Have you noticed that these bans at target.com revolve around cancelled eBay GC orders as well? I have not heard about people being banned for trying to order Disney GCs

I think one of the people on this thread who was banned said they were not buying eBay...I think they were buying Target with Target (from giftcardzen).

Well I went to the desktop site on my phone and they were valid there. But no discount on them. I did not purchase the eBay cards yet. Something is up.

That's correct some were gift card Zen and some were free target cards from buying Disney gift cards.

Went and rebooted my phone, cut off WiFi and went to the desktop site and was able to buy the $200 eBay gift card with the two $100 stored gift cards for $190.00.

Hopefully it will all work out, but I am now suspicious.

So, were you buying eBay with those gift cards? Giftcardzen definitely seems to be a common link.

I ordered one $200 eBay GC today from Target. I put $11.89 on my Redcard and rest was covered by gift cards. I received the order confirmation at 1:20pm but still have not received the GC which is weird. No cancellation though either. I have not ordered a GC from Target in about a week.

Yeah, I know. Me too. Wondering if I should just go in and cancel the order. Wait a few days and try again. It's been about 8 hours since I ordered. It just says 'Order Created' in the status area.

ETA: Just got it! Literally, as soon as I posted here, it showed up in my email. Yay!! Breathing a sigh of relief.

My gut tells me there was somebody flagged as a reseller who dumped all their inventory on Gift Card Zen awhile back. Those unfortunate enough to purchase those tainted cards also got flagged. It appears to be a localized phenomenon in that all the people I've heard of getting banned recently all bought gift cards from this one 3rd party exchange and only around a certain time frame. It does not appear to me to be correlated to how the cards were used, nor to whether rebate sites were used or not.

Proof, I have none yet, but the little evidence we have points this way to me.

@chmasy - have you been able to use your Gift Card Zen-purchased Target cards in store?

I tend to agree with your gut. I think the same. It's not giftcardzen's fault. It could easily have happened to any of these third-party gift card resellers. It does confirm for me that the safer way to churn is by buying 'clean' Target or ebay to begin the process. I like your idea of just buying Target from GCM (through eBay) or I also have the option of buying from my Kroger chain grocery store when they do 4x fuel rewards. I just don't want a ton that way as I cannot use tons of fuel rewards. I only gas up once a month. But if I buy $250 during that promo and use my best grocery cash back card, I save 16% right off the bat.

Anyway, can you use a gift card to buy a gift card at Kohls or Lowes? I have both right now and I know they both sell other stores (not sure what all they sell), but wondered if anyone knows if you can use them to buy others (hopefully they would have Disney).

You cannot use either of those stores gift cards to purchase gift cards. And just fyi, Lowes does sell Disney but Kohl's does not.
