Disney Gift Card Deals

Ok so not everyone had problems. I don't have any grocery store near me that offer fuel perks. If I buy a clean gift card I am only going to be getting the 5% savings red card gives me. So worst case scenario i can use the gc i bought at card pool (5.5% discount) at the target store and not get the extra 5% from doing it online?

I agree with Marionnette. You decide what you are comfortable with and go for it. We are all taking some risks here...some more than others...I tie up thousands of my money in gift cards in stores that could change their policies at any time and leave me high and dry, unable to use the money for vacation purposes anymore. However, I could always spend Target or Ebay so I don't worry that much about it. But still, it is long-saved vacation dollars I am 'playing' with. I am one who will no longer buy Target off the reseller's market but I have access to other discounted 'clean' cards. If you don't have that and are comfortable with that (small) risk, then that is what you do.

I can think of a lot of "worst case" scenarios. Most of them are unlikely to happen but nothing is fool-proof. Even ordering Disney GCs from Target .com comes with it's own set of possible SNAFUs. You roll the dice and take your chances.

Thanks! I have another question. If i buy the physical gc from card pool could i take it to my target store and combine them, before using online to get a clean gc?

Has anyone ever received the offer on the 2nd day of a 2 day sale? No offer for me :( I checked my email from 3/8 and did get the last 5x but was on vacation. So missed a 5x and 4x in an 8 day span, boohoo.

I just received my ebay gift cards and redeemed them minutes later.
I'm done until the mailman comes.

I don't think we have a definite answer for this, but I don't think buying new gift cards with reseller gift cards would make them "clean." Target can follow the path gift cards take, so if your cards are "unclean," I don't think conversion to a new gift card would cleanse them.

I would suggest that you check your eBay account to see if you have the 4x eBay bucks offer. You would have received an email and/or there would be a banner at the top of your eBay home page. As @PerfessorZ has adeptly pointed out, your most "safe" savings may come from buying Target cards during an eBay bucks promo, as they would then be "clean," and you'd get a "discount" in the form of eBay bucks.

[This "clean/unclean" sounds so religious. A cult of Disney gift cards.]

Transferring the balance from one Target GC to another or combining Target GC balances onto a single, new GC will prevent a previous owner from draining the GC that you bought from them. But Target can trace how the money is moved around. They could tell if a "bad" GC was used in a store or online. They can even tell what register was used at the store. Moving the balance to another card doesn't make it a "clean" GC. It only moves the dirt to a new spot.

Ok been reading the past few pages of posts for a couple hours and I am definitely going to give it a try!

Question- I have some visa gift cards I would like to use as my initial investment. Probably $200 to start. Sounds like most people start on eBay during some sort of promotion. I know that if I use gift cards it counts against my limit, but I don't have fuel perks or anything else other than target red card and a membership to BJ's (not sure if they sell eBay gift cards??) So my plan is to watch eBay and hope I get an offer and then use the gift cards (and ebates.) Does that sound like a good plan? Oh and can I use multiple payment methods on eBay?

Thank you for all the advice!

Just signed up for Ebay Bucks last week, got the 4x promo, and did my first Raise-Target-Ebay churn tonight, for 17%. Thinking I should be happy with the final 5% Target- Disney, for a total of 22%. What on average are your churning percentages, for say $1000?

I am so annoyed with Target's website tonight! Order for 3 x $200 eBay GC's - cancelled. Order for 1 x $200 eBay GC - received. Order for 3x $100 eBay GC - cancelled! I have purchased multiple GCs in the same order before without issue so I'm not sure what the problem is tonight. I'm hesitant to try again though since I did also place 3 separate orders for Target GCs today to consolidate a bunch of smaller cards. I wish I had remembered to purchase my eBay cards over the weekend so I could space out the orders but I was busy and not online. I guess I will try again tomorrow and see if I can get all my cards converted in time to get in on the 4X eBay bucks. I have an appointment in the morning though so I won't be able to get online until afternoon. Grr, stupid Target!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one tonight! I just had two orders with eBay gift cards cancelled by Target (3x200 and 2x200), both of which were bundled with several other items on our shopping list. I'm just going to put in an order for our shopping list now, hope that doesn't get cancelled too, and try again in the morning!

The Visa gift cards won't count against your $5k limit. Only ebay gift cards. You use the Visa gift cards as a credit card, right? Not sure how multiple forms of payment work if not all go through Paypal. If going through PP, you can use multiple forms of payment. Your plan sounds fine. I started with $300 and very quickly added more to my 'pot' as I realized the savings that could be.

They ask some questions that I would have preferred to not have answered (type of business and anticipated income/sales). In my mind I could make a case (internal justification) so continued on with the set up. I dropped the Raise part off of my process and have decided on just using My Points (for now) so that has also simplified things. I'm not as driven to confirm the savings as I was, since without Raise it is pretty consistent (Target 5%, eBucks 5x, and MyPoints 2%). I am afraid of forgetting about eBay eGC's (getting lost in my inbox) and partially used cards, that's why I would like to get tracking. At some point I aspire to be like Cydney, Marionnette and PerfessorZ with their success in Swagbucks, Perks and the likes, but that is a ways off.
Thanks for sharing that, Alice Sr, appreciate it! I think I'll hold off right now on a second acct as I've got my DD25's accts going now and hope to get the next good promo there, lol! But, was interested to hear how to go about the 2nd acct just in case. Maybe after our May trip, I will take some time to try to get something like Swagbucks going, but need some time to read and figure out how to get it going! But, I'm happy with my $500 ebay bucks I getting after March, and another couple hundred from Ebates and TCB!

In my experience, after signing up for ebucks, I had to earn $5 in ebucks before I started receiving the offers.
Okay, so I'm wondering if others have found this to be the case, as well? I haven't heard anyone else mention this before in trying to get the ebay bucks promos to start coming. And, at least several people here have mentioned opening new accounts over the months I've been reading here, so wondering if you've been able to start receiving these promos and being able to take advantage of the ebucks promos with the new accounts. Did you have to make other purchases first to get some ebucks first before the offers started to come or did they start to come without having to do that? To get 5% in ebucks at the everyday 2% rate, I'd have to spend $250, which is a lot to spend to start saving. Seems like that would really cut your savings back. Is it really the norm that no one has really mentioned until the posts I saw tonight, or do most eventually start getting the promos without paying out $250 first?

Wondering if you had the same experience as the above poster did, did you have to spend $ to get $5 in ebucks before the promo showed up?

Also, another poster asked if anyone has ever had the offer pop up or get the email on the second day of the promo before, and I'm wondering the same thing.

The $200 ebay cards from Target never work for me, most of my other orders go through fine. With the $200 ones, during the checkout process, it never asks for my email for those cards. When I have $200 and $100 cards in my cart, it will only ask for emails for the $100 ones. Has anyone had this issue before and found a fix for it?

Also - does swagbucks credit cashback for Target gift card purchases? I'm pretty sure I saw it mentioned before that even though GCs are excluded it still credits, can anyone confirm?

I'm happy with anything about 25 or 30%! I think 22% for your first try is awesome. :) If you're willing to spin it through once more you could probably wait a week or two and get another 4 or 5x Ebay offer.

I've tried to order the $200 ones multiple times and it never asks for an email for them. I just stick to ordering $100 and $50.

I ordered a $200 on Saturday, it did not request an email address, I received it within the hour. I ordered a $200 and 2-$100 Sunday, I did have to provide an email address for one of those orders but not both, do not recall which one. They were also received right away. And since I was already and prepared for the next promotion I didn't get it, lol. I think Swagbucks does pay on the Target GC purchases.

I also only signed up a few weeks ago and didn't get the 5x promo that came out recently. I was pretty bummed but wanted to "try the process" to make sure I got a handle on it before another promo came out so I could be ready. I did one order through eBay and got the standard 2% back on $200 ($4 ebucks). After that, I started to get promos. So there maybe something to the theory that you start getting them after an initial purchase.

For reasons not entirely clear to me, Target only sends $200 cards to the email address associated with your Target login. Everything else, you have the option to send to another address.

This correlates to my own experience. I had not received any ebay bucks promos on a new account for 2 weeks. I then ended up spending enough to cross the $5 threshold and the following week was eligible for a promo. Is it proof? No, could be coincidence, but it at least supports the theory.
