Some of these spreadsheets are most impressive! Me, I just measure my savings using my awesome $0.25 wooden ruler from Target.

When you are on target check out act like you are paying with your red card, when you get to the review screen, down below the box with the total that shows the 5% it will say pay with a target gift card. Click that and you should keep the 5%.

I did... I just tested it by buying a $50 Disney gift card with Target gift cards purchased on raise.com and was given the 5% Red Card discount. Maybe a temporary glitch with eBay gift cards???

Either way, I'm still money ahead so its all good.

OMG, what am I doing wrong? I've been scoring GCs on Swagbucks, and since they are having slim pickings right now, I decided to try the Ebates thing with Target and the "ruler" or other item thing. I opened a Ebates acct tonight, and purchased one $50 GC and a pack of party napkins (Mickey of course), and somehow the purchase is showing under SB instead of Ebates! WTH? I went thru the ebates site to enter Target, so what gives? Of course nothing is showing in Ebates. I just read the fine print that "toiletries" and "grocery items" won't credit. Does this mean napkins for a themed Bday party, too? Did this occur b/c I have Swagbucks toolbar or something?

I'm pretty sure the toolbar is what got you. It happened to me once, and I since removed it from my computer. I didn't realize right away that that was what happened, so I contacted ebates after seeing that I didn't get the credit, and after sending them proof of my purchase, they actually credited my account. Later I realized it was probably the toolbar. Also, many ebates purchases won't credit from a mobile device.

I always do my ebates in a separate browser to avoid this. Ebates wont credit this one because adding something is a work around, it shouldnt technically work. I don't know if the napkins count as toiletries or grocery. I always do the $.25 wooden ruler or the $.50 erasers. When you do complete your first $25 purchase through ebates you will get $10 plus the percentage though!

No, it's not safe. The seller can still use the gift card #.
Just buy another Target gift card with that gift card from Raise. Then the seller won't have your new gift card #.

I always buy a target card with my gift card from raise if I am not going to use it right away just to be safe. HOWEVER, when you sell a gift card on Raise you have to put in your credit card information. You agree that if you use the gift card that you sold you will be charged the amount of the gift card on your credit card. That is why Raise says they guarantee you will get your money when you buy a gift card.

Raise will not even let me open an account without a US cell phone number....so frustration. What do you all that live outside of the US do? My mailing address and bank are in the US that I use for all online ordering.

No, I have not had this issue.
Are these Target gift cards that were purchased from a reseller such as Raise, so that someone else would have the gift card #? Or, are these gift cards that you have purchased directly from Target?

Raise does not work outside the usa.you would need a vpn or proxy server to order with raise. Cardpool and most others wont accept an international CC. What worked for me is giftcard zen but their discount is much lower

Same thing happened to me. I went through Ebates and bought gift cards plus some grocery items. No credit in Ebates and when I emailed, they said you only get credit for buying gift cards on certain sites, Target wasn't one of them. They completely ignored the other items I bought. Not sure it is worth haggling over that though.

After you mentioned you saw purchase under SB, I looked and SB showed my target shopping trip with the correct order total. I did NOT shop through SB and I didn't get SB for the purchase. I don't have the swag button. I do have my search engine defaulted to SB. Left me feeling like big brother SB is always watching. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
