Disney Gift Card Deals

Ooh interesting. I will share mine. Mine definitely needs some major tweaking but it is what I have been using for the last few months anyway. Mine doesn't have any cool formulas. Back in my secretary days I used to go to Microsoft Excel classes and I could make these grand formulas that were a mile long and would do anything I asked. A few years of working in the hospital and that knowledge is gone. :crazy2: I feel like a grandma trying to use a Blu-Ray player.

Don't feel bad. I had everything entered into a notebook in PENCIL (mechanical at least)! I write it all down, dates, where and check it off as I receive it, then put in pencil all of the Disney cards I ordered with order number etc to make sure I get them. Then keep track of the ebates. It's all I know! I too have taken so many classes on spreadsheets and by the time I get to doing on, I have forgotten everything! But I am a retired RN and I can still do a heck of a wound dressing! HA! And I still can't figure out the 4 remotes we have for the tv...and that apple tv thing drives me nuts! I hope they don't stop making pencils and erasers in my lifetime!

Where do you list what your money spent on gift cards? I like having an area where I keep my total money out so I don't get too carried away taking our "real" money and turning it into vacation money. LOL.

Bahaha. Let's blame nursing. Listen, either I can know how to get your baby delivered or I can remember how to make a formula in Excel. We can't have both. :rotfl:. Seriously, my knowledge of technology stopped when I quit office work! If anything happens to a phone/computer/tablet I just hand it to my husband and tell him what I want it to do and he gives it back when it's taken care of.

I write all of my ADR/FP+ times on a note card when we go to the parks. I can't stand having to look at a screen to figure out what's going on for the day. Plus there's something therapeutic about writing it down. I am the oldest 27 year old you'll ever meet.

PerfessorZ, thanks for sharing a sample of your spreadsheet. I really like how you organized it. Makes great sense to me. DH also approved. It wouldn't let me download or copy the document you posted, but I went ahead and made one for myself by tweaking it to my needs in excel. I also added a few extra "totals" so that I could also see my percentage savings. Since we have all of our needs covered for our February trip now, it seemed like the perfect time to start fresh with this spreadsheet for our next trip, so I will be tracking all of my future savings.

I made an excel template and put it into my google drive, so I think people should be able to download this one:

ETA: After reflecting on comments below, I updated the spreadsheet so that "capital invest" is the field for spend towards gift cards.

I am using the category CC (as in credit card) for the money out. You just put the amount spent in brackets, such as (50.00) and it will keep track in the spreadsheet. I added a separate category for Redcard too, because DH liked that idea. You could always just relabel it as "Out" or "Spend" or anything that make sense to you.

ETA: On my spreadsheet, if you convert one type of gc to another, you would do a similar thing. For example, to convert from Target to eBay, on a new row you would put 100 in the eBay field and then (95) in the Target field. And if you gained 2% from eBates, you would put 1.90 in the eBates field. Then the row total would show $6.90 because this is your net gain for this churn. It would then all get reflected into the surplus total and value fields. Surplus total is your "found money." And the value is the total amount of all money in all denominations. It uses these two values to calculate the % savings.

I don't think that one is allowing for changes either....then again I am the grandma with a blu-ray so I might be doing it wrong. :teeth:

You have to download it and then open it up with excel. There is a little down arrow at the top of the page that should let you do this. Let me know if you can't see it. I tried the link in incognito mode on my browser and it worked for me.

Oh, wow . Cold medicine brain. That worked. Side point---day 8 of the most brutal cold two weeks after food poisoning at Disney. The universe is being cruel...!

I tried to purchase a Target gift card on ebay using my ebay bucks and am trying to cover the balance with an ebay gift card but it is not letting me. I'm new to this ebay bucks thing, is this just not allowed or am I doing something wrong?

I had the same issue. I ended up paying the balance out of my Paypal account. Not sure if there's a way around the issue or not - I was in too much of a hurry to order to play with it.

I had issues yesterday as well. The system forces you to pay something out of pocket.

I've been following along and want to make sure I have the steps right. Would someone mind confirming...

1-Purchase an ebay gift card through raise.com (or other discounted gift card website)
2-Go to ebay through ebates website and use ebay gift card to purchase Target gift card from Gift Card Mall (pay $2.99 shipping)
3-Go to Target website through ebates and purchase Disney gift card and small token item (with Red Card listed as default payment method) and use Target gift card from step 2 to pay.
3-Upload Disney gift card to Disney Vacation Account to get the additional $20 bonus per $1,000.

Do I have it? Am I missing anything?

Yep, same issue here. Had $5 in ebay bucks and then cashed out swagbucks for a $15 and a $5 ebay gift card to buy a $25 southwest gift card I need. It will let me use the $5 ebay bucks and either the the $15 or $5 gift card but not both. Wish I had realized this as I wouldn't have cashed out for the $5 ebay gift card. Oh well, live and learn.

Buy a target gift card from raise. Go to target through ebates and get eBay gift cards. This gives 2% ebates and 5% off the eBay plus the percent off on the discounted raise purchase.

So, are you saying...
1-Purchase an Target gift card through raise.com (or other discounted gift card website)
2-Go to Target website through ebates and purchase an ebay gift card and small token item (with Red Card listed as default payment method) and use Target gift card to pay.
3-Go to ebay through Raise.com and purchase a Target gift card with the ebay gift card from step 2
4-Go to Target website through Raise.com and purchase a Disney gift card with Target gift card from step 3 (Red card listed as default payment) along with small token item.
3-Upload Disney gift card to Disney Vacation Account to get the additional $20 bonus per $1,000.

Ok, so I have a cruise booked and have been buying GCs to pay off the fees. I'd like to use GCs for on-ship fees like tips, and souvenirs. How do I go about opening a DVA with only GCs?

What I did was set up a future payment with a credit card to open it, deposit gift cards, then cancel the future credit card payment. I'm paying for everything I can for my August cruise with gift cards. Even was able to get the deposit refunded (which I paid onboard with a credit card) and replaced with gift cards.

1-Go through swagbucks to Purchase a Target gift card from raise.com (or other discounted gift card website)
2-Go to Target website through ebates and purchase an ebay gift card and small token item (with Red Card listed as default payment method) and use Target gift card to pay.
3-Go to ebay through Ebates or swagbucks and purchase a Target gift card with the ebay gift card from step 2
4-Go to Target website through Ebates and purchase a Disney gift card with Target gift card from step 3 (Or you can do eBay again do the cycle again to get more cash back)(Red card listed as default payment) along with small token item.
5-Upload Disney gift card to Disney Vacation Account to get the additional $20 bonus per $1,000.

*make sure you are part of the eBay bucks program before doing the eBay step.

I'm through step 2 but did not get my 5% Red Card discount. :( O'well, I'm still money ahead with all the other.
