards since 8 cards takes a few minutes. I am not sure if they have GameStop cards there, but they did at my local one, so it wouldn't surprise me :)

I'm looking ahead!!

Thanks to this thread, our October trip is nearly 100% covered!

I'm starting to churn for a future trip and have been thinking about a Disney cruise. My question.....has anyone churned for a cruise? What all can be paid with GCs? Shipboard expenses? Excursions through Disney? When do I apply the GCs? On the final night? Please tell me all about your experience if you've churned for a cruise.

I'm working on a cruise waiting for fall 2017 to open. I was told by my travel agent they could apply $1k a day in gift cards to pay the cruise and was advised to use the Disney gift card consolidator to lump the small ones together. I am not sure about using gift cards onboard I haven't gotten to that point yet!

Yes this is what PP was saying to me. Target. Com is out of $100 Disney gc so I put 2 orders of $200 each plus a small item. Both orders were shipped and I didn't have any issues. I think there is more to the ban that just that. It can also mean that the cap is $500 on Disney gc total per day 3 $100 and 4$50 but since they were out of $100 they would let that slide?

Honestly I probably think that order history and how much gc purchases you have in your account is more relevant. For me this was only my second order of Disney gc in target. Com(third order that had a gc at all)in my account ever I see that as hardly being a reseller and we have our red card since 2008.

That one's a bit far from me. I'm close to the one off Emerson. All the others I knew of closed. I may try the gs route though since we have quite a few of those around.

I put all my gift cards into my Disney Vacation Account (some people have had problems with the DVA but I have never had a problem) and then call and have the money transferred to pay for the cruise itself or to buy an onboard credit. I will usually buy an onboard credit of $1,500-$2,000 to cover all the excursions, drinks, tips and any other expenses that are auto charged to your room. I do everything prior to the cruise so I don't carry any gift cards with me.

You can. I've taken the ones I have to guest services upon boarding the ship. You want to make sure they're in your account before they make any charges to your credit card on file. I don't know what the limit is, but once your account hits a certain threshold, they charge your credit card.

For anyone needing to stay at a non-Disney owned property, eBay sells hotels.com gift cards that can be emailed. The highest denomination is $100, but hotels.com has a feature where you can combine cards. I had to unexpectedly book a room for tonight and was able to buy 2 $100 cards, combine them, then book my room at the Marriott. Very easy, and another great use of churned cards!

ETA: and don't forget to go through ebates for cash back for booking through hotels.com. They have 6% cash back right now...score!

I am not an expert, but know the basics for Excel and I do love my spreadsheet. I don't think you have to use Excel, though. A simple pad of paper would work. For me the main thing is to just to write it down somewhere, because you think you will remember each deal or what you spent, but after a while it all runs together and you forget. :faint:
My simple spreadsheet for churning includes:
date
source of the gift card
how much it cost me
how much it's worth
a column to "X" it out after I spend it
how/where I spent it
E-bucks earned
another column for other earnings (Ebates, CC points etc.)

I can easily total how much I spent, how much it's worth, E-bucks, etc... to determine my net value

Excel allows multiple pages (sheets) so I have another page for gift cards I earn elsewhere (Swagbucks, mPlus, Bing, Shopkick, Receipt Hog, etc...)
And I have yet another sheet for gift cards I've purchased as, get this,....GIFTS! :rotfl:

I think the important thing is to have a system that works for you and that you can update/maintain regularly. Another thing that helps is moving my emails into specific folders and printing out gift cards earned on SB, mPlus, etc...

I've used gift cards for DCL but I wasn't churning then, just doing the Target route. I would call my travel agent and she would apply the GC to my account--this was before we could combine, so lots of 50s. I also gave Guest Services a few GC for our onboard expenses (they also require credit card). It was kind of a hassle on the last day when I had money left over on the gift cards I had put on our account. I had to get a refund, which took a few hours to show up, but it worked out fine.

I tried sharing my spreadsheet before, but it didn't quite work. I think I figured it out now. I cleared out most of the content on mine, but put in two dummy fields so you can get an idea of how I use this spreadsheet. Just note, this is very highly customized to me and how I do my churning, so everyone will have different needs. But this may give you an idea of how a spreadsheet will help you stay organized.

Let me know if this link is working alright:
