I had no problems combining just now. Not sure what the to-do is all about.
That's so funny considering when I went to Target this morning, the cashier didn't want to let me buy Target gift cards with a Target gift card. I told her to just scan my gift card, and she would see that it works perfectly. And, of course, it did! This is posted on the target website.....
Target Mobile GiftCards can no longer be combined using the Target App. If you would like to combine your GiftCards, please bring your current GiftCards to your Target store to purchase one single GiftCard for the combined value. Keep in mind, up to four GiftCards may be applied to a single Target.com order.
I've done this online. I used 4 Target GCs to purchase 1 and received the GC in an email less than 30 minutes later. No worrying about physically going to the store!
Just tried I can upload but no longer shows a combine buttonExactly what I do also.
I wasn't able to combine tonight (I got a Target card in the mail from my credit card points). I went to "edit" the current card, backed out of that and then the option was suddenly there and I was able to do it.

No people are talking about the old mobile website. For a long time target had a mobile website (that you logged into with your cell phone number and a PIN number) and one of the features was the ability to combine gift cards. People who get small $5 target gift cards (either from point programs like shopkicks or from buying weekly target deals like the Disney cards last week) used this feature to combine all those gift cards into one larger card. People also used this to transfer the balance immediately after buying a gift card from companies like Raise to prevent dishonest sellers from trying to drain the card after the sale. Now with that function gone the only option would be to buy larger target gift cards using the small ones to combine them and/or using the raise/card pool/etc to immediately purchase a new card to protect it from the original owner. Hopefully Target never stops allowing people to buy target gift cards with target gift cards-then we'd really all be out of luck!Ok so I am confused as usual!! I have always just added the target electronic gift card and it applies the total to what I owe in my cart. I am able to add a total of 4 GC's is this not working now?
That would be HORRIBLE!Hopefully Target never stops allowing people to buy target gift cards with target gift cards-then we'd really all be out of luck!
I had to open my yap
I merged a few cards easy-peasy then suddenly the combine option disappeared and hasn't come back.
ETA: The aforementioned edit a card to (temporarily) bring back the combine button did work. For how long until the developers close that loophole, who knows?
I was able to merge cards yesterday morning but the ability was gone last night. Where do you find "edit a card"?
So I just got am email from EBay announcing 4x bucks. Now how is the best way to take advantage of this? Do Target sell electronic EBay GC's and visa versa? The same is for two days only. If they do not sell E gift cards then definitely will not be any time.
In the mobile target website, go to "my mobile gift cards".
Sign in with your mobile phone number and PIN.
Click a card you would like to combine.
When the card details pop up, click on the name you gave the card.
Change the name to something new.
Click "save"
The "Combine" button now appears.
Help me out...I think reading all of these posts about no longer combining Target Gift Cards has gotten me confused...
I went to m.target.com and, yes, my option to combine is no longer there. So, I read here that I can combine gift cards by "buying" another Target gift card. Here's my list of questions...
Can I do this online?
If so, is it a physical gift card that they mail or is it an e-card?
And if I cannot do it online, can I combine digital gift cards at the customer service desk?
Is that handled the same way as buying a Target gift card with a gift card?
I am fortunate in that I live just 5 minutes from Target and we stop in there 1-2 times a week so if I have to go to the store to combine gift cards, it won't be too much of an extra hassle.
